Hey because of this video I bought one of them fan brushes and it has changed my life. Just the brush alone. I cried. No tangles, nothing. I'm excited about my hair now
It’s more of a priority thing, most of us can afford it but we feel as though the money would be better spent elsewhere and see these products as a luxury.
Avoid expensive premade products, find out what they're made of and most things can be bought in bulk for way cheaper and made at home. You might need to save a little and it'll seem like a big upfront cost at first to get what you need, but then you realise that what you make can last for ages.
Time to loc up! I paid to get my locs started and have been doing the rest on my own. Only need good oil and good shampoo and you're set. I spend so much less time, stress, and money on my hair now, best decision I ever made.
@@sequoiaaenot everyone has enough money to be spending on things like hair products. Some people struggle to put food on the table. And some don’t have enough time either, they may work long hours in their jobs to support themselves or their family
@@zoeandersongirl people got lives to live. Some can't even afford cheap shit. Stop talking. She might now have the time to care for herself. She might have kids or multiple jobs. Hair isn't important
@@zoeanderson With what money fam I make just above minimum wage. I’m busy doing schoolwork, keeping myself clean and fed, and also working. I do not have time or energy for my hair I just make sure it stays washed and conditioned and it works fine.
@@JustapersonnamedKai I mean yeah if I had multiple jobs and kids trying to keep things afloat I wouldn’t worry either. I’m not that worried about it right now I just wanna pass college lmaoooo
@@1xgenni no Ho you shut up. She quite literally said in multiple videos that she has “type 4 hair.” and I have 4c this isn’t 4c because we have tighter curls aka coils. and when her hair is dry it doesn’t go up straight into an “Afro.” it stays down. before you call someone out for being “wrong.” correct yourself first boo.
I’m brown with straight hair and I’ve always dreamed of curly hair. I know it comes with a lot of work and political/social baggage for black women so I completely understand it’s easy for me to say that and more than just a hair type; but I genuinely have been in love with it for years. I’ve been curl training for years and unfortunately it’s only upgraded me to waves 😭💕
What black women need to learn is that YOU DON'T HAVE TO HAVE LONG HAIR, stop obsessing over long hair. The goal SHOULD BE to have HEALTHY HAIR and healthy hair can be short and overtime will grow. Embrace that it's short and come up with short hairstyles. Also stop cutting it if you want it to grow, it can't grow if you go snip snip snip all the time.
I don't understand the comments about not being able to afford it and not having the time when literally there was a woman that told me the same thing, "she could never take care of her hair because of time management and money" but she had me take her to a place an hour and a half away to get a $900 (I'm not joking in the slightest) wig installed. And it took the whole day for this installment, I went back home and went to pick her up and found out AFTER picking her up.
A lot of people use way too much product at one time and use too many different products. I bought huge tubs of expensive shampoo and conditioner (Pureplogy hydrate line, close to $200 for both of them). I bought that over 2 years ago and still have half a bottle of conditioner and a little less of shampoo (gotta shampoo, rinse then shampoo again). I use expensive stuff that lasts me a long time because I don't dump a bunch on my head. The amount she is using in her hair in the video is probably the amount I use in 3 months... maybe 4. It's too much. She also should not detangle her hair in the shower. You do that before you get in. Hemp seed oil works the best to detangle. Use oil not water. The thing with the expensive wigs is that it's instant. No trial and error and for a lot of people a wig is just as good or better than having their own hair to take care of. Doing your hair does take some time, not a lot if you're doing it right, and some people don't want to put the love and energy into doing their own hair. I do, I love my hair. But, no matter what someone chooses to do with their hair is up to them. Also, people say genetics and all this stuff matters. Genetics will play a roll in your density, porosity, and curl pattern. But everyone can grow hair. Some do grow a little faster than others but everyone can grow hair, if you're taking care of it the proper way and a lot of people aren't.
@@kristin122 That's what I find is the issue, I don't even use as much product as she's using in the video either, but I have locs so my hair takes a good bit of product because my hair is way longer. With wigs, people can do what they want, but sitting in my face to tell me the only reason they have their hair because it's "unmanageable" is honestly disrespectful, especially when I clearly have my natural hair out and they wanna congratulate me and make me seem like a trooper when like you said they just don't wanna put the effort in. I also believe that it's a complete myth with everybody constantly saying it's genetics when it's honestly not. The only thing that's affected is like you said, density, porosity, and curl pattern. Nowhere does it say you'll have short hair for life because that's just what's in your genetics, hair constantly grows just like nails constantly grow. And me coming from a background where most of my black family hates their natural hair and still does, they look at me crazy because I have locs, so because able to love my hair the way I do weighs heavy.
@@kristin122I was with you until the detangling part. I'm genuinely curious to how the oil works? Because with conditioner in your hair, it helps to not have breakage. When dry, it breaks EVEN MORE, especially if it's dry. So is the oil like a soft coating on the hair that causes the brush to run smooth enough to run through it, preventing breakage??
@yoongisamericano2722 it helps to brush through with less damage. If you have split ends, damage, or haven't combed your hair in days, weeks, months, your hair is going to break and fall out. It's easier in the shower with conditioner but that does not mean your hair is not being damaged. Your hair is weakest wet, so if you have damaged hair and detangle wet, it's just going to cause more damage. Easier does not mean it's better. You cannot see as much damage when it's wet or curly.
@kristin122 I mean, it is easier, yes. But I haven't felt too much damage and breakage on my part when it's wet. I see it most when it's dry, actually. since I may be playing with my curls one moment, it knots, and just breaks off for no ideal reason. Perhaps it varies from person to person? Because I've had my hair detangled dry countless of times by professionals or just plain family members who do my braids, and it's the worst for my hair since it breaks off way more than when I detangle in the shower. It causes frizz and dries my hair even more. Be it with oil or not
all it takes as far as genetics go is being a human. any human can grow long hair. you just have to know what your hair needs and how to take care of it!
@@coffeebean4356You’re hair grows and falls out at a certain rate. You can take care of your hair & master length retention. But If that time period for you is shorter, then you’ll have shorter hair. If that time period for you is longer you’ll have longer hair. It’s not an excuse…it’s literally genetics. Not everybody will have long hair and that’s okay.
I love you so much you’re the best person ever making products for people with your type of hair/my type of hair is amazing. I wish I could buy it but my mom is going to say no.😢 my hair only goes to my neck and is uneven, and I have dandruff
@@milogtcollegeYou know what, that's your opinion and you are entitled to it, but publicly voicing you opinion in a way that could hurt someone's feelings is not okay. You don't have to feel the same way as me, but that's no reason to make this creator feel bad about herself.
I definitely took advice from the black queens and kings on RU-vid and my black queen as it pertains to taking care of long hair. When me and my lady met almost 3 years ago I had waves. My hair touching my shoulders now due to her and watching y’all on RU-vid.
No. 1-Stop putting on lace fronts as a “protective style” 🙄 and actually take care of it and it let breathe. They ripping out ya edges giving you Fiveheads.
I love that she’s not all in your face like “my company is the best you have to buy from it” she’s like “you just need to find what works for you.” She truly does love her audience ❤❤
First of all: YOUR HAIR IS SO PRETTY I CAN'T EVEN 😭🤚 Second of all: I feel like I'm really lucky to have long, straight, healthy hair. From what I've heard, curly hair is REALLY hard to take care of if you already didn't know how to take care of it! So everybody with curly, long, healthy hair, y'all must be really good at hair care :)
Your hair looks so healthy and bouncy 😭 I’m white and I have straight/wavy hair so I don’t know much about this hair texture, but your tips are really helpful!
@julyfareed3810 Learning how to wash YOUR hair type correctly, condition your hair type, comb, and style your hair type. Those tips are good for anyone.
Even with fine straight hair it took me years to find a good combination. Breakage, thinning, excess oil, tangles with the slightest touch. I couldn't even grow it long because I would loose half the volume to breakage once it passed my shoulders. It drove me nuts. I was 34 years old when I found the routine that worked for my hair. I think all hair types have their challenges.
@MsLusciousclick I started using the mielle rosemary and mint hair mask (strengthens and encourages growth), then a good leave in conditioner for all my ends. The cream one with biotin from hair heritage is good. (The spray ones do not work as well) The mask will remove oil so you can cut shampoo out once or twice a weak (too much shampoo strips the scalp of nutrient and creates more oil), brush hair before shower, use conditioner on ends before and after shampoo, and use leave in every day. Most importantly, I do not brush my hair until it's 90% dry. Wet hair is weak hair, and our baby fine hair is more fragile than most. It's seems like a lot of products, but if you use it on the right parts and use just enough to cover the ends and keep it from tangling, the breakage will slow and the strengthening products will help. It may need some tweaking on your part because all hair is a little different. I learned my hair is craving moisture, but the right amounts in the right spots. A good tool to use for our hair is bore bristle hair brushes too. They are made of hair, so they are less likely to break our thin hair. It takes some technique to use, though, so don't get frustrated.
@MsLusciousclick No worries. I wish I had gotten solid advice years ago. Helping is a pleasure. I hope it works. Edit: Also, be patient. It took a few months to see solid results. The tangles will disappear almost immediately, though.
I have 4c hair. Thick. My hair broke off because I was letting it sit in a bonnet. and not taking care of it properly. Learnt my lesson but now my mom is finding new ways to grow and make our hair healthier. my hair is getting back to it’s “original.” length and I’m happy. The front part of my hair is almost back down to my chin and the back part of my hair is past my shoulder.
When I grow up I’m definitely going to use those products and stuff because my look handles my hair and doesn’t know what to do with it and doesn’t take a really good care that’s why I always complain about wanting long 4c hair and it’s hard sometimes
Thank you, i hate when people complain about 4c hair, saying its short or impossible to manage. That just goes to show your not taking care of it After i did a big chop i saw a difference but it still took long to grow until a few months ago when i started a routine, i saw many inches of growth in just a short time.
I am so proud of you you are a wonderful young lady you need to do a speaking session to young women and men even children ❤you have a positive outlook powerful impact to your Future don’t let no one tell you differently God has already started you on your Destiny God Blessed continue to walk in your Anoit❤❤
Isn't the dumbest thing ever to say about one's hair⁉️ First, there has to be some mindset resets where all the lies about ⚫️ hair are debunked, and here's the first debunking live and in technicolor!. Next, as Rose says, spend time learning and embracing your hair! This is especially true for we, the lucky ones with 4c type hair! It's the most beautiful and magical hair of all the hair types. Yes, I'm biased towards 4c!😀 As a young girl, when my mom did my 4c hair, she'd say, your hair is so coarse and thick that it's lovely unlike my fine and thin hair. The point is learning to ❤ your hair. Hair that's loved is treasured. Treasured hair grows. Despised hair dies. PeriodT
Not even jus black woman I’m the whitest you could possibly be and my hair was shit bc I didn’t know how to take care of it. All woman underestimate the power of knowing your hair and taking care of it. The difference is unimaginable. Not trying to undermine your message or anything like that bc Ik some ppl make get mad but women in general, KNOW YOUR HAIR AND HOW TO CARE FOR IT. Much love to everyone ❤🫶🏼
As a white teen with wavy hair, curly hair always fascinates me! It’s so beautiful! Especially like how hers is! Your hair is beautiful! I’m glad you know how to care for it!💙💙
I rarely put hard gel on my edges. I also don’t braid my hair going straight back. I never let them dry out. I use grease and moisturizing conditioner. The same deep conditioner she uses. Shea Moisture Manuka Honey masque. You also may need a protein treatment.
Girl, I agree. It took me a good 4 years to get my hair care perfect. My hair always looked good, but when I started taking better care of it, my hair is longer. Plus, I'm now in high school, and I'm taking cosmetology classes.
So happy for you!! Congrats!!🎉❤ this was my hair when my mom was taking care of my hair in Elementary and middle school until I tore it all out once I told my mom that I wanted to take over and start doing my own hair... never was the same again😢
