The RCIA (Catholic conversion) classes start this time of year. In RCIA classes you will learn about Catholicism. I believe they go over the Catechism. (Fr Mike Schmidt has a podcast Catechism in a Year) You can find the Catholic Catechism book at many books stores or you can look at a free online version. You will find Catholics in this class too. (who didn't receive all of the sacraments or just want to learn more) You are not required to convert if you take the RCIA classes. If you do want to convert it usually takes place at the Easter Vigil Mass or right after Easter. God bless.

My only confusion is when I should stop and pray... where my words are being blocked. I can't help but consider the upcoming SINod of Synodality. Ezekiel's passage scares the hell out of me... literally.

Forgiveness is not a magic spell to ends the sin committed by the reprobate if that person continues to sin. Excommunication is a legitimate tool of the Church, and is used to protect the Faithful from scandal. God is the final judge, not man.

I listened to this homily before I went to mass in the city where I live. The priest almost, almost said the same thing you did. But his parting words at the end, he said “Gossip” is the sin that is tearing us apart. I was so disappointed that he felt he had to sugarcoat. I think I won’t go back to his mass. Good News Listen: Jesus Said For Where 2 or 3 Are Gathered Together In My Name There I Am In The Midst Of Them: Listening - Accountability and a Larger Vision of God's Kingdom: Listening is the Key to Healing and Reconciliation. It Works Both Ways. God Listens to our Prayers but we need to Listen to Him. In the area of Discipline, we need to Listen to each other first because it is the key to Reconciliation. I understand this so much...I know have the best man and I'm a better woman because of it. I know take my faith seriously and he takes his seriously..We strive to please Jesus Christ. Yes, Yes we fall. Sins are hard to avoid. But we help each other up to avoid sin. We are weak and sinful. But we will not walk away we will live our lives attempting to get to heaven with Jesus and Our Blessed Mother Mary and all the angels and Saints.
Fr I had a priest sin against me several years ago. I confronted him to get him to stop. The result… he had me thrown out of church. I literally have not had a church for 8 yrs now. I have not given up my faith. I love the Lord. I want to be Catholic. It’s 60 miles to the next closest church. I thank God for your daily homilies. May God bless you.
I just experienced the same thing, but did not go to a higher up because I was afraid of being thrown out. Instead, I prayed and offered myself as a sacrificial offering to God; I also gave him a holy card, requesting Perpetual Masses said for him in the Vatican. I want him, and everyone under his care, to make it to heaven. "Forgive, and you will be forgiven." Also: "Courage!" Could you go to Reconciliation one day, and just try to go to Mass after that? It's been EIGHT years. I would think that our merciful God would accept 8 years as enough penance to be able to return to church. If we don't heal, others suffer. You have bravely suffered for the wrongs of a shepherd. What a cross! What a BLESSING! I encourage you to go to Reconciliation and Mass with the confidence in knowing that you are God's beloved child, in whom He is well pleased. I am going to First Friday Mass. I am carry you, and these challenges, in my heart to Jesus' Sacred Heart. Tomorrow is First Saturday! No one can resist Mary! Perhaps, tomorrow could be a new beginning for you? God loves you, and delights in your presence. Go to Adoration, if possible, too! I encourage you to please show up for Jesus and let him love you and heal you. I go to a Baptist church but this man of God is wonderful. So many churches don't preach on sin like Fr. Michael O'Conner does. Thank You My church is starting to preach dispensationalism. My Sunday School teacher says that the books of the Four Gospels is not for us but for the Jews only. Gentiles gospels comes out of Romans thru Philemon only. I don't believe in this teaching. I really enjoyed your teaching. I listened to about 15 different homilies. Thank You so much

Only a few individuals go to confession at my church each Saturday. I'm thinking that the priest should put into the bulletin a reminder that this sacrament is critical and that the parishioners need to go at least once a month. I'm now thinking that if the priest does not do this, his soul may be in jeopardy. He is a good priest. But after listening to this sermon I feel concerned for him and other priests. I also feel concerned for those who don't go to confession regularly.
