This is a quick highlight of my "Level 1 Scavenge" stream where I tried and showed off the badge cloning/duping glitch.

This glitch is kind of insane. All you need to do to clone ANY BADGE is to pick up a badge on the overworld while you're at the badge limit. For those who didn't know, the badge inventory has a limit of 200 badges. If you pick up more the game will prompt you to toss a badge.
Unclaimed badges have always been intended to show up in the badge shop, just so you don't accidentally lose a one of a kind badge. This even was the case in the GameCube version of TTYD.
HOWEVER, what's NOT intended is for a tossed badge to IMMEDIATELY show up in the badge shop. This oversight in the remake allows you to duplicate badges.
Just toss any baddge you want to clone and pick it back up. You will keep your copy AND one will show up in the badge shop.
The best part is that you can "easily" get 200 badges as soon as you get access to the Pianta Parlor after chapter 1. Then you can literally start cloning by picking up badges from blocks.
Also since I now finally have access to the fabled triple Simplifier, I had to check out some moves with it. Some things are funny, some are buggy. Infinite superguards anyone?
I'm sure a lot of you already know, but on May 23rd 2024 the remake for the GameCube CLASSIC Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door released for Nintendo Switch!

The challenge I'm doing in this stream is called a "Level One Scavenge". The more well-known version of this challenge is called "Level ZERO Scavenge". In that one you are not allowed to equip badges, effectively being Level Zero. You could also do a "Level -1" challenge, where you ALSO can't use any FP.
I'm doing the "easier" (read "more fun") Level One variation because equipping badges allows for more fun setups and makes it more easy to slide in my own "no superguarding" stipulation. Why? Because superguarding is boring.
With the preamble out of the way, let me explain exactly what this challenge is.
I can only upgrade BP upon level up, but am only allowed to use 3 BP for the whole game. This makes level ups effectively useless, thus staying at level 1.
The "scavenge" part means I cannot use ANY shops or vendors, you can't buy ANYTHING (except the Contact Lens). No Badge Shop, no Item Shop, no Dazzle, No Parlor, No Merlee, nothing. You also can't use cooking. The only resources you are allowed to use is what you can find out in the field.
The big one that isn't exactly clear from the rules is that you CANNOT upgrade any partners. You are stuck with their base ranks. No Multibonk, No Stampede, No Bob-ombast. This really turns things you take for granted on their heads.
And then of course...no superguarding. Use actual strats. Not the B button.
