Great idea this is very futuristic. I applaud them for this innovation. I will be getting the flex 2 but next years version of this phone is we're it's really should take off.

I love the idea of using e-paper on the back of the phone. I hope they keep working on that... It seems like it could use a bit more implementation polish.

The e-ink back display looks like a winner. This feature would be cool to see on other phones, even if it's not a full mirrored display. Having an e-ink strip (to show notifications and time) on the back of some phones could be really nice.

Totally agree with the title, this so should have been the fire phone. If Amazon buys them out or partners with them they could market this as the kindle phone and integrate it with the Amazon bookstore so easily.

The "flickering" is the e-Paper refreshing. Because of the e-paper's low refreshing speed and the "shadow images" a quick flick of solid white, then black, will set everything back up and get rid of ghost images. It's fairly common in e-paper tech.

When you are using the front screen is interaction with the back disabled? For example, say I'm watching a movie on the front, could I accidentally tap the back and open something there without knowing?

It senses which way up the phone is, so no.

This is such a great idea, I just don't like the look of the phone. If they threw this on the back of the HTC Eye, or Note 4, I would be blown away. So much time reading articles, tweets, and anything really, puts a huge strain on the eyes from these vibrant high res displays. I think it's a great idea though, and hope it catched on. I would gladly just say "Hey I'll read this on the back" and save myself some battery. Not to mention when I'm down to my last single digit juice left, I'd just text on the black and white side. Awesome (Y)

How I wish we had similar phones today. That e-ink display looks good enough to be used during instant messaging situations, and to maybe de-addict oneself from the rest of the phone while still keeping it close by in times of need. That e-ink display could also make the battery last much longer when the main display isn't needed.

I hope more phone companies use dual screen technology like this. Don´t care much for the e-reader experience but for custom wallpapers & notifications, clock widgets etc this is just awsome enough to be up for consideration when it comes to buying a new phone. Kinda hoping the OnePlusTwo will have this feature

Gdsamplify Exept price, which could be very little. E ink display, they could go with super low specs and therefore insanely long battery life. How about 50-100€ for a device like that. That would be innovation, almost like device thats in between smartphones and dumb phones.

Wow such an innovative phone, if this were on a lg g3 or a note I would have definitely snapped this up. The form factor and low end specs makes this very much a novelty, as you said in the video. Good to see someone taking a different approach.

the extra cost probably comes from developing the software for the added e-display. seeing as how that what they're doing here isn't really a common thing. they must have had a few problems from the start

I love the ideas behind this phone. I want it to be a little better. A little more modern under the hood but the e-ink screen looks like something I would use all the time. I like to leave web pages up for reference and reading articles on it would be great. Normally I'd just leave my phone plugged in for this but with this I wouldn't have to. I hate to say it but I'd need this to be a little bit better than my M8 for me to go for it though, maybe Yotaphone 3 is the way to go. I hope they make it.

It was 2 years ago and now there is no content about this technology. Do they hide it? I dont know. There is no video on youtube about it. But i ll keep searching. It would be really great if they changed tablets with the e ink(a better version including colour).

I am very tempted to get one of these now that the price of them has collapsed. My only worry is the life span of the e-ink display. Amazon say that under regular use 18 months is a reasonable life span for them so once purchased it might have a fairly short life.

AMOLED displays have come a long way, haven't they? Even so, an e-paper display is still easier to read in daylight. I'm interested to see what the yotaphone 3 will do.

Wow, that is a REALLY good-looking phone. For all the edgy industrial design that gets thrown around these days, the soft curves this phone has - ostensibly outdated - are very easy on the eyes, and it just looks comfy to hold.

I really like the Eink display I would love just an Eink phone skip the other screen I think it would be awesome. But as you said too small a market. Make it a Kindle with a phone and I think Amazon could have a hit.

It's a little to pricey but I really love this new concept on a cell phone. Only drawback I see is that you have to handle this phone with great care. Also there are not going to be a wide variety of cases for phones like this

I've always been a big fan of E-ink displays. Hence, this is a very interesting device for me. But, I didn't like the curved edges on the back. It would be better if the iteration has flat backs like Xperias..

No it looks better with the rounded edges. If it had the candy bar shape it would look like every other phone out there. The Yota phone ,LG flex 1&2 and Samsung note edge is something new and refreshing and are the future of where smartphone design is going.

Guys please help me! I bought nexus 5 a week ago from shop and it was updated to kitkat 4.4.4. When i go to system update it doesnt show lolipop update! What to do ? I dont want to install it manually. Should I wait for it to come? I live in Lithuania. Thanks

For 800 dollars I can keep using my note2 and build myself a custom gaming pc, or I can get a note 4 and a playstation 4. It should be priced close to 250 to 350 dollars max.

I don't see a purpose of putting an e-ink screen the back of a phone.... Would be pretty cool to show off to friends but other than that I see the only purpose for it is to be for reading and maybe for extreme battery saving....
