My great grandmother Ada was one of the black patch gypsies, who the romanies from the series are based on. I still live not far from Smethwick. Thankfully a plaque was placed there not long ago commemorating the forgotten dead and the influence they had. My family to this day still speak of the Charlie Chaplin connection alluded to in the show. Many historians believe he was born on the black patch, as does his own son. Loving this playlist!
