the apartment above mine was shady and random people turned up at all times of the day, suspecting that drugs were involved, I changed our wifi name to FBI Surveillance Van #4 and the apartment vacated pretty quickly.

Just make your password "I don't have wifi" so then people will assume you actually don't have it. Also, be sure to get oil lamps in your house so people really know how antiquated your lifestyle is.

I feel like RU-vidrs with a huge following these days post little to no videos with original content, and are mostly just vlogs or rants or dumb challenges. Natalie's one of the only RU-vidrs I can name who has been consistent in putting out quality videos and creative, original content that's actually funny rather than being too try-hard (even though she does make random disappearances sometimes... which I'm glad isn't something that happened recently). Props to you, Nat, you deserve much more love for being so good at what you do! I actually wish that you'd make a comedy movie where you're the scriptwriter and the actor of every role. That'd actually be amazing and you have no idea how much I'd pay just to see happen (that is, if I wasn't a broke student).

I agree Natalie. When you invite friends over, I think it's a time to put the phone down and engage in conversation. However, I think as you get to know them better you can give them the Wifi password. But if your friend stays glued to his/her phone all the time after that, it basically says my phone is more important than you or our friendship.

I've seen nat promote for Samsung, Samsung phones have a wifi token you can give visitors that expire after a specified time. its a great feature if you don't want to give out your WiFi password or restrict access.

I tell people the wrong password, then when it doesn't work I say "oh I don't know why it's not working"

Could be because I'm Canadian, but charging your devices while visiting with a friend is nbd at all. You'd seem extremely cheap to say no if there was an open outlet. Wifi password can be awkward if you're not close with the person and it's an obligatory family visit or you're the extra friend, but anyone you're close with shouldn't be a problem. Especially when you're staying the night with a friend. That's just common decency. I know for years before I got a phone, the only way to contact people was through a texting app on my ipod touch which required wifi to work.

Hmm maybe cuz I'm Chinese, its quite a common thing to go to a friend's house and ask to use their wi-fi, and I definitely wont mind any of my friends asking for my wi-fi access, unless ofc they not really my friends, in which case they wont be at my house in the first place. And usually ppl don ask for wi-fi so they can browse the net, but rather to use apps like wechat so they'd know if someone is trying to contact them, more ppl use that than sms or calling these days in Beijing at least, and I'm ok with that reason. On top of which most ppl have uncapped internet, so they don really lose anything anyway.

If they are down with it, we get to third base quickly and mutual enjoyment is had by all. If they are defensive, I continue to use my mobile data and make a mental note they are not welcome in my digital kingdom if they ever come to visit. :)
