I re-twist my own as well, 4.5 yrs loc’d. For me there’s a freedom in doing it myself. I’m not a professional so it took me a second to figure out what works best for my scalp, texture, etc but now that I know… Sis I’m out here lol 😊😂❤ #locd&lovely
I think it's so beautiful to do this yourself and that was my plan when I started my locs but... I am not doing this lol my self care is letting the stylist do it XD
Had to do this myself when my loctitian caught an attitude. Until my hair loc'd up, I was getting it retwisted every month. Now I can get it retwisted every two months.
@@thelovespacefrequencyyou can just use water or water and oil, or just don't be heavy handed with the gel. Or wash them more often with a clarifying shampoo that can break down the product. Hope this helps🍀.
I restarted mine over after 3 yrs ,just felt like I can better care for my locs on fine 4b hair, my locs are now .4 inches now no more bleaching my hair.
When i started my locs 10 years ago it cost me $35 for a retwist. Now people are charging $150! I don't have locs for fashion, they actually mean a lot to me but I'm not paying anyone that much money for a rewist.

@JoyNavon How long does your hair normally hold after twisting and drying with heat? Mine seems to last a good week....seven freakin days. My hair texture is somewhat soft. Not kinky at all.
I try to retwist my hair but I feel like the thing is I don't have the right holding gel. I have tried so many of them and some of them leave my hair. Just flaky and it lasts for a couple days so do you have any thing that I can use?
