Thank God for PSA's AAC Ammo. we can now get somewhat better or match grade ammo, now not just 5.56 it is even in 7.62x39 steel case and 5.45 and several other calibers, but from what I understand it still needs a bit more QC. However if it were not for AAC 99% of us (like me) would be stuck with standard ball M193 or M855...

1:7 twist for everything and here’s my logic: Longer ranges with 556 you’ll always use heavier bullets (77gr) which works well with more twists/rotation. For shorter ranges it doesn’t matter if you over stabilize with 55gr, CQB doesn’t need the same tight tolerances as long range shooting. Someone please explain why you’d ever need 1:12?

Enjoyed the show. A bit loose on some of the nitty-gritty details, but that is not what the channel is about. You guys might want to check the relevance of weight in bullet stabilization, long copper monos are a good reference point. And get a calculation how much energy is actually created by the faster spin, hint - very little (the copper petals blender effect might be a different story 😁)

There are sweet spots. I have a 1 in 7 ar ...it shoots 50 grs well and 60+ well..but not 55gr as well. My 1 in 9 bolt gun shoots 40 to 60 well. But 62 gr not so well. The 50 in the 1 in 7 is an anomoly. But I have heard others say the same. Harmonics or something. I guess you just to have to try it.

My questions are more for Jason: for 300 blackout, I see a lot of ARs with a 16 inch barrel and it has a 1:7 twist rate. Is that a good barrel length and twist rate combination for the caliber? And Is there a barrel length that I would need to go to a 1:5 twist rate? This was a great video gents, I learned a lot.
@Chefjbf
@Chefjbf 2 часа назад
1:5 is the best twist rate for 300blk. It stabilizes the heavy sub-sonic load as well as the supers. So you get the best of both worlds in that regard. You could consider it the gold standard. Not saying that other twist rate won’t work but to maximize the energy, and bc of the round 1:5 is the best
@BIGJAKE-sq4ds
@BIGJAKE-sq4ds 19 минут назад
@@Chefjbf does barrel length matter? I know 1:5 twist is best for 300 Blackout, but it's usually a short barrel. If you have a 16 inch barrel with a 1:7 twist, is that a good combo for 300 blackout ballistically speaking?
