Just uploaded Yoshiko Sai's second album, Mikkou. Another user has uploaded Yoshiko Sai's third album, Taiji No Yume. Check 'em both. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fmnco7CKoYo.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jKZk-YwLDc4.html
"Whenever I read the comments on my albums in English, Spanish, Chinese, as well as Japanese through Internet, I feel they are all standing by me. Thank you everybody, and I am very happy to know that my works have transcended time and place, and reached many people." - 佐井好子 (Yoshiko Sai)
@@aqhbarshaiful it was a message that was sent along with the release of her limited release box set. That set included a signature by her and all her discog.
@Shin Shaman I'm talking about Japanese music from the 70s and 80s in general. When I found Plastic Love other popular songs of that time also appeared and then I found similar songs. This album is an example of this.
oh my god. thank you so much! i was wondering why this reminded me so much of the Inagumis soundtrack. how wonderful, as i've always wanted to hear some more pieces like those. anyone wanting to hear more of yuji ohno's music owes it to themselves to check out ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-o-e-Tnh8gjE.html
Only on RU-vid I find people who can appreciate aspects of Japanese culture. I never find this on FB or Instagram. I wish I could have drink with all of you, & burn one. Cheers! 🍸
This music makes my neck tingle. What an inspiration. What glee. I am not a Japanese speaker, but I have translated the lyrics and they are beyond beautiful. One of my favorite albums, to be sure.
I love this album. Music is universal-language. I don’t understand a single word, but the vocal goes so well with the music, it doesn’t matter to me that I don’t know the meanings
I was just bored and wanted to check out what was going on in RU-vid, so maybe I could open an album or anything to listen... This was in my recommendations and I am so glad I found another good Japanese singer. Beautiful music, beautiful lyrics.
last night my insomnia was so comfortable but dark at the same time, this album playing in background, smockin' my lady with no anxiety.. and the sun just woke up before i can even sleep a little bit. The day start before the end of my night. I'm so impressed this was produced in 1975 that's clearly AMAZING need more artist like that in our generation we have so many kind of music production in 2k17 ,but , they're all the same now, MAKE MUSIC WITH YOUR SOUL KIDS!
It's 4:52 A.M. right now, I'm still listening for 5 hours and have really positive, melancholic feelings. On one hand my mind is very relaxed, sometimes wandering off to some nice memories, on the other hand feeling emptiness. Incredible how magical is this music. Cheers guys!
Its funny because it appeared in my algorithm and I was like ¨Oh, what a nice album cover. Lets listen to this song¨ but when I oppened the video I saw that it was 48 min and a complete album so I regret it, but when I was about to close it I heard the first melody and went back faster than ever. Im just in the second song and Im already in love with her voice, thanks for uploading this masterpiece.
このレコードジャケット写真の様に、昼光でもストロボ使用し人物を浮かす写真が、70年代の主流だったね。当時のアーチストのジャケット写真にはよく使われていた。2021年の今見ても新鮮だね。 Like this record jacket photo, photos that use strobes to float people even in daylight were the mainstream in the 1970s. It was often used in the jacket photographs of artists at that time. It's still fresh in 2021.
Loudness - Pizzicato Five - Melt-Banana - Meiko Kaji - Asakusa Jinta - Ningen Isu - Lovebites - Yoshiko Sai .... That has been my travel through japanese music over the years. Of course I've heard more than these, but these are the artist that have stayed with me. I expect the list to grow :)
I listened to this album just once years ago on RU-vid. Now, all these years later, it suddenly appears in the suggestions. This must be the Universe putting this record in my path. I have to track down a copy. Just hoping the vinyl doesn't cost hundreds or even thousands as many Japanese records do. This music is too good to forget twice
Discovered this artist today. Stunningly beautiful music, even though I can't understand the words. Her voice reminds me slightly of French singer Veronique Sanson. If only I could buy her albums in the Netherlands. There must be some paper sleeve reissues around somewhere. Thanks for uploading. An immediate long term favourite this one.
I was also born in 1975. When I listen to this album I think about Andrzej Wajda - Polish film director who was engaged in spreading Japanese culture in Poland and created Manggha - Japanese Culture Center in Cracow - in the country on the other side of the world. There will be a day when I will be able to visit Japan eventually
Foreigners are discovering works that the Japanese have forgotten. Yoshiko Sai was a mysterious composer, popular with some people, but retired in 1979 and forgotten.
It's kinda funny. A friend of mine from Japan experienced one of those forgotten classics when he went to Europe for dance competitions. He was genuinely surprised by how much good music Japan had produced before he was born that he'd never heard of because never gets played in Japan. The record labels only care about pushing *new* music, because they want to get a return on their new investment, so the classics tend to abandoned. > You'd think there'd be stations playing the older stuff for the older generations, like in Europe or the US, but that doesn't seem to be very common in Japan. It's weird to me.
@@InfernosReaper To be fair for most of musical history the classics weren't preserved. Past musicians played what was new, preserving older pieces even in classical music didn't really begin until the 20th century when the ability to record was created.
@Dischargedarrow Getback Forgotten? I'm very surprised. Both the visuals and the vocals are very very strong. Some of the tunes are strong too and from what little I've gathered, the lyrics are quite edgy. There's a mystic atmosphere in the product which has to have its origins in some kind of substantial artful vision. In fact, I suspect that this may have some kind of anthropological value. The development, or fate if you will, of the collective Japanese psyche has always been deeply fascinating to me. Pray tell: Is Yoshiko Sai the name of the female on the covers who also the vocalist?
It has to be said that I truly do not understand why the algorithm would put this in my recommended (since I mostly just listen to Black Metal at the moment) but by the gods I am glad this album showed up. It is outstanding. Incidentally it was the actual cover of the album in the thumbnail that made me click on it. It is a fantastic cover
@@arklowrockz I used to listen to metal solely for 8 years and I became bored of it, switched to funk, made a funk band, ran across Japanese funk while looking for inspiration and now a bunch of Japanese city pop and the like are suggested to me.
this is the first time that I have heard a record so beautiful like this. i believe Yoshiko Sai must be known by more people around the world, if we look at record ´s year we find that she composed the album in 1975, nowadays we don´t find anywhere this kind of music.
Photography isn’t that hard honestly as long as your somewhat creative all you have to do is learn the theory of taking nice photos then just keep taking photos till it becomes natural even if you take 100 photos as long as one is good that is success
@@lebronejhames7265lol you just described why any art isn’t necessarily hard. “Just do it 100 times and you’ll be better” is how you do well at basically everything

this is so powerfully amazing that i'm going to pay the small fortune to get this used on vinyl, and then find a record player to buy so i can listen to it
Go for it. I've looked them up on ebay. They're not that expensive. I'm getting one myself. The only problem is gonna be getting this extremely rare jewel on vinyl.
@@edgardjuarez7610 i got it on vinyl, still in search of the right record player... maybe after COVID19 I'll be able to pick through the flea markets lol
What I like about Japanese is that after 1945 they took all of Western culture for themselves, but still kept their traditional culture and blended it together.

Na hr achei q tava loka, mas lembra demais Wish You Were Here.
