I'm glad I'm not the only person who noticed this! The part where the entire band comes in when the theme repeats reminds me of the performance with Tom and the entire band!

The video where he plays this for the time is so much fun to watch. He gets so into it he really liked it. His bandmates in the Raspberry Jam Band liked it so much too, they actually incorporated it into their shows with their own arrangement.
I thought this was inspired more by the 8 Bit Big Band's version of this song...and most likely the team who made this level did this to fight off a mutiny from their on site band which must have demanded this track be released.

This is easily my favourite track of the wave. The references to the SNES game are enough to make stone hearted man like myself cry! Everything from the huffin puffins to the stilt guys, to the cloud bubble ans bridge gimmick, to the coin, switch, piranha plant chomp and bridge sound effects. This track has everything! Oh and the level intro, outro and end of level clips just makes this track a true gem! It truly takes me back to my childhood playing this beautiful game!
This track was the first time I got emotional with the track as a whole The music was amazing, and the track felt so lively with the familiar enemies & other Easter eggs throughout the track The final nail for me was the goal/result music. Man, my eyes turned into a waterfall 😂
This definitely captures that child innocence and playful energy Yoshi's Island made itself out to be. Plus, the string and jazz combo is such a pleasant and bouncy remix on the Athletic Theme
Even as someone who never played Yoshi’s Island, this track is so charming and faithful to the original, even I can feel how much they love the original series. This is also one of the rare cases when the BCP artstyle works PERFECTLY for a track.
@@alexanderman31 You really think they create two tracks out of the 48 specially for MK8 Deluxe and then port it to tour? Of course its a tour track. Not to mention that the it was already known by dataminers a year before the release in 8 deluxe, that a bathroom track and a yoshi island track is coming to tour.
You can tell a lot of love went into this course, from the SFX to the Yoshi coins it truly is a love letter to a classic. And definitely a worthy course to be the first new Yoshi themed course in 2 decades
I want more tracks like this. Tracks that heavily base on the mario universe themselves rather than a generic water park or another sweet ride. I want more ambitious and more attention to detail tracks. Mario Kart 8 dose its best when they go all out on creative tracks like Big Blue. Overall, the music is a phenomenal remix and way better than the Smash version.
There is possibility for more as tour has a track datamined with the name "mobdk" (mobile dk) which could mean a dk track may come in the future but we can't be fully sure
@@Kalanken Please be one based on Tropical Freeze. That game is a masterpiece and yet is ignored everytime in crossovers (Smash Bros., Mario Kart, Mario + Rabbids).
@@dukemon6163 but still it can't be fully confirmed, mkt nitros sometimes are pretty unpredicteble like mobor which was expected to be orlando but turned out to be piranha plant cove but sometimes these track can be predicted for example mobyi is yoshi's island, it was obvious it was yoshi's island from the objects that got datamined with the name of the track last year
It's very interesting that the violin plays the original melody 0:04, whereas the jazz instruments play an altered version, where some notes are delayed 0:20
If Nintendo releases more DLC for this game, I would love to race tracks based on the Mario Universe. Yoshi’s Island demonstrates that it’s possible. Just imagine 48 tracks based on the Mario Universe and at this point we would call it, “Mario Kart Ultimate”

They did such a great job on this track. From the music, to the course's layout being exactly like the actual map and all of the original sounds. So much detail even down to the minor stuff is what I love about it. The nostalgia gets me choked a bit.
Really enjoying the trend of “Smash Bros remixes a song multiple times meanwhile the Mario Kart 8 Sound Team nails it on their first try.” Happened with Mute City, then Big Blue, and now this.
All the references MADE IT MEMORABLE. It literally felt like it was some ride at Super Nintendo World or something. It's too perfect and I absolutely love it.
I love this band’s ability to take almost any theme and turn it into a new masterpiece. Considering the original theme was very reminiscent of ragtime, being able to mold it into a jazzy song is very impressive.
I love the violin in the first part then the Saxophones, Baritone Saxophones, Tubas,Trombones, and Clarinets in the rest of song. As a Tuba player, I will definitely try to play this song.

I remember when this track was announced. I was watching the Nintendo Direct on a train in 144p. As soon as I got off, wave 4 was teased and I was shocked by mobYI being real and Birdo's inclusion. Best wave of the bcp
That little piano solo in the back during 0:50 makes me think and hope that the composer was referencing Tom Brier's incredible piano performance of this song
This track captures nostalgia for this game and the SNES era in general I don't even have. Seriously, this is some of the best track design yet. And the sounds and music they used from Yoshi's Island...it's just so well done
The only thing that I have in mind when I hear the song is. "I just found this baby, right Infront on my home. A tasty little snack for any dinosaur. But I just finish breakfast, i full until my head, so I will give it to yellow instead"
I heard the Tour-Version now - and I have to say... Whoever thinks the quality of the smartphone version is better, has absoluty no taste for music. The quality is this here is like 5-times the Tour Version. But overall, they used both a very iconic song which can't sound bad at all.
Nintendo keeps reminding us that this game exists despite having two sequels existing that aren’t up to par. When will they finally make a game as good as the first one? 😩
Nothing will come close to topping both the N64 and 3DS Rainbow Roads for me (whether it’s for design, nostalgia, music, or anything similar), but when it comes to EVERY OTHER Mario Kart racetrack, I choose this for my all time favorite. (Yes, this is now officially my THIRD favorite MK track period) Especially given my love for the Yoshi’s Island sub-series of Mario, and that Yoshi himself is my favorite character of the franchise no doubt…
It legit blows my mind how Nintendo really is making each wave in the Booster Course better than the last, and with additional features besides the tracks, too!
Now I hope that one of the other 5 "new" characters will be Kamek. Imagine if the whole SMW2 crew (7 Yoshis, Baby Mario, Baby Luigi,, Kamek, Shy Guy and Bowser Jr. as a replacement for Baby Bowser) would race on this track.
