Hey everyone! How can I help you and serve you? That's what I'm here to do! I also want to thank all the new followers that have joined recently. I really, really appreciate the love and support you all show me and I'll do my best to earn it. I'm trying to level up my production game for everyone right now, haha. I don't own a proper video camera yet. I've been using my smartphone and sometimes a DSLR.
I'm interested in hearing more about excersises for strengthening joints. My joints have aways been the limiting factor on my ability to do workouts or sports.
Can you talk about nutrition? Like how to make nutrition easier for people who may not be able to afford to eat like they want to or should. Or alternatives for making common and possibly unhealthy meal a little healthier. I think for many (like myself) it can seem overwhelming trying to understand macros and whatnot.
@@justanotheridiot6188 I've been wanting to get into better shape but going to a gym is daunting because it's more of a meat market than a place to get healthy. I wish more trainers were like this man and your coach.
It depends. Some people derive motivation from being challenged. You may call it "shaming" but the reality is it more about challenging the person to push past their limits than anything approaching "shame". Typically this is a more competitive person. It isn't effective with everyone, but if you are that kind of person than he would not be the best fit for a personal trainer. There is no "one way" to accomplish anything when it comes to fitness. Every person, every personality, every body chemistry, and every body is different.
@@scribbles1424 - why do you see this things as mutually exclusive? When I lifted regularly I saw the bigger guys and used that as motivation, to work longer, or to put in more days then they did. Different strokes I guess, but for me a meat market is perfectly conducive to getting healthy. But that's me
He’s like one of those people who when they are with a Karen there just like “I’m very sorry ma’am do you think I could help you” or smt and he has enough patience for people y’know
I like the supportive terminology he uses. It's not, "You're doing them wrong." it's, "You're progressing too quickly.". It's amazing how word choice makes all the difference.
“There’s no reason to be ashamed if you can’t do a push-up” Thank you, This made me feel less insecure about not knowing how to do push-ups. When I was a kid my gym teacher called all the kids in my class (including me) weak for not knowing how to do them. Way to motivate people 🥲
is it not knowing how or not having the ability to do them... there's a big difference and I haven't met a single person that doesn't know "how" to do one
i think he was trying to motivate you by calling you "weak" to prove yourself to him, and train at home come back and prove him wrong but (s)he did it wrong, and you can do it at home, its really easy if you think yourself into doing it. for example one day im hyped and say that i can easily do 20 push ups, and i do them. Another day, though, im not so sure and im completely exhausted after 10. its mostly about the mind and the body comes after from my experience.
@@grqfes yeah I get what you’re saying, I’ve been trying to get in shape recently. I just find it more motivating when people who are trying to help others are more uplifting about it as opposed to being harsh.
It’s called discipline, they do it in the military. It’s where they might yell at you or tell you you don’t know how to do anything right and if you can bare that, then you can improve and become disciplined and know what your doing
The fact that he didn't link me to a quiz about my body type, didn't promote or sell a subscription to some gym lessons and exclusive diet tips, he went STRAIGHT to the point and didn't stall just for watch time makes me want this guy as a P.E. teacher...
@@itskindasus9730 because you probably have a ton of body weight your biceps triceps and shoulders can take that And you are lying about “i nail every course” Stupid you nail everything but can’t do push-ups i would say you are showing off And making excuse of ‘nailing everything but not push-ups’ LoL
I heard that. Broke my elbow when I was younger & to THIS MF DAY it likes to act up when I’m doing push ups. So I’m always only ever doing “knee push ups”.
@Kayn Rhaast my english is also weak, not my first language 😄. Short ans - joints are made up of cartilage tissues with some synovial fluid in between them for lubrication. Cartilage can't grow as fast as a muscle can, so you must progress your weight training very slowly allowing your joints to adapt. That's what he meant in the video
@@chubbymetaldude Thank you. Make sure you stick to it and don’t give up even if some days you feel like giving up. Btw I can do atleast 25 pushups in a set now, but I don’t do them as often anymore, I just go to the gym
When he says "3 sets of 50", does he mean 150 wall push ups at once or 150 wall push ups in a day (50 morning, 50 noon & 50 in the night) or does he mean do 50, take a short break, do 50 again, take another short break, then 50 one last time???
@@superdooper1830 yeah they're always the fragilly masculine dudebros that have to call all the weaker kids little girls or wusses for some reason and get confused when they cry or give up
this is how fitness SHOULD be taught. not shaming you for not being in shape enough to do the hard stuff, telling you that you can do it, and reassuring you that there's nothing wrong with going slow.
Yeah honestly kinda rethinking how we treat kids who do push ups on their knees during football practice granted its high school ball so we think they should have it down but Idk mabey we shouldnt shame them
@@Idk38193 TBH why shame anyone? I mean we all have feelings, and a life. I mean if you were in their shoes of life, wouldnt you want them to treat you nicely? Treat other how you would want to be treated. (paraphrased Matthew 7:12)
@123 Kidd Is it normal that I didn't even see he was Asian until you mentioned it? But wondering if he was American, thinking his long hair suits him, his house seemed awesome and beautiful and he was overly soothing nice and helpful.
I can't stress enough how much I love the way you talk about being unable to do pushups. Every single one of my many gym teachers and even personal trainers made me feel inferior that I wasn't able to do them. Needless to say, that didn't really motivate me to keep going. But once I saw the title of your video "You CAN do pushups, my friend", I was like "Oh?..." and guess what, I love progressing now :) Instant subscribe, keep doing great work!!
I mean the regular trainer isn't wrong, if your fat, your fat can be some people can be really stubborn about it so some trainers need to be forceful and may come off as a bit rude
My cousins kept calling me stupid for calling them kneeling push-ups instead of “girl push-ups” because my school/teams/everywhere has always called them kneeling push-ups
@Mike Strom yeah I'm not saying he's the only guy that disagrees with calling them girl push ups it's just that he's the first guy in my ENTIRE life that has disagreed with it
@@HimothyHumphry yeah I skipped one or two steps because I didn't had enough equipment but I did pushups in steps as shown in the video so that they were not so hard at first and finally now I can do 20+ pushups at 15 years of age
@@andrewzavala9633 you’re obviously a man bro u realize they’re called girl push-ups bc they’re easier than normal ones, for weaker people, the fact they’re called girl push-ups is indirectly saying women aren’t as strong as men. the reason why it’s called a girl push-up on the fitness test is bc of how women were perceived as weaker since forever bc of misogyny that’s been embedded into our society.
@@yuliuka6449 Genetically women lack the same amount of muscle mass as men. Doesn’t mean women can’t be strong and workout all it means is men are more often then not naturally stronger then women. Either way who the fuck cares if it’s called a girl push-up by a lot of people, when a term becomes generally used by the majority of society it looses a great deal of discriminatory nature, many of nicknames for things are based of stereotypes. Also just for the record there are no official fitness instructional manual or video that uses the term “girl push-up” scientifically.
I genuinely think it's just a colloquialism. Not a good idea to ascribe malice to things that may well be neutral. But of course, context matters. Could be demeaning, could also not be. Would depend entirely on the specifics of a given situation.

People call them that because it's the push-ups girls were being thought in school (at least when I was young.) The school system probably didn't think girls could (or should) do regular push-ups so they were thought the easier ones instead.
@@---nobody--- when someone is nice it means there is a reason behind it. Some feel obligated to, others want to, and some simply have the ability to be nice.
This video is so... calming. He doesnt shame you if you cant do a pushup (even if it might seen embarrassing), he teaches you how to do it while being as nice as possible. This is how a workout video should be
I disagree personally I would like to be pushed and they are girl push-ups because they struggle with actual push ups are a lot harder and girls are weaker it’s a fact not an option
@@turtlebot323 two things. 1: girl pushups arent called girl pushups because girls are weaker, it's to degrade people whi need aid in doing a normal pushup because it's not "manly". 2: what I mean by him being calming is that he doesnt shame you for not being able to do a pushup like lots of other workout youtubers. Being calming and understanding that someone is trying is a lot better than just telling them to man up and do it
Definitely " not everybody can push themselves in one moment haha " There will be people that would be rather traumatized than cope with their fitness" This is a good reminder that life is a different race for everybody and the only competitor is yourself :)

ive been using this as a guide so that i can do my first full blown pushup. i started by just barely squeaking out 20 wall pushups and now i can do over 50 and i can even get a couple of knee pushups out! thank you for your kind videos giving me the courage to do something im not used to :)
@HimothyHumphry I've been able to pop out 5 push-ups recently probably more but I'm working on slowing my push down. But if your consistent with your wall push-ups you can definitely build up to it.
when he said that they’re not girl push ups it warmed my heart, whenever my pe teacher said that the girls would do the knee push ups i always got mad and did the normal ones to spite him lol
@@Wildridefilms in who could do more pushups??😂 Idk where ur from, but our pe teachers would always make us do boy's vs girl's, in primary and middle school. @@lawyerreactsnotthemoon85 interesting... Where I live in girls are not allowed to compete with boys because they complain about minor injuries a lot. I remember when I was in like 8th grade we had a mixed football match(soccer). A girl tripped on the ball and scraped her elbow and blamed it on a guy who was trying to tackle her. So boys here avoid playing with girls most of the time.
After being unmotivated, I came across this super chill dude, who has super great vibes-(as previously mentioned by @[zip])- he has motivated me to achieving my goals. Now slowly but surely (almost based completely on Hampton’s methods ) I am on my journey to greatness. Thank you so much Hampton, and keep up the great work
Imagine if this was your highschool gym teacher, instead of someone who mocked the kids who weren't athletes and played favoritism. THIS is a true educator. Knowledgeable, compassionate and wants you to succeed.
This is so true. I almost never had a good gym teacher. In my class it always was all about being athletic and cool. And they were bodyshaming the other kids, of course.
Yea my highschool gym teacher mocked me for not being able to do a push up but whenever I got mad he ran away once when he was teaching health class I got really angry while having a conversation with him and I got up to put something away during the conversation and he tripped on a desk while backing away from me when he was 10 feet away from me already. (Obviously I never put my hands on or threatened anyone).
@@unravelmysoul1598 English isn’t my first language and I actually was very surprised when he said girl push ups, because were I come from we say easy push ups. Assume that a girl should do the easy one or is incapable of doing the complete version is sexist.

I hated my PE teacher. He kept saying "you run like a girl, you hit like a girl." I flipped out one day and asked him if he ever watched the Olympics because I was sure there were women that run better than you. He ended up getting fired. Not for only this, he was just a mean dude.
"fitness is a journey" **Freaking casually vibing like that** But seriously, I wish I had you as a PE teacher, you are super understanding and really helpful!
Same tho, in grade school we would track pushups and separate them from girls to guys and rank the highest (Top 5, I had low iron so I had to be careful doing this but it still hurt my self esteem) the guys top pushup was 80 while girls was 40. Then he said “Wonder why they're called girl pushups.” that girl that did 40 is now planning to go into marines, she is really strong and is on the football team at my high school ☺️ Sorry for the long story, I've never told it before :)
@Jose diaz wow dude.. you are just sad. Sounds like the only way you get some selfesteem is by degrading someone elses. Just please stop talking to people.
This guy is the opposite of your pe teacher Pe teacher: do 50 pushups can’t rest nor do a plank for resting, hurting? To bad this is your grade so do them. This guy: let’s start easy
Kids today are too soft. I appreciate this guy and him helping folks find fitness, but children who quit in PE grow up to be adults incapable of push-ups. He’s working on a symptom not the cause.
@Kyle Gosal Or it's how you discourage them from continuing. Why shame people when you can educate and encourage? Sounds like some people just want a reason to be mean.
@Kyle Gosal See that's the fucking problem. You discourage people, and then they quit and you say "well they were weak all along" like wtf is that? Who in the world is already strong when they start working out? Thats some toxic sour-grapes bullshit. The point should not be to constantly break people down and call them failures once they've finally had enough, the point should be to encourage people to grow stronger over time.
Your attitude when it comes to fitness is so refreshing. Watching someone spreading love and self-acceptance rather then self-hate, while still helping you into getting fit, is exactly what the world of fitness needs more of. Keep it up bro, greetings from Italy!
The key is consistenty 1 month ago i could barely go down on a pushup let alone push up but ive been doing these and one kneed pushup now i can do 2 all you needa do is keep at it ans dont giveup 👍
“This is a great therapy exercise that we DONT NEED TO SHAME” Exactly! I hate that. Also “Pushups should NOT hurt” I guess I’ve been doing something wrong then, that really blew my mind
Doing a let of reps in a set that doesn’t garner immense pain is healthier and more consistent to fine tune your muscles, while doing hard/high weight exercises with low reps in a set is good for building chunks of muscle but it can be dangerous as a lot of people don’t know when too much hurt could lead them to a hospital. It isn’t always wrong to try for the more risky method, but this video is for beginners and a novice should always start with the safer and more consistent method.
@Bald Gang it’s just annoying more than anything. you say “girl push ups” and a guy gets hella shamed for doing them. That’s just my deal with it. Dunno about everyone else tho. 💀💀
