Love how the Anime ended back where it all started. People call this cliche but to me, this is as poetic as it can get

Throughout the whole show, Yoshida has been nothing but a gentleman and a total chad in the eyes of many people, doing it all for the sake of Sayu. When she disappeared from his house and his life to go home, he suddenly turns to an emotional wreck and thinks about how much Sayu meant to him. God, what a show. 😢❤

ironically though, this was a throwback to the beginning which they can't get flack for but in the LN it was a little more implied that both A. Sayu home is not far away, it's whenever Yoshida is. And B. because of that, they likely ended up together was pretty strongly hinted.

I kinda hate watching this kind of anime where they'll make you fall in love with the story and its characters then when it ends it leaves you with that deep sigh of mix emotions from being happy, sad and empty all at the same time. I really wanted to see more of their romance after 2 years of being apart from each other. but sometimes as sad and bitter as it might be, good pieces like this are better left the way it did.

We really need an after story for this LN/anime.

Despite how Sayu acted before the start of the series (i.e. offering sexual favours to men in exchange for a place to stay) I will say that Sayu is still one of the most adorable anime characters that I have seen p.s. I am not an anime junkie so my opinion doesn't mean that much lol

Well good for sayu for getting her life straight.. but I applaud the guy for keeping his dignity as a man and staying true to his principles and feelings.. you don't see that often nowadays.

Seeing Sayu after two years like this will surely make you cry for a bit. After she went through on all that dark past she managed to go back to the right track with the help of those good people like Yoshida and the others. I hope they will make another good season of this anime that will show you how to live your life to the fullest 😉😉😉👍👍👍

Im a type of person who not really into romantic anime, but when i watch higehiro, i finish it in 2 days, we all know its really deep and good, its just one of the most heartwarming anime we can watch

The last couple of the episodes from Higehiro was a rollercoaster. Honestly liked it!

This anime reminds me of *Rascal does not dream of Bunny Senpai* . The first few episodes makes you think it's going to be an ecchi fest, but find out its actually a wholesome story with plot.

I once heard this story of a man who took in a homeless woman out of the kindness of his heart to use his shower and shampoo. He didn’t trust her yet, but every day after work, he’d buy some bread and go to eat with her on the street. Eventually, they became good friends. He motivated her to pick herself up and find a job which she was able to do. Naturally, they both fell in love after the many days they spent together. She would later move into his small apartment and become his wife. I loved this story regardless if it was real or not since it was just something I found on the internet by the proclaimed user in the story. That’s why when Higehiro came out, I was super super excited to see this series. I’m glad to say, it did not disappoint, and I highly recommend anyone to check it out if they haven’t already.

i don't know about everyone else but i really love this story. Aside from Inuyasha, Akatsuki No Yona, Kamisama hajimemashita, Snow white with the red hair and Kaichouwa Maid Sama, this is my currently go-to anime. I just love reminiscing the feels. I think some will undersand what i mean when i say feels. Even right now i still can feel these 2 persons' effect. This is just too wholesome. WHERE CAN I FIND A YOSHIDA?????? AAAAAND ANY ANIME SUGGESTION WITH THE SAME FEELS WITH SAYU AND YPSHIDA? OR THE SAME WITH THE ANIMES I MENTIONED?

I wish a movie for a proper ending

I can't help but wonder if they stayed in contact with each other during the course of the two years. With modern technology, it is easy to stay in touch and even "see" each other in video chats. Granted, it's not the same as being together in person, bit it is still better than nothing. And I don't know how paid vacation works in Japan, but you would think he could visit her on occasion. I never got the impression mom forbade them hanging out with each other, she just wanted her to stay home and graduate. I'm sure their separation was for drama's sake, but irl they wouldn't necessarily have to be cut off from each other.

yup its open ending but u can tell they end up together, in LN sayu still got yoshida apartment key as well and yoshida waiting for sayu for 2 years, he didnt even date gotou bcs he already fall in love with sayu. He said he wont waiting for her in airport bcs he doesnt want sayu to keep thinking abt him and wasting her youth, she could get a better man not some ojii san but sayu convince him she will never give up on him and will come to him when she graduate so thats why he said okay on the airport and keep waiting for her to come back

one question pops-out in my head after watching episode 13, will Sayu-chan will get what she wants from Yoshida in "physical way" ? I have no idea about the Light Novel and sad to say this Anime ended in 13 episodes only. How I wish they made it to 22-24 episodes to give justice to the other characters and other interesting back stories and beyond.

Man I wish they'd have actually adapted the Light Novel's ending. The very small extra scene makes a lot of difference in the overall context of what happened next.

Loved this ending so much. Episode 1: She was running away from something, she had no where to go, anyone would suffice, and she would do anything for a place to stay. Yoshida was an acceptable option as was anyone else. Episode 12: She was running to someone, had somewhere to fall back too, and would no longer do anything for a place to stay. Yoshida was the whole reason she was even there now and no one else would suffice.
