Rammstein says it best in the song "Deutschland": Germany - my heart in flames Want to love and damn you Germany - your breath's cold So young, and yet so old Germany
One thing I have to give the United States credit for was they created the global security environment which facilitated the smooth system of international trade that has allowed countries like Germany and Japan to prosper without having to invade their neighbors for the resources to ensure long term economic growth of their economies. Great power wars haven't happened since that time in part because of the forward thinking foreign policy of the US in that era.
Well unlike Japan, Germany is filled with people that hate their own country and they have politicians (namely the left party) that celebrate the declining birthrate of Germans
True, Germany came back to become the top economy in Europe, after being completely turned to rubble. It’s unfortunate know that they are completely destroying themselves now again, but now with mass migration.
It is a common myth that being rejected from art school is what made Hitler form his opinions. This was 2 years before WW1. He would still have enlisted in the army and seen the defeat of Germany. This is the reason he decidied to go into politics. Not his bitterness of not being let in to art school
@@wonkeeeeee it‘s impossible. History does not exist in „what if“ scenario. Everything potentially could have been either the same/better or even worse if he got accepted. We simply don’t know and there‘s no option to tell
I speak German and hearing some of these songs is so hilarious. Like there were lyrics like "Germany is in danger, Germany is in danger", or "We are lost, we are lost, we are lost" and "Because the human is a human he needs some food. You're welcome!" with the tone of it all, it has something sarcastic to it Idk. I just can't explain it. That's such a weird and hilarious German thing of how they deliver their lines sometimes lmao

Centuries upon centuries of militarism, chaos, instability, radicalism... and now they're perhaps the most respected and admired country in Europe, an anchor of leadership for the EU, and a great and cherished friend. 🇺🇸 ❤🇩🇪
Hi mr . German , Im from Sri lanka. I have learned a lot about the nazis and I just want to know what do yall think about Hitler ? And is wearing a hitler mustache illegal in germany?
@@NIP_00 We have the same opinion about Hitler as the rest of the world does. Of course there are some insane people that think of Hitler and WW2 Germany as good, and on the other side there are also germans that hate the current Germany because of WW2. But these are minorities. And no, it is not illegal to wear a Hitler mustache, but you would attract unpleasant attention and look like an anti-social fascist.
@@NIP_00 Gute Frage...
I’d one day love to see “You’re Australian during” or any inclusion on any of your videos. We don’t have much to add to history. Only losing a meme war and acting as an XP farm in Turkey in 1915
Aborigins settled,Cooks exploring and conquer, big jail for political prisoners,Australian civil war, bombing of Darwin in WW2,that fight between Australians and immigrants in 2002...I think your country should have a great video with crazy history :D
Note: I’m not talking about the German politicians or historical figures. I’m talking about the ordinary innocent Germans who wanted nothing to do with all of these horrific events.
@@TheMostSteelDooshbagEver0451I read hundreds of letters from correspondence between German soldiers and their families. they happily discussed how the inhabitants of the occupied states are being killed. what kind of innocents are u talking about?
It's actually incredible how emotional pictures of poorly drawn men with some text and music over them can make people. These videos transfer emotional attitude of historical periods pretty accurately as far as i can tell (from a russian pov, 💀 since 2022). Memes are actual art, prove me wrong
The German-Danish war of 1864 was completely forgotten, although it was the first of three unification wars that led to German unity and the founding of the empire. - 1864 Deutsch-Dänischer Krieg -1866 Der Deutsche Krieg oder Deutscher Bruderkrieg, auch Deutsch-Deutscher Krieg oder Preußisch-Österreichischer Krieg (German war or German brother war, also German-German war or Prussian-Austrian war) -1870/´71 Deutsch-Französischer Krieg
Came here to say this. For Denmark, it was such a big deal that it changed the entire self-perception of the country, led to the greatest artistic golden age in the nation’s history, and had political repercussions well into the 20th century. For Germany, it doesn’t even warrant a mention in a meme video. 💀
You are a German during WWIII: Russia bombs Warsaw, NATO bombs Moscow, Russia bombs London, Germany bombs Paris. NATO: Germany WTF? Germany: Sorry force of habit.
Most kickass villain redemption arc of all time tho. Luftwaffe and US Air Force flying together... Marine and Royal Navy ships side by side... could bring a tear to my eye.
Invading Soviet Union instead of invading UK in WW2 had got to be the biggest blunders in military history. The insane millions of deaths on the Eastern front yet neither side collapsed or surrendered showed the insane amounts of determination and sacrifice to fight to the bitter end.
the thing is they believed they could not invade the UK without far too great losses, their naval battles against British and American navies and merchant marines failed to cut supplies to the UK and weaken their navies. With British and American navies enjoying supremacy in the seas, any crossing of the channel to attack Britain would be disastrous. The Soviet was thought to have only 1 year left before they finish restructuring their armies after their purge then they would break the non aggression pact, the ideological differences between the Nazis and Soviets were too great and both knew it was only matter of time for war between them. Plus Germany were in desperate need of resources from west and southern Soviet territories. So choices was to hit the Soviet while they were still unprepared and has surprise and potentially gain the resources rich territories they desperately require, or try to invade Britain across the channel where their navies rules supreme and fight a prepared and entrenched enemy supplied by their empire and allies. And have to win, recover from the expected crippling loses and redeploy to the East in just 1 year to face the now organised and prepared Soviets while starved of resources.
@@C63Bez The Soviet were one year from completing their army organisation at which point war between Germany and Soviet was assured, the non aggression pact between them was to buy time for both sides to get sorted (Nazi to secure Europe and Soviets to finish organising after their purge), and they both knew it. Britain was still fighting and attacking Africa and Southern European territory. Once Japan attacked America the US joined the war and it was a matter of time until D-Day. For the Nazis they had to expand and seize the Soviet oil fields or Middle East the British still control. both Japan and Germany were being starved for oil.
They did not invade the Soviet Union instead of the UK, they failed to invade the UK due to British naval and air superiority after the Battle of Britain, and then invaded the Soviets after operation sea lion failed.
@@penitent2401The soviets still couldn't defeat the germans. They needed the lend lease from the U.S. The german war machine was wayyy to advanced. When hitler wanted to open another front not all of his generals agreed with it.
ask any German that lived through it about the reunification and you'll get lots of answers which are more like "eeeh... yeah that happened", "our east german relatives came over and wanted a car as a gift... I hate them", "Bonn should have stayed the capital, or some other city, not Berlin!", etc. I mean damn I know a girl from Berlin which hides from her parents that she is dating a boy whos family came from West-Berlin lmaoo
I would've add the golden 20s where women could dance all night and everyone could do drugs legally. And the great depression where everyone quite literally became depressed.
German history has always been really fascinating to me. Relatively speaking, Germany as a nation is pretty new, yet they've done so much in that short amount of time, it feels like they're as old as their French, British, and Russian counterparts. I love the way Norm MacDonald (RIP) put it, saying: "Germany terrifies me because they went to war in the early 1900s, and their opponent... THE WORLD. And you would think they'd get beat pretty quickly, but no. It was close. Then, about 20 years later, they go to war again, and who is their opponent this time? THE WORLD. And again, it was close". (Not a direct quote, just paraphrasing the joke he was telling. I recommend watching that bit, it was funny)
Except that in the end reunification actually left Germans resenting each other. East Germans believed their loss of jobs, income and culture was because of the west and the west resented the east because they believed they brought all their problems over and slowed the economy. Despite early excitement to unify, they soon missed their old lives.
even if you are a russian during battle of berlin its just too brutal sometimes the killed ratio of sovients were like 2,3 times more than germans even though they were winning
Empire Oh no it broke Oh no france Oh no russia Oh no we still split Yay unificate!! Wait our friend got headshot!! Trench war!! We got tons of russia!! America?? Nooo our money Look at that moustache, sir isnt that iconic? Wait a minute where is our ga- *russia announces that It has suspended all Gas supplies to germany.*
Germany did not just get another chance and let off scott free right after the end of ww2. It was partitioned for ~45 years from 1945 to the fall of the berlin wall between the allies and the soviets into west and east germany. West germany developed into an independent liberal democracy while east germany was a closely controlled communist soviet satellite state. Once reunited it was clear that germany had no more intentions of aggressive expansion
Because is partly to blame for the second world war. Why? The Treaty of Versailles fkd the economy damn hard, enabled the rise of the Austrian Painter... Maybe but just maybe, when the treaty was more "fair", we wouldn't got the second world war or anything else. BUT: Wars are pretty good for inventions...
Yet the Soviets still suffered twice as many loses during that battle, and in total, Germany killed way more Soviets than they even lost by the end of the war lol.

If you are German during the Napoleonic war you are not smirking especially if you're not allied with Napoleon. Also what is considered German at this time anyway?
Germany was by no means a small country in WW1, it was probably the second biggest nation in Europe after Russia And it was arguably the strongest nation in the world at that point
@@snunz_38 Germany just increased their military budget by $100 billion They just released a new tank, called the panther, same name as the tank from World War II The Nazis used.
