Also the wear on the shoulders are also dependent on the width of the rim. Just from what I noticed from autocross the narrower the rim the more it rolls over shoulder ie pulls it in and the wider the rim will stretch the tyre so it’ll push the shoulder outward and make the side walls stiffer

Very informative! Great way of experimenting. With the tire pressures. Never even thought of the difference in weight from the front and back. I just put same psi in all my tires.

This is the main reason we rotate the tires every 3-5000 miles (5-8000km) especially on trucks with big MT tires. It helps even out the wear. Great video though.

Hey D. this is an interesting vid. my new truck gonna be running 275/65R18 and i feel im gonna do this test as well just to see where my contact patch would be at. im gonna link your video to Ronny Dahl from Aussie RU-vid channel and get his thoughts on this. i believe he also made a vid on tire pressures. normally on my previous trucks i would run 29 front and 28 rear. but according to your test, i will do it then possibly change my pressures. that would save me from rotation of my set too often

Ah yess tire pressure is the key to traction and ride. I have 285 75 16 Mt on a 2.2 t7 ranger and my rear is 25 psi an front 30 psi

Difficult to tell from the video, but is there an incline to the area you were testing on? Yourself sitting in the vehicle while carrying out the test might balance out the weight of the fuel on the opposite corner

How can I know how to pressure my tires they are a very low profile and they study burst at under 30 psi and over 38 they swell and cut very bad can't even drive with them I using 22 inch rims

This results wil be different if u have the different weight right?

Tyres in the rear still gonna wear unevenly when you are on the road and the tyre heats up. The pressure will rise by about 2psi or so ...... do that test from cold to run ing temperature and see. .. ..

I am new to the truck life, but can't you use the tire pressure printed on the tire?

I have a hilux modified by Arctic Trucks. Our laws say that the vehicle can not have other rims than what is entered in to the registration of the vehicle. My vehicle is engineered to fit 37x12.5-15\17 with -52 offset. I struggle finding -52 offset rims from anyone else than arctic trucks them selves. This is annoying, because i want beadlock wheels. You guys have any idea where one might be able to get a hold of rims with -52 offset in 15" or 17" size?

Nitro fill my tires in the Hilux. Bridgestone At with stock rims.
