This is great worship... I just wish her background singers were more focused and spiritually led... She said “with ONE VOICE”, and she THEN turned around with ONE FINGER in the air to communicate that she wanted unison. Although this song appeared to be effective to the congregation (thankfully GOD COVERS!), background singers MUST keep in mind that we/they MUST stay focused and with one accord with the lead worshiper... Although the vocals are nice, I saw a lot of carnality...the guy licking his lips (which appeared seductive to me-not to say that I liked it...but that seemed like what he was aiming to get across to the viewers)... one of the girls were so focused on her hair and being pretty/cute that it was a distraction.... We MUST remember that everyone is NOT only looking at the leader, and one wrong move could take those that we are leading to a place of carnality or impact the atmosphere negatively... I hope this is taken in LOVE, as this is definitely coming from a place of love...💜💜💜💜
I saw none of that until I rewatched.... I am s background singer and the guys lips were more than likely dry .... that happens .... and really u have to understand you never know when cameras are zooming in and out on u... they all appear focused and many times when u have a guest praise n worship leader you dont have rehearsals with them ... you practice songs but not worth them... the leader may make changes in how they want a song so therefore that is so normally to change up on the midst of a song... ( so they have to watch her) so do the musicians .... I only responded bc I sing backs and leads... and direct choirs ....
Sherilynn Ivy I never saw any of this because I was grateful to see young ppl like myself in church giving God praise.. I am musician and have done my share of leading, directing and arranging.. however we it comes down to church.. things happen but if your focused on the lord and getting into his presence.. you won’t have time to look at me and what I’m doing or what anyone is doing.. Let us remember we are trying to get to Jesus.. bc there’s no real book in the Bible that says on etiquette on background singers or leading and what is the specific way of doing things.. What if the girl with the hair, hair was in her face and what if the guys lips was dry.. we don’t know what’s in there mind but Jesus himself.. We should remember what Jesus said Judge not.. that’s why they have leaders to tell them which way to go.. Let us just praise the almighty Jesus Christ that we have young ppl singing to him, and not shaking the body and singing for the devil.. remember we want to encourage the young ppl, and keep them in the church not run them away over something on how you feel and what you saw and your interpretation
My Lord not about popularity, how many vocal techniques can be used, etc. Singing praises to God is about a heart position toward Him and Him alone with all that we have to glorify Him. Blessings to you
