In this video we discuss how to earn lots of points and your field upgrades in Battlefield 4 by being an effective squad leader. Keeping everyone focused can be challenging but ultimately very rewarding. If the squad leader makes sure to mark objectives you will earn a TON of points. This is how to rank up quick.

Great video. I play BF4 for the squad play and this video highlights just how important that can be. I just wish DICE would provide some way to let you know when you have been made Squad Leader. So often I'm running around and it's not until I try and spot someone near an objective that I notice that I'm now suddenly squad leader.

There is a notification that pops up on your HUD when you become squad leader, but it isn't very clear. I'm with you on this one. I also wish there was a way of promoting a squad member to leader when you're not feeling up to the task. Instead, leaders must make new squads every time.

for Battlefield 5 do need to go back to the old Battlefield 2 mechanic of having squad leader only mobile spawn points as an alternative to Flags spawning that would make the squad leader a lot more important

play Hardcore Mode and you will only have the ability to spawn at your squadleader while the sl can spawn at every squadmate

I'm curious to know if you ended up making the video with the more in-depth review of the Squad Leader feature, like you talked about at the beginning of this video. I'd be interested to hear what you have to think. Like you say, teamwork is paramount to success in this game, its amazing how little people seem to realize that.

Actually I hadn't gotten around to it. I'll add it to my project list. Videos have been slow for me lately as i've been working a lot and my internet was down for a bit. Getting back into the swing of things. I'll make a follow up soon.

Thanks! If you're on PC you can get a $5-$10 standing mic at your local electronics store. Well worth it even if the quality suffers. Happy squad leading!

How to mark objectives.. my teammates keep saying request order but I only give them Attack/Defend, and then I saw there was no line toward the objective aka order on the maps

I can not thank you enough for this video. Squad orders are the most important thing ever. They have been there in BF3 but in BF4, the benefits are doubled. Usually when I join a new server by myself, I check every squad to see if they have squad orders up. If there are none, I either create my own or at least try to ask politely for one of the leaders to put them up. Usually that doesn't work.

I'm glad to see feedback like this and happy to know i'm not the only one who thinks this way. I've had hit or miss luck asking for orders when i'm in a squad, but sharing this information on the web and in game will definitely help. Thanks Mafia.

Just came back from a round of siege of shanghai on ps4 as swuad leader, and yes , i rlly do miss the teamwork aspect of battlefield

I would probably peruse the squad list in the team management screen as soon as I joined a server and join the squad that has the most members with mics. I would also do the same thing before I turned into the commander, that way I would know which squads can actually hear what I'm saying and will respond when I give them an order.

I've learned to do the same thing. I feel like i'm always way more successful in a squad that is communicative and having a squad leader who marks objectives.

I believe I was using the Ace 23 with Tac Light/ Muzzle Break / stubby grip and the L85 with laser sight / suppressor / ergo but I may have changed the L85 a bit. I use the L85 like a PDW and just hip fire close range.
