Kwing in Japan Yoshi's Island was not known as Super Mario world 2(and Super Mario world 1 is Super Mario Bros. 4) it was known as Yoshi's Island. The American version was known as Super Mario World 2 so people would be familiar with it.

Yoshi rules 1 and 2 always have a lot of eggs and if it looks spikey or super dangerous throw an egg at it. no offense but you're kind of a newb and should give the game to your wife she'll probably do better

My favourite memory of Yoshi games *and Nintendo games in general for that matter* is the joyous free spirited feel I got whenever I played. It always gave you the sense of originality and just lighthearted fun that can make you feel like a kid again even after all these years.

my fondest Yoshi memory has to be when I was about 9, I went to a friend's house and popped in Yoshi's story and in the intro I heard the "LAAA LA-LA-LA-LA LAAAAA LA-LA-LA-LA" song and I just sat there listening to it bobbing my head to the adorableness! The song still brings a smile to my face :)

The greatest memory I have ever had with Yoshi of course has to be the first memory I ever had of Yoshi. It was September 2007 I was young maybe six or seven, and I was searching throughout the Nintendo Wii E shop, when I found Yoshi's Story, at the time I didn't know who he was, all I knew was people at my school use to wear Yoshi t-shirts, so my first thought was to buy the game, I was so excited when I played it. Everything felt so "happy", and I instantly became a fan of Yoshi, my excitement continued when I got Mario Party 7 and I saw Yoshi on the cover. In fact Yoshi is probably the reasons I still play video games to this day. Yoshi remains to be my favorite character in video games, and I would really enjoy to be able to play a whole new adventure with my favorite video game character.

I can't forget Super Mario Sunshine on Gamecube. Loved riding Yoshi with his hover-like jumps. And eating enemies off like a lizard never gets old! I used to play the whole game hanging onto his back. He was my steed. :) Great times...

My favorite Yoshi-memory was when I was at the hospital, due to something mattering with my throat. I was about 11 years old and a little lonely, but my mother and father visited me as much as they could =) One thing I remember fairly well, was that there was a N64 in the room with Yoshi Story. My little sister was also joining with mother and father, and she saw me playing the first day I was there. I asked if she wanted to play and we took turns and played for as long as we could. When the visit was over, I really did not feel like playing it though........... it wasn't that I did not like it, I loved it! The art-style, cuteness, secrets and just overall atmosphere and joy I had of it cant be denied. But this adventure was something I shared and wanted to continue to share with my sister (and we still do to this day with plenty of games^^). We actually got to beat it 100% before I had to get operated :) I am from Norway btw^^ God bless and happy gaming! (Y) ^^

Such a cute game! ^_^ brings back so many memories from the SNES and N64 days. i have a ton of yoshi memories from back in the day, but ill just mention two, starting from the epic bowser jr. fight from the original yoshi's island when back in the day it was really scary for me because he was enormous and ran so fast at the screen and it just got bigger and bigger! *shivers* And the really funny memory i just can't get out of my head is the way Yoshi's Story from the N64 was such a cute game from design levels, artwork, sound effects, enemies, start to end it seems like such a cute game, and out of the blues when you enter the sewer levels you start hearing this RAP SONG! and i was left so confused after hearing singing yoshi songs; such a memorable beat ;) *raps along* thanks for making this play through and bringing back memories, and also for giving us the chance to participate on a contest to win this beautiful game. Keep it up! and thanks for giving international gamers an opportunity also. ^_^ Cheers!

I remember playing Yoshi Story 64 as a kid with my grandparents. They got me hooked on video games in the first place. The best memory I have was discovering the unlockable yoshis, black and white ones. When I found that black egg, it was so exciting to beat the level and see what it was.

My favorite Yoshi memory is that of Super Mario 64. His appearance there was his first 3D model, and for its time, looked fantastic. It filled me with such hope and desire to ride around the new 3D landscape with old time dino pal Yoshi for the first time after a long hardship of acquiring 120 stars...only to be denied that very chance as he turns around and leaps away into the waterfall, my imaginative child mind rushing after him, hoping he didn't kill himself. All because of the mere possibility of being able to ride him one day in the future in full 3D makes it my favorite Yoshi memory.

Well what I enjoyed about the Yoshi games is the same thing that I enjoy about the Mario games - its quirkiness, unique art style, and how one can find several awesome factors in its simplicity. My favorite memory was the entire experience that was Yoshi's Island on the SNES, and how it made me feel at peace while enjoying a genuinely great game. The boss battles were both hilarious and creative, especially the final fight with Baby Bowser...man, my seven-year-old mind was not expecting that.

My favorite parts of the Yoshi games has always been the music. Whether it be Flower Garden or the Athletic Theme from Yoshi's Island, or Love is in the Air, or Yo Yo Yoshi from Yoshi's Story, the music is always a delight to listen to. The music has stuck in my head years after first playing Yoshi's Story. Although the music in Story is simply one song remixed, Kazumi Totaka really made the soundtrack not get repetitive, even with only one song. I'm pretty nostalgic for Yoshi's Story, so I may be biased towards that game's OST, but I love hearing the familiar tunes whenever I turn on the game. Thanks for the giveaway!

My favorite Yoshi memory is a tie between fighting Raphael the Raven in Yoshi's Island, as I always thought fighting on a moon was an interesting concept, as was having him become a constellation at the end, and knocking over Pak E. Derm in Yoshi's Story. As a kid, it took me a while to figure out how to get him out of the way, so it was very rewarding once I did.

My favorite Yoshi memory.....the boss that you had to knock the pants off of. Not for anything amazing about that boss but for it being the first level I ever played of Yoshi's island on my first day at a new daycare that I discovered my best friend also went to. We hugged and sat down to play Yoshi's island on the daycare's Nintendo. My first gaming experience with my best friend. We may have grown apart in space and interest but it still brings me a smile.

My favorite Yoshi memory is the final battle against Baby Bowser in Yoshi's island the music gets so dark and intense while being so different to the rest of the music in the game it feels quite fitting and makes the game so epic. And it is actually quite terrifying when Baby Bowser gets to close to you as he just becomes so humungous making me wonder if he gets to close will I get crushed. This is not just my favorite Yoshi memory but one of my favorite boss battles ever.

As a kid I borrowed the SNES version of YI from a childhood friend of mine. My bro and I only grazed through the first few levels not caring (or knowing anything about) collectables. I thought the game was fun. When it was re-released on GBA, though, that was the version I loved. The updated sound cues from Yoshi were delightful and now that I knew about the collectables I took the challenge of completing the game. It was rough, especially with the last few extra levels, but I pulled through.

Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island on the Super Nintendo is by FAR my favorite game I've ever played. The gameplay and level designs are stellar, graphics are very vibrant and colorful and the music is ear-pleasingly awesome. My favorite part of that game HAS to be the Giant Baby Bowser fight. It has my all time favorite final boss theme in it... When I was a kid, I was TERRIFIED when he ran at the screen and got even MORE scared when I found out he can BREAK the platforms with rocks, AND HIS BODY WEIGHT! When I finally beat that... I felt like I accomplished a great thing in saving Baby Luigi and seeing that stork fly in Mode 7 paradise! The final screen truly felt worth it after all I went through. My memories of this game will never go away! Thank you for letting me share my fondness of the little gween donkey! Best of luck to everyone in the contest. P.S. I'm from Canada...

My favorite Yoshi game was Yoshi's Story from the N64, I played it when I was just a little kid and I remember finding it very hard. But I still loved playing it, I guess it was the bright colors =D I don't remember much of the game though, since I was very young. But I do remember a fire level that I could not finish. Even though I would never beat the game I still loved playing it. It was always those Fire monsters that killed me. This game has so much nostalgia I am happy that you guys are now doing a digital copy for people like me in other regions =D

This game looks very interesting and fun. :) Yoshi has always been my favorite character (I even have a 2 foot Yoshi plush). I have memories from Yoshi's Island (SNES) and Yoshi's Story (N64). For Yoshi's Island, going against Naval Pirahna, Raphael the Raven, and of course Giant Baby Bowser. The music is one of my favorite compositions from Koji Kondo. (Top 3 are Castle & Fortress, Big Boss, and Bowser fight). My favorite memory for Yoshi's Story is when the Yoshies sing after beating a page and it sounds like them singing "You a**hole". lol Anyway, thanks K-Wing and K-Wife for doing this contest. I hope I win a copy to enjoy this game, but I wish luck to everyone who entered. Both of you, keep rocking this and other Let's Play/Other videos! You both are awesome!!!

My favorite thing about the Yoshi games is how deceitfully challenging Yoshi's Island (I played the one on the GBA). Deceitfully because when I played it like 10 years ago, I thought it'd be a kiddy game but found myself at the game over screen more times than I could count. But I never quit the game. Though I never did finish it because it broke. It was one of the first games that made me enjoy hard games. A specific part being World 5: Ride The Ski Lifts. It was the level I got stuck on all those years back. So much fun, but at least back then (have not had the chance to give that game another go) incredibly difficult. Oh, and international.

I've got a lot of good memories of the original Yoshi's Island. I never actually owned but I borrowed it from a friend a lot and for a time a different friend. I'll never forget when I first beat it at 8 years old. When I first started playing I was confused because I finished almost all of World 1 but was hesitant to turn it off because I didn't know it autosaved and would be like Super Mario World and prompt to save at points. It was my first time playing a game that automatically saved like that. But the best part was the final boss. When I saw that giant Bowser I was in awe. I couldn't beat him until the next day. After I replayed that stage many more times just be fight him again and again. Its become one of my all time favorite boss battles and themes. I remember years later a friend in high school was playing the gba version and couldn't do it so he let me try and I did it on one try. That felt good

My favorite game of Yoshi would probably be Yoshi's Story for the Nintendo 64. I remembered playing it with my cousins but my cousins did not like them cause they thought the game was too easy. Until I explored everything in Yoshi Story and discovered the two secret Yoshi's (White and Black). and unlocked every level. That is when they noticed this game had a lot more to offer.I just love Yoshi games have a lot of personality. Like if the level it's a spooky place, the Yoshi can be scared while walking through the level, or like when Yoshi would get mad at some enemies and would go "Grrr.....". Anyways hello K-wing and K-wife! Hopefully you can read my comment and respond, it would make me happy! :D

my favorite part of the yoshi island series was on the ds a couple years back . My bug brother had to help me on all sorts of stuff. I am Such a noob :P. it was one of the first games i had learned to play very well and almost master along with my brother's help. My brother is the coolest guy around . B)

Mine is in Yoshi's Island for snes when you get the power star. Baby Mario turnes into Superstar Mario with a little cape and can run up walls with Yoshi following him as a big Yoshi egg :P

My favorite part of yoshis island is how in the game to the snes. Every boss was a reuse of an enemy you had already faced so you always knew how to defeat them.

my favorite thing from yoshi's island was the boss battles especially the raphael raven and baby bowser fights. never got to play yoshi's story for n64.

My favorite Yoshi memory is from the Captain N Show in the Super Mario World show in the school episode where the koopa kids, Oogtar, and Yoshi got in that fight and during the fight Yoshi momentarily sticks his head out and swallows the lone berry on the nearby bush.

My favorite yoshi memory was finding the special black and white yoshis from yoshis story. They were stronger when they were fully happy and they were shorter than the other yoshis!

My favorite part was beating Yoshi's island on my Gameboy. i remember i was playing it in a post office ( i think. some kind of business building's wating room ) while wating for my mom to finish doing what she needed to do there and i was just in the waiting room, playing yoshi's island, i was frustrated that it was so hard, i got to the final boss, i was super excited, and then i beat him. that was a good day in my gaming history
