Suffering from BDD, you genuinely feel flawed and may even think people are lying to you when they say you aren’t.
I never wore a swimsuit as a teenager because all I saw were my wobbly arms, fat body, and flat butt. In an attempt to keep my weight in check, I would force myself to vomit after every meal.

BDD: Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) is a mental health condition where a person becomes excessively preoccupied with perceived flaws in their appearance, which are often minor or nonexistent. Individuals with BDD may spend significant time worrying about their looks, engage in repetitive behaviors like mirror checking or skin picking, and may even avoid social situations due to their concerns. This disorder can lead to severe emotional distress and impact daily life, relationships, and self-esteem.
