Groucho is so addictive! I've been watching Groucho in movies, TV shows, and on 'YBYL' for over six decades now and don't see any end in sight. I've tried watching modern TV shows but, I can't find anything even close to the quality and acerbic wit of *The One and Only Groucho Marx!* It's been some 70 years ago now and the closest we have to Groucho is a few P.C. morons who make their living trashing everything that Americans hold dear, no thanks, I'll just stick to Groucho! 👀

I remember listening to G on the radio before the TV show went on the air. So much better than anything on today.

@@m42037 The first television broadcasting began in *1928* but it was experimental, and the audience was limited to a small area in the Maryland suburbs of Washington D.C. By 1939, the National Broadcasting Company (NBC) became the first network to feature regular broadcasts.

@@MrMenefrego1 You frequent Groucho's vids much? Yes you can read that on Google. As i said the FCC allocated 300 channels in july 1945. The first colour flim was 1936.

Most comments offer interesting points of view, some even explain specifics about contestants that were a relative, and nearly all express some sort of admiration for Groucho and the unique nature of this program. What is revealing is the type of person who feels compelled to create some dust-up (over different points of view between posters) and redirect the nature of a discussion to being an argument - it makes me wonder if these writers have become basically combative in their outlook, so that in whatever the circumstances, their radar is scanning for a target? Groucho showed, by his agile and fertile mind, that a quick wit does not need to be hurtful - even when he "went too far", I've been pleasantly surprised to see many displays of his true concern for others, and not just being a joke-meister. Thank you for making these wonderful programs available.

But your thinking of the redesigned green seal $2 from 1976....which on the back has the 'signing of the declaration of independence'. The previous 1963 and earlier red seal $2 had the image of Monticello, Jefferson's home

You’re wrong. So called “popular” music today totally sucks. Music back then was real. It had real tunes, real rhythm, innovative harmonies, and real character. Today, all the songs sound the same and they all suck.
