Dude I hate hate hate when people use the argument of 5-15 isn’t a big deal! Like you said we are meant to be investing… buying LOW… so searching for an extra 5 minutes to find a site to minimize tax cost/free shipping. Need to count every penny even when you become wealthy enough to disregard pennies.
Surging Sparks booster boxes are no longer in stock at my distributor don't see them coming back anytime soon. That ebay seller is now sold out and $110 per box looks the cheapest for a case atm.
When youre buying 1 booster box in the EU, its cheaper to pay 120 for it than find someone who has it low, ships to you country, and has good shipping rates, to maybe save 5 eur.
hyrdro pump still got surging for 105 , josh's card has it for 105, tic tok has fall deals u can get paldea for 120 a box, steller for 95, paradox and scarlet and violet base for 91 , pokemon center has crown zenith bundles at 23.94 right now also walmart has 151 posters for 15 bucks, plenty of fire deals
I'll pass on the consumer mentality. When the booster boxes go to $150 you're gonna be saying "nah you need to buy and hop on this crazy deal like RIGHT NOW! You'll never see these crazy good prices ever again" or something like that. Perspective makes all the difference. If I want to casually buy ONE and it just so happens to be at $110 so be it. It's not that deep fam. Personally I'm frugal but also think long term. I'm not gonna talk myself out of something I want just to save a few dollars in the short term. I'll take good service over a sketchy site with "deals" and sky high shipping costs any day.
I make sure I win the auction, I bid against myself in another account just to increase my odds of winning! And I pay extra for expedited shipping and insurance. Also I tip well.
Here in the UK you can buy Fusion Strike on the Pokemon Centre for £143 and yet there are sales on eBay for £160, work that one out. People are also overpaying for the SS PC ETB's on eBay even though they're still in stock on PC. Very strange.
Not strange at all. For the sake of £17 you are able to view the quality of the booster box and are also covered by Ebay should it not come as described. I have bought a large quantity of booster boxes from PC over the years and maybe 1/15 boxes always comes with damage whether that be a small tear or a straight Stanley knife split at the top from a case being opened by a lazy PC employee. Obviously when the booster box gets older the condition of the booster box is as important as anything else given that it will most likely be a collector purchasing it from you, rather than a rip and ship streamer that will take the cheaper alternative route and buy loose packs. Again for the sake of £17 this is why people do it. It's no mystery 🙃😅 If gains were looked at on a basis of purchasing a minty box for £17 extra then that would be very worrying 😆 Side note: PC will 100% of the time refuse a refund/return on any product that comes damaged or teared as stated in their terms and conditions. As they put it "these products are made to be opened".
@@pokemattsden I don't know if I've just been really lucky but I've never had a problem with PC and I've ordered a lot from them. The packaging has always been immaculate. Sod's Law my next order will get damaged now. 😂
@@monkey39128if you buy large quantitys your always running that risk. I do re mention that for £17 you are protecting that risk from buying from a third party source that covers the buyer. If your buying fusion strike for example for £143 you should really be holding till it at least goes to £300+ If that is the case then protecting yourself for £17 seems worth it too many.😊
@@monkey39128 Same here. Grabbed a fusion strike and brilliant stars and they're so fresh that they're still completely straight/ not warped. Fingers crossed for us both on the next one xD
If you are thinking about price, and only considering the price a year from now, you are a scalper. Investors are thinking about the price 5years + out. Should you try to get them at the lowest price you can, sure. But you also shouldn't hold out waiting for the price to come down because it might not
Do you buy from a physical brick and mortar and hold for 5 to 10 years, or is it mainly online buying and holding, have you sold back to a brick and mortar store after 5 to 10 years or only ebay and fb marketplace?
I agree to a point however that SS listing is gone already. you can still find it around that price but even if it's 105 and it does take off to 115 or 120 at release your doing alright especially if it ends up taking off in your example you get an extra case but if you don't buy at all because it's 105 or 110 and it shoots up to 200 per box are you gonna kick yourself about that 1200 or that you missed out on 5400 you didn't make because you didn't buy in at 110? Especially with such a fire set with this much hype.
You're the one overpaying, get your head out of the sand and dont wait till SV is 200 a box to buy like you did with 90 dollar SWSH boxes. Don't get caught sleeping again !!
Realistically it should just be a multiplicative of the booster box price. So if a case has 6 boxes and each box is $100 you should expect the price to be around $600. Anything else is scalping or a more expensive set most likely.
@@monkey39128 i don't think bro collects he's never posted his collection" he just posts about his investments" not all of us tie up money in index funds...some of us like tangible assets tbh personally i don't think there's anything wrong with his perspective either if he can make a few bucks doing what he does I ain't hating i'm happy for him
Exactly! that's what I'm saying. Trying to get the absolute best buy price down to the pennies is such a waste of time and effort. If you really want deals, you negotiate or use coupons. Mindful spending and looking for deals is still good though lets not get it twisted.
@@monkey39128 ik what you're thinking. Being a mindful consumer is always good, let's not get it twisted. Just don't start thinking you're some sort of genius because you paid $5 less for a booster box.
@@monkey39128 paying an extra $10 a box at release is immaterial for a five year plan. Would paying an extra 10% above market price for evolving skies booster box today make a lick of difference when you offload that box at $2,000+ in five years?
