This sounds like a midified version of something played with instruments. That's not the case for S3&K. None of the music in that game actually sounds like midis, honestly.
I think you just have pretty sh1t ears. This is a blues structure. Not thrash metal. So don't comment on topics you have no idea about. You only show your ignorance. Then again you probably should not even be allowed to use the internet, considering you are most likely underage judging by your channel.
This final boss fight established Yoshi as one of the greatest video game protagonists of all time. Imagine-just imagine, you’re facing off against a creature almost 200, 250 feet tall… you have a BABY ON YOUR BACK YOU’RE PROTECTING, all you have is EGGS! My goodness, Yoshi, you are one of the GOATs.
Its even more terrifying as a kid when you have royally pissed him off enough to start charging at you, that was when I first discovered the juiced feeling of adrenalin when I was a kid lmao! true story... but now here I am as an adult now seeing how kick ass this final boss really is, the music, the fight itself... for a Super nintendo... this is just beyond Epic!
Straight up terrified when I was real little. Had to turn away while watching my cousin play, and I totally bitched out and let him beat me when he got too close during my first handful of fights.
They wouldn’t have saved Luigi either. The Mario bros would’ve grown up under bowser’s control. Fitting that this is Mario and bowser’s first ever canonical meeting.
I remember just actually screaming in terror when he demolished the ground underneath me and killed me, like holy crap, and the sounds he makes when he shoots the giant fireballs was the stuff of nightmares
bowser scared the crap out of me the way the he creeps slowly closer to you with his glowing eyes. the rock music makes it a pretty amazing experience. overall it was awesome.
Never in my life have I felt more genuine fear while playing a game than the portion of this battle where the giant baby Bowser just fucking charges at you at full speed.
Epic final boss. And a great plus fitting musical theme, as well. The tune, itself, is urgent, dire, and seemingly quite monstrous, which makes it rather fitting for this epic final boss scenario and situation, indeed.
Shit just got real when you hit bowser a few times throws rocks at you and hits the ground then rushes at you. No matter how many times i play him im always getting exhausted and that feeling of accomplishment great memories
1:02 2:06 This part kicks on and I suddenly feel as though I'm pulsing with power! Definitely the best instrument in this game! 1:12 2:16 YEEEAAAAAAH! LET'S GOOO!!!
well, if we combined the gigant Baby Bowser transformation and the mega mushroom/giant-catbell-thing and applied them into adult bowser, he'd be a million times more intimidating.
"we need a theme for the final boss of this cute game, any ideas?" "speed metal with the meanest synth solo" "...You know what? it's crazy enough it might work"
Yoshi's Island in general was a rather scary game, actually. Remember riding those moving circle panels through a region of instant death spikes while the creepy castle theme is playing? And the face that Yoshi makes if you touch the spikes? This was a Teen game disguised as E for Everyone.
That's pretty cool. My guess is they wanted to really show the scale of baby Bowser but perhaps they were either limited by sprite size or that the scaling would make him look too pixelated so by making him part of the background it would allow them to create more detail.
The funny thing is, the boss isn't actually all that hard mechanically. He's hard because you start freaking out when he sprints at you and your aim goes to shit.
@BaufenBeast Alsp doesn't help I was very young fighting this guy the first time. It must have been one of my first games I ever beat as a kid. I was just getting to know the game still, and the change in perspective slipped me up haha
The final boss of this game scared me so bad when I was like 5. I actually refused to play the game anymore afterwards lol. All these years later, I don't think I've ever beaten this childhood game of mine because of it.
Nintendo: "Alright, we need you to make a final boss theme for this cute little spin-off Yoshi game that looks like a bunch of little kids drew it in crayon" Koji Kondo:
I mean it matches the atmosphere of the fight. Baby bowser sprinting at the screen was legitimately terrifying. You panic, miss an egg, and he's suddenly in your face.
Kid: I wanna play Mario! Me: Pfft, you call that Mario? Back in my day Mario games had heavy metal, explosions, heat seeking torpedoes (with the submarine transformation) and would kick your ass until it came out of your face if you hadn't mastered them yet. Good times. - sigh - you don't know what you missed... Luckily I still have my SNES. Incidentally, this game came out (and I got it) on my 5th birthday. Hard to think that was almost 20 years ago now. You know full well what I will be doing when October rolls around - This was the release in EU/UK. Screw the Wii U.
