I enjoy Rhythm Games quite a lot, especially something a lot more intricate and accurate like Rocksmith. Blending the best of both worlds is something that should be done a lot more often to get people into learning music! Cheers.

Rocksmith 2014 is epic. Ive been learning from it for years. Rocksmith plus subscription is a rip compared to the older version.

Agreed. I was all in on Rocksmith 2014 until the DLC was shut down. Subscription models generally don't fly with me, though. If they could work an optional purchased assets sales model into Rocksmith+, I would seriously consider it.

I'm new and just getting into Rocksmith 2014 after just now discovering it. Bought the whole kit with Real Tone cable on ebay because I instantly knew the Plus subscription was a rip off with a horrible selection of songs. It's like they lost all the licenses to the DLC's they had in 2014. Good thing I can still download them on my PS3 from the store. Everything still seems to work and I'm having a much better time learning. I just can't see how they could justify the $140/yr price with the song selection they currently have. They should have stuck to the original model and charged $140 for the software, and nickle-dimed you on the songs you chose to buy later.

I have basically learned to play guitar with rocksmith over the last 5 years . The customs scene for the original is amazing. Would have never picked up the guitar without it.

the lag is on your end. i never had a lag issue with mine. lots of tuning issues but no lag.

I liked the original rocksmith but it would annoy me that it never told you the strumming pattern. Also as a beginner it's hard to look at the screen moving and your fretting fingers at the same time.

I loved Guitar Hero and Rockband. I HATED Rocksmith lol. I think I had more fun with the first two because they felt like video games. Rocksmith felt like having a bad teacher. That was just my experience, I see many other people had good experiences. Whatever helps you progress!

I'm on the opposite side of the spectrum... I liked guitar hero but it felt like I was doing the same effort it takes to learn the songs in a real guitar. Therefore, I better stuck with Rocksmith 😊

@dspandel rocksmith+team has a licensing deal with Warner Music Group. Band like sepultra dragonforce etc.are on that label.

I have Rocksmith 2014 on my PS3 and I love it, it has an amazing number of hit songs. But I find this incarnation of Rocksmith to be a big letdown, sure they have a lot of songs, but the vast majority I believe are subpar even downright waste of money. There are only handful of actual hit songs. Check out the Heart choices, not good at all, versus Syd Barrett, just about all his songs, but how many people want that, I bet not many. Big disappointment in Rocksmith + song choices and the outrageous cost.

100% there with you which is why I bought 2014 for my PS3. You can still download all the good DLC's off the PSN store. I don't know why they have them there but can't transfer them all to the Plus site. Even if they did, I'd have hard time justifying the $140/yr subscription.

I had it for ps3 and it was pretty cool but didn’t work that great with out a speaker system. But this looks like they worked the bugs out. I’m at least going to check it out.

I'm using it now on my old PS3 and it works great. Just have to make sure your volume knob is cranked. Have to use their Real Tone cable as well.

It’s ok, but you know how guitarist look at their fretting hand while playing, I’d also have to look at the computer screen as well as the fret board, I think I’d be lost really quick.

I love rhythm games, but I’ve avoided this one. Has anyone actually gotten better from playing this game? And does it make you reliant on the screen when trying to jam?

Coincidentally, I picked up the game (Rocksmith 2014, not plus) a while ago and I can confidently say that it made me play a lot more and, yes, better than without it. It does make you reliant on the screen to an extent, but the game features a "master" mode that can be unlocked for every song which removes the notes altogether (basically like you would play a song from memory). Also, there is a ton of content and custom DLC online where you can request a song you'd like to be charted by the community if it isn't. That being said, for learning the basics and correct technique, the lessons are not that impressive, but if you're using outside resources or are more of an experienced guitarist that shouldn't be an issue in my opinion.
