One could make many of the same arguments as the street preacher to oppose the abolition of slavery, as slavery was permitted and even endorsed in both the Old and New Testaments. Utilizing this example is particularly relevant for consistency checking Christian ethics and application of scripture. At the start, I heard the preacher poorly reference 1 Timothy 4:1-3: "The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron. They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth." In 1 Timothy 4:1-3, Paul warns against false teachers who impose unnecessary ascetic (strict self-denial for spiritual reasons) restrictions for spiritual superiority. Using this passage to argue against veganism is inaccurate and in bad faith: Paul’s warning is against false teachings that impose restrictions for achieving spiritual merit or superiority, not ethical or health-based decisions. Advocating for veganism today is based on ethical concerns, not on restrictive spiritual mandates. The passage would also not apply to other reasonable dietary advice, such as avoiding harmful ingredients. To argue that Christ, who was perfect, ate animals, therefore it can't be wrong is also inaccurate and lacking context: Jesus lived in a time when vegan alternatives for essential nutrients like B12 were not available to him. That's all assuming he didn't know how to perform miracles and create B12 from plants. His "God" allowed animals to suffer for thousands of years, even killed a bunch of them, and loved the smell of their burning corpses as sacrifices to him. You claim to be a theologian, but I don't really see a whole look at who the Christian God actually was. He is the reason the word "holocaust" came to be, an act he loved that people did in his name so much he appeared to them in a dream and granted them wishes like a bloody genie. It's hard to always keep cool with such powerful feelings behind the beliefs/values. Sometimes people need to be assertively challenged on their actions...and sometimes they don't. I guess it comes down to how open someone is to listening and changing.

The translation of "FISH" when Jesus reappeared to the disciples actually translates to "FOOD" the ONLY bible that still says FISH is the KJV. So his ONLY leverage is false.
Despite having a post graduate degree in religion, this Christian has a first grade fundamentalist understanding of the bible. This is literally what they teach to children in the Church. The idea of an all-powerful and all-loving God is contradictory, but we can be open-minded to an all-loving God who is not all-powerful; this is one that might be worth aspiring to. This concept even aligns with the Holy Spirit of the bible. Nowhere in the bible does it claim to be inerrant. It is only recently that people claim this, despite the fact the KJV of today is a reiteration of a translation of a reiteration. When read with the gift of discernment from the Holy Spirit, the meaning of the bible becomes clear, despite the contradictions between the horrible actions of God and Gods' supposed all-loving nature. If the God Christians worship is all-loving then we can discern the accuracy of the bible accordingly. This parallels with applying an objective deontological moral perspective derived from pure logic, rather than any religious doctrine. Fundamentalist Christians are so scared to be logically and morally consistent, as this means finding fault within the bible and being shunned by the Church, instead of allowing the light of the Holy Spirit to guide them. Only truth can hold up against the harshest of scrutiny, so we ought to be skeptical of everything in order to come closer to a truer understanding of reality. Christians like him lack the Holy Spirit, evidenced by his lack of compassion for Gods creatures, and his strict adherence to the blasphemous fiction of the Old Testament God. An all-loving God does not want animal sacrifice, and even the God of the bible never wanted animal sacrifice. It says this many times after the Pentateuch or the Law, in the Prophets, and the Writings. One possible interpretation, commented by the all-caps person, is that it is Satan impersonating God in every immoral action made. Another possibility is that the Pentateuch has alterations to suit the agenda of the ancient Israelite authors who loved sacrifice so much. The biblical God knew that they loved animal sacrifice and would never stop. To deter them from doing it He made it so they must only sacrifice their best animals. The point is vegan belief is NOT equal to Christian belief and in Christian belief where there is a spiritual difference between humans and non human animals and plants. Fortified foods are supplements lmao, they don't come from nature like that. Just because some of these nutrients can be found in plants doesn't mean they're good sources, they either have low nutrient density or low bioavailability due to inefficient conversion processes or resistance to digestibility. Vitamin D in "fortified" plant milks isn't bioavailable because it's D2 not D3 which is not anywhere near as efficient even if you pair it with vitamin C. This goes for many of the other nutrients I listed too the omega 3 in plants is ALA which has to be converted to EPA and DHA and the efficiency for those conversion processes is 0.5%-5% for DHA and 5%-10% for EPA by the way, don't talk about bioavailability because you clearly don't understand it. Oh here we go with the appeals to authority 😂 all these health institutions, organisations and administrations take funding from pharmaceutical and food companies, they have financial incentives to sell you food that keeps you dependent on drugs and it's no conspiracy, it's a business and profit is always the incentive, many reputable researchers and doctors can attest to this ans if you knew how to interpret data you'd realise how unreliable a lot of it is. You shouldn't have to supplement to survive on a diet so pre agricultural plant based populations being unhealthier due to lack of fortified foods isn't a good argument haha. Evidence shows a vegan diet can lower risk of disease when compared to people on a standard western diet 😂 oh wow how impressive, you see how bad data can be misinterpreted now? You can also lower risk of disease on an animal based diet because you don't get energy dysregulation, cholesterol glycation or oxidation from mixing a high carb and fat intake causing metabolic dysfunction like people on standard western diets, why do you think pre agricultural homosapiens didn't have high rates of disease? Find me one person that has type 2 diabetes and doesn't consume carbs just one person. And no cows aren't bad for the environment, they are the environment. Regeneratively farmed cows are carbon negative, they fertilize soil and the methane they produce is absorbed by methanotrophs or turned into carbon dioxide for plants, your stats are based on factory farmed animals 😂.
When Jesus (peace be upon him) ate Fish was that in a different time whereby there was no industrialized farming and the animals were not tortured. 2. Animal agriculture then did not contribute to global warming and the destruction of the planet to the scale that it is causing today. 3. If he was to follow the lifestyle of Jesus (pbuh) today in order to call himself a true Christian should he give up driving his car and ride a Donkey instead like Jesus (pbuh) did back in those day. People did not have a choice between riding a donkey and driving a car back then and if they did would they choose to drive a car because it is better for them and better for the animal, just like choosing a Vegan diet. There is no verse where Jesus eats meat. It is written that Jesus was given fish when he asked something to eat after his resurrection, in order to prove that he was not a gost. The man who says that he follows Jesus's behavior should not eat meat, as Jesus didn't do. And could eat a pièce of fish or any kind of meal when he will be resurrected if needed.
Compassion is only real when it is shown to those who have nothing to give us in return. Religious people who have no compassion for animals only show compassion for humans with ulterior motives.
Apparently ‘’god’’ gave us free will, which means we don’t have to eat what ‘’Jesus’’ ate, and not doing so by eating plants harms no one so why would ‘’Jesus’’ be against that??.
