Some of the devs have talked about how difficult the development of Morrowind was. It was do or die for Bethesda, and they were way behind schedule due to due to having to scrap their early build on the Daggerfall engine. The whole vision of the game had to change because they didnt have the time or budget to make something as large or with as many systems as their original vision had
@@BroadwayRonMexicoprettu sure they were also on the vwrge of bankruptcy, while developing morrowind, wouldve been the end of the company if morrowind did not sell well.
1. Between ESO and Morrowind Ebonheart moved from the mainland to Vvardenfell, because when Vivec visited Ebonheart, he loved it so much, that he directed that the city is moved to Vvardenfell. You can even find notes about it in the office of Archcanon Tarvus in ESO. 2. At the beginning of the Morrowind chapter in ESO, Baar Dau is way higher above the city Vivec than it is at the end of it, because it nearly crashed into the city. It then stays at the height it still is during the events of Morrowind in the third era. 3. In ESO the city Vivec is still heavily under construction and not nearly as big as it will be in the future. Those are only three things that come directly to my mind without having to start ESO first.
Morrowind, is by far the best of TES in the series, in a time of remakes this should have one(Not Skywind) an official one, but if it was to happen it'd need to have all the freedom that the original had to offer. Sure Oblivion and Skyrim are good, but I disliked how NPC didnt really drop their equipment like how they did in Morrowind. Also a lot of the unique/legendary gear was locked behind quest lines and character level in Oblivion/Skyrim as to where in Morrowind you could just venture out freely and discover those amazing things on your own. It really made the Exploration of the game meaningful.
Morrowind was going to be bigger? The game map is already insanely massive, I thought it was the slow movement speed at first but even with the boots of blinding speed it feels so big. Got a level 42 character and I've only seen a quarter of the map and I've only finished the fighters guild quest line. Morrowind is absolutely packed.
I mean this is literally every elder scrolls game they plan on making them these absolutely massive projects but then they just end up being shells of what they could have been
