There's something beautifully tragic about these huge servers where people show up, build something crazy, and leave. Never knowing the story behind the build or the person who did it. There's got to be a word for that kind of melancholy.

That one person who put a roof over their crops so they couldn't get trampled might be one of the smartest people I've ever seen.

a very interesting mod for this server could be distant horizons. it adds a very far render distance with Level of Detail. would be cool to see it and it is entirely client side

Building challenge: an entire base (it must have everything that a typical base has, but it need not be huge) that doesn't contain a single full block (only stairs, slabs, walls, glass panes, carpets, fences/gates, etc). If glitches like falling-sand entities on armor stands still work (the sand doesn't break into an item like with torches, allowing you to make a gravel/sand/concrete powder slab), you can incorporate those. Building challenge: the Ames Base. You've probably heard of the Ames illusions...the rotating Ames Window that looks like it's rotating in half-circles, the Ames Room where a thing moving inside it seemingly changes size, and the Ames Chair where the shape of a chair emerges from a seemingly-chaotic jumble of sticks (the chair shape can be seen from four different angles). How about a base that uses this illusion to hide the shapes of buildings? Redstone and functional projects can be incorporated, but the floor plan (allowing the illusion to manifest) must be respected. Building challenge: Nowhere Man lives in a Nowhere Base. I suppose everyone's heard of the Bridge to Nowhere, and surely everyone knows about Dr. Who and his TARDIS machine (it's bigger on the inside). Let's build a base that straddles the line between two dimensions. This one will work better with mods like Immersive Portals (RIP GPU...) but it can also be successfully applied in vanilla. Building challenge: Cursed Base is Cursed. This one's a two-parter for extra fun. Firstly, no squares/cubes allowed...except as forced by Minecraft (it's a cube-based game, after all). Circles/ovals, spheres/ellipses (3d ovals), triangles and pyramids, lines and squiggles, cones and cylinders, these are your building pieces. Secondly, as a play on words, the place must be dark and creepy. No space is allowed to be brighter than light-level...3. Build challenge: Outside the lines. Building-wise there's really no change, except that everything's backwards...trees are "ores" buried in the ground, while ores grow on "trees" built from underground blocks (dirt, clay, gravel, sand, stone, etc). You "breed" hostile mobs like creepers, while passives get processed in mobgrinders.

Reminds me of the time I played on the server set up by Game Grumps fans. It wasn't superflat, but there was a decent sense of community. And, of course, the builds and towns to explore.

Great idea you should build planets with spiders on the top of cobwebs above the giant spider on your Tower

Is there a server map download? If there is, then is it a LIVE one? And when I say live, I mean that every time you download it again, there would always be something new that a player has built or had modified it in the world. Did I make that clear...? (I really hope there is) But it is hugely impressive TBH!

From my point of view there are three main types of servers 1: The server that has that guy (or group) that ruins everything. 2: The server that isn't really exciting, usually the transition between the two others. 3: The server that has a nice and wholesome community, they also help the new guys. I am proud to say your server is a type 3.
