YOSHIKI - DRUM SOLO after 2 neck surgeries - No Audience Live - X JAPAN (LINE CUT) 

Thanx to my fans for supporting me. As you may know, now I have an ARTIFICIAL DISK (人工椎間板) in my neck. I was about to be paralyzed and doctors told me not to play drums anymore. Even though I'm still rehabilitating, you...my fans inspired me to come back to the stage. I can't thank you enough. Together let's prove "Anything Is Possible". Love, YOSHIKI ps I know.. I've been playing the drums for around 40 years. About 14 years ago I had to have a C6 - C7 fusion. Degenerative disc disease. I was in the US Navy Band at the time and got 3 weeks off to recover. Glad I did it but it comes with life long pain but not as bad as it used to be... good luck in recovery. Interesting solo concept.

Although I have little knowledge of you, I read your story after seeing this, and It only solidified the goosebumps I felt, watching you play. You really look and feel as though this is your element, something you emotionally connect to, so I’m happy for you, that you’re able to get to a point physically that you can do this again. Keep moving forward, you’re in this world for a reason, and obviously if you aren’t unable to play now, your reason still stands 🤘 From one musician to another, memento vivere 🇨🇦

I really felt the pain personified. In awe, it was probably actually painful to play, meaningful, and an emotional piece. I appreciated the additions of my favorite X Japan songs. I feel like Yoshiki really let us see the pain that was felt through performance. Imagine going through the past playing these songs in the kind of pain you went through? Such dedication to the art of expression.

I'm four months after C4-C7 fusion, which cleaned up 30+ years of damages from my time in the Army jumping out of aircraft and carrying my bodyweight on my back...I've been a fan since the first X-Japan Import album I picked up in high school and I'm overjoyed watching you perform your craft again...

The best part of this was Yoshiki being able to play double base drum for so long. The backgound music made it worse. It drounded out the drums. TBH, everything else is just basic drumming that any real drummer can do. I am glad his neck is better though and I wish him continued success. I too, have a very severe neck problem. I just wear a brace when playing.
