Mistakes everybody makes when they first start using the Love Ur Curls line:
• 🌿Don't towel dry your hair before applying the All-in-one and the Irish Sea Moss Gel. Instead, apply these products to soaking wet hair.

• 🌿The Love Ur Curls Line is concentrated and water activated, so make sure you emulsify it in your hands first with water before applying it to your hair!

I have a big question… I have been using Love your curls for a few weeks and I really like it, but how the heck do I get the underside of my hair from the nape of my neck down to stop becoming a rats nest of knots. Every single day it’s a nest of knots by the end end of the day (actually, by mid day).

I do too. I am taking a break from it because low porosity hair should not use shea buttet.

I just got the LUS starter kit last week and the first time I used it, I used the all in one and the gel, and was not happy with my results. Not much definition, frizzy, basically looked like I didn't put anything in my hair once the small amount of crunch from the gel was gone. The second time, I used only the all in one, but more of it. I was optimistic while it was drying that it looked better, but nope. Once it was mostly dry, it looked terrible, just like the first attempt. What am I doing wrong? I don't towel dry my hair at all when I get out of the shower and it's still dripping wet when I put product in it. Do I have to diffuse it every time? I have never been able to do that without it being frizzy, and I do not want to use heat on my hair, nor do I have the motivation for that kind of maintenance. I did plop my hair in a microfiber towel the first time. I skipped it the second in case that soaked up the product or caused frizz, but it doesn't seem to have made a difference. Do I need to twist my hair before I scrunch to define the curls better? Use a smaller amount of the all in one and more gel? Will it get better if I keep using the products for a while? Right now I am disappointed that I spent this much money on yet another brand of curly hair products that don't work for me.

Hi there! I’m sorry you’re struggling! It’s difficult for me to properly diagnose without being in the room with you and seeing at what point things start going awry. If you’re emulsifying the products first, applying to soaking wet hair, that’s a good start. Wet hair is very fragile and gets stringy/frizzy easily- so don’t over scrunch after applying the product, touch your hair too much or break up the hair clumps while the hair is drying. I actually recommend introducing a styling step (like the rake and shake method or at least brushing through the soaking wet hair in sections with a denman brush or similar brush ) after applying products, then GENTLY scrunching & microplopping rather than plopping. if you are airdrying it’s important to not touch the hair again AT ALL until it is dry. Some folks can airdry without hair getting frizzy, some folks have less success- each head of hair is unique!! The goal however is to have a good routine where you invest in lasting results so that you don’t have to do it again for a few days, for some people they won’t have to do it again for a week. I apologize I’m aware this might not be overly helpful as I know it’s difficult to give highly personalized help in a comment thread. I would suggest experimenting with new styling techniques to clump the curls and smooth frizz if that’s the challenge you’re having ☺️

I’d also add that if you feel you keep trying product after product without success , you might benefit from a coaching session with a curl specialist. It could be that there is a piece of the styling or hair health puzzle that you have been missing or overlooking that would make everything else easier; which I find can sometimes be the case for my clients.

Did you ever figure it out? I recently received my products and am having the exact results you mentioned.

@@mswanson819 I have found a routine that works pretty well for me. I use the deep conditioner every time I wash, partially because I need all the slip I can get and it has more than the regular conditioner. I use a good amount of the all in one styler product and I also use the Irish sea moss gel. I get the best results when I finger twirl before plopping, but I don't always have the time or patience for it.

So my daughter has the most unruly and tangled hair we will brush it dry and it puffs she showers and air drys it's instantly tangled..I think she has wavy or even curly hair especially since her mom said she was born with Shirley temples and was given a hair cut around 2 and since thencurles gone and tangles began. No one believes me but I had a friend (ex) who had a similar problem but I can't ask them obviously..how do we recover and get back to tear free days

you should try finding out her hair type by looking at a chart or even searching videos on how to do so, then try to find someone with her hairtype on the internet and see if their routine works for her, or you could even take her to a curly/wavy salon. hope this helps!

and if brushing her hair dry hurts, try to brush it while its wet!

@@Hikari2YAMI18don’t brush her hair when dry. Brush with wet hair and conditioner and be gentle. Also apply some sort of gel/cream before her hair dries to set it into place.
