This is how a new game plus mode should work. All you keep is your dex info, it'd be so easy to implement and give the games so much replay-ability. I'd want more options, but this would be the easiest win for them imo.

I agree - pokemon games would greatly benefit from new game plus system where you could also pick easy/hard/deadly mode. Hell maybe they could have an inbuilt nuzlocke mode since it's such a big thing

Please! I was able to get through all the contests to the Brilliant / Shining Contests with maxed out visual stats on everything via the poffin guide, but no matter what stickers I use on them I can't break past half on visual in the Brilliant Contests so I'm stuck on Ultra of Brilliant Contests. Idk if there's special stickers you need to use on those ones but I've tried about everything with little success.

Visual is also based on the poffins But it is also based on which stickers you use since only somestickers will give a boost to cirtain stats

Early Nat Dex might make for more interesting Nuzlocking or challenge runs in BDSP. The added variety would be a welcome change.

I love that you go to the trouble of finding these things out and then sharing with the rest of us. I will most definitely be doing this and in fact - to address the the resource issue, I might attempt to have all the Pokemans holding a bunch of balls (with consent) - it'll be a lot more fussing around but might be worth it to Shiny chain so early! I played through Pearl all the while saving all my nuggets, tms, and the sort to trade over to my Diamond game once I had successfully found a shiny starter on Diamond. Now that I have my shiny starter on Diamond and am progressing through the game this is MUSIC to my ears. Time to see if I can complete the dex from trading with my Pearl game and from Friends who played through Diamond already. I'm actually really stoked to find out about this! Thanks so much!

This could be a fun way to do Nuzlockes. Sure the initial set up is a bit tedious, but once you have the Sinnoh Dex completed for the first time, that’s arguably a majority of the process done forever, just transfer them over and back for every new file. You can use the Pokéradar for route encounters and the underground encounters will have been greatly expanded. AND ROTOM! I can see some arguing about the validity, but it can just be listed as a new type of one of the many nuzlocke subcategories as a workaround.

Have to say your the only channel i got to for info on pokemon, cause well your info is always 100% on the money, ypu give some big tips witch are just amazing, and you dont go for click bait stuff like "oh to get more then one of this pokemon etc etc" its more like "hey we just found this thing! And its cool! You"ll love it" i have never walked away from your vidoes feeling mad or lied to. Thank you sir keep up the good work.

Gotta say that I've been loving having my national Dex early. The underground is amazing. What have I done with it? Idk I haven't left the underground and my shiny hunts but it's amazing being able to raydar. Though it's HARD WHEN YOURE POOR. Pickup has been my bff.

I'm definitely doing this for my Shining Pearl playthrough after finishing Brilliant Diamond. I'd wanted to use Rotom on my playthrough team since he's one of my favorite Electric types and I thought it would be cool to switch his form to counter each gym.

@@seasonalbuck4345 That same team syndrome really doesn't want to let go. I used Luxray on my team for _every_ Sinnoh team in gen 4 and was planning on using Electivire this time. After catching my Electivire I was looking for a Synchronize Abra with a specific nature to use for catching something else and found a shiny Shinx. And I mean, it's not like I'm going to _not_ use a shiny the game just hands to me. It might be Brave instead of Jolly and it might have Rivalry instead of literally _any_ other ability, but those aren't enough to make it unusable for the story and they can be fixed in the postgame.

@@RikkuEcRud I think that's a fine exception if you've never used a shiny luxray. Even then, a random shiny is definitely enough to be an exception :D Though I always encourage people to use Pokemon they normally wouldn't, cause it's how you find new favorites and appreciate more Pokemon.

The reason Eterna City is the flag? In D/P once you got the Nat Dex that's where Oak hangs out - I presume it's the same here. So you need to progress to the point where the game knows you can access his spot.

The problem with the finite funds could also be easily worked around if you give your mons that you switch around between to get the dex either Pokeballs or valuable items to sell. That's if you really want to PokeRadar for shinies very early in the game.

Theres a menu glitch right now and you can get 1.4 million pokedollars for a 50k investment..you really only need 1k to start it out

I don’t know if anybody would know but back in the day you could clean your gym badges. You can still do it using the touch screen portion of your switch. Just some thing I’m glad they kept in the game.

I found this out on accident by losing to Cynthia. I had went to get the national dex once it was complete. I had to go back to trigger the gym refights.

if you lose to cynthia or any other E4 member you need to redo all the previous fights. So that sucks, but it is what it is. Just make sure to save after each victory so that if you do lose you can reload with a different strategy. if you can't win no matter what, lose and go level in the undergound.

@@JJiG Buying Revives and Full Restores/Max Potions/Hyper Potions and reviving and healing endlessly another thing one can do in during the fights and between the fights.Eventually, their powerful moves run out of PP allowing you to KO their Pokemon.

omg i wish i had figured this out! i really wanted to use rotom and shaymin on my first elite four challenge, but you had to have the pokeradar to do the shaymin glitch, and i completed the entire sinnoh dex except for palkia (i had bd), and everything i looked up said it was only possible to get the national dex after the elite four. i had even found and evolved a feebas!

i wish pkmn had mutiple saves( maybe also shared pkmn box, kinda like home but just for that specific game.) then give us diff modes that allows us to start with the national dex, randomize, hard mode. and so on once you have a "cleared" status on one chracter. ik itl never happen but it would be cool.

Or just make them hold more Pokéballs. Though the expensive items would probably be better, you can buy 25 Pokéballs for a Nugget, so you would ba able to make each wave of trades bigger than the last.

Theres actually a menu glitch right now, if you trade some pedestals you buy from veilstone city and get the small gems then turn them into large gems, then fly to orebough city and hit up and a at the same time you can buy 999 TMs for like a 50k investment that sell for 1.4 million. On my game i bought all the outfits and 300 of every useful pokeball, full restore, and revive then maxed my money out and i got 999 tms in my bag. Ganna be prepared for any future patches now. I believe the youtuber blaine has a video out, its super easy to do

If you cycle through a living dex by trading, but don't keep anything, it allows you to nearly start with all 3 starters by lv having you as the original trainer.

Just a fun note you do get to be able to mine the mysterious shards for Ramanas park as soon as the Nat dex opens. I finished my Nat dex pre elite 4 so I've found more things to procrastinate finishing the game.

I got the National dex before league. And yes you get the radar it was so cool and get competitive pokemon nature hunting kadabras by chaining to get modest and adamant nature's synchronize. Then beat the league just to get the chain tracker.

Well the only reason to do this would be if you want to catch your own national dex pokemon during the main story... But you don't really need it since you can trade eggs over. (Also don't forget if you want early money you can just trade items over and sell them.)

It’s not gonna be easy. This method he’s saying you would have to trade 151 times. I actually got the national dex early legitimately, but i had around 6 badges and it was a Grind. Spiritomb took forever to get early.

I haven't beaten cynthia and got the nat dex by viewing all 151. I tried to beat cynthia but couldn't but since I got her pokemon in the dex I just tracked down the remaining ones and went to see if it would give it to me and it did.

One thing I'm wondering is when BDSP is supported on Pokemon HOME will it be possible to hop pokemon between BDSP and Sword&Shield. This would only apply to the pokemon supported on SWSH. For example, I've grinded a bunch of BP and stuff like mints, vitamins, berries, ability capsules and patches that are just sitting there. So hypothetically one could do this trick to unlock the National Dex early, go to the underground, catch something like a Gibble, sent to to SWSH via HOME, beef it up insanely and send it back? That would be kinda bonkers.

Yess you can any of pokemon that's in sword and 🛡 and in this game can be put into each game buy pokemon home since they both support the pokemon

In order to get around the money issue all I would do is I’d have my pick up team give all of their nuggets/rare mushrooms and all those items to the Pokémon during the trade and then sell them on the new account in order to keep the living Pokédex and make a little bit of extra cash on an account that’s not maxed cash stack

You could trade a pokeball,quickball, any ball really on the pokemon, take the item is holding off, and trade it back. Bam. Unlimited balls potentially, with the cost of time.

Unless I missed something, does this affect evolved pokemon's GU levels? Such as that Rhydon being level 18 instead of being 42+ ? If anyone can give that info, that'd be great. I love collecting Pokemon that are found before their evolution level requirement. Such as Lv. 10 Gyarados, Lv 9 Kirlia, Lv 7 Pidgeotto, Lv 50 Dragonite, etc etc.

cant wait for pokemon home compatibility excited to get a living dex ready to transfer into new playthroughs exclusively so i can see the effectiveness of moves because it just looks nicer
