To me, that is the most beautiful sound I ever could hear. The village I grew up in had bell ringing practice every Wednesday evening.. was a joy & comfort, long before I became a Christian.
Thank God for the beauty of church bells! I get to hear my local church bells early in the mornings, cows too, I thank God for such a simple, yet increasingly uncommon environment.
I got to see a nest of bees leave their hives all at once while I was painting a house up on a ladder a nearby high tree had a branch that they vacated. its said when the bees do that they'll leave it and never come back to go to make a new home so I got to see something rare and I can confirm the noise of the Swarm flying across the sky slowly was completely mesmerizing
Haven't heard our church bell in our town here in Australia since the 1990's, hearing it back then when couples got married always put a smile on the face of the locals. The town clock bell still rings on the hour which is nice.
Kate Bush and Pink Floyd have used some Church Bells with some of their songs too. I do like the sound of them, and yes, it's becoming a more rare sound
I grew up in the City of Ripon and the Cathedral bells always lifted me when I heard them, beautiful. When the bells rang out after it had rained was a particular wonderful time. You are right we don’t hear them enough and they do have healing powers.Thank you for sharing.
St James's Church is on my road about 30 yards away, I love it when they practice, when there is a Christening, a funeral or a holy day, there is a church clock too which chimes every 15 minutes, I find it very comforting.
It is funny you say that because we don't have any nice sound in my hood except for the amazing birds. The fire station uses a WW2 siren that freaks out some of the older tourists. It's effective but it goes off several times a week and it's eerie. It makes you feel like you need to run for cover every time you hear it.
Some guy up in Southport n then busking. But he is unusual. Operatic voice. One day I walked past and he hit this note. My entire body vibrated. It was cool. Wish I knew what song he was singing. Id pay him to sit n listen and have him keep singing it
Church and cathedral organs were there originally for healing the organs of the body with the frequency and vibrations. They were not originally there for hymns etc.
The ringing teams in my area ring the bells in the local churches in the surrounding villages and towns all the time. It's a gorgeous sound. I actually learnt to ring when I was a kid. It's a great experience! Unfortunately you do get the odd nimby who just so happens to move in next to a church and demands them to be silent from time to time. But they're quite few and far between. At least in my area.
Great sound! Happy bells 🔔! The last time I heard them was last Saturday at my son’s who lives in the country. They didn’t sound as joyous. We later found out it was for a bereavement. But hearing them brought me back to my childhood as we lived real close to the church. Effectively, the ringing of the bells has something esoteric about it
At my local Church, they employed a Bell Ringer with no arms as no one wanted the job, he would do this by putting his head n face into the bell, one day he fell from the Bell tower n died on the church green, a crowd gathered n someone asked who he was, someone said' 'don't know his name but his face rings a bell' 👍
I never thought about it, but here in Holland every sunday you could hear them at 10 in the morning then again 10 min later for the people who were late, but now you never hear them anymore. Sad
Music to my ears, beautiful. And yes vibration and frequency is truth. I heard there's actually a charge for having the bells rang to mark events and I believe it's quite a lot.
