Parisiennes: almost never. Parisiens: (men) elders sometimes. Paratroopers: only as part of their uniform at an official march (although hers looks more like a chasseur alpin one). American tourists: almost all the time. EDIT Oops I forgot:... And walking to the sound of an accordion 🪗
Also, the Hat Historian once explained how the Berret (along with the marinière and the baguette) became associated with France in the Anglo-Saxon world. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-K0btMunAvNI.htmlsi=ruWkvQuMaJZFHM1V
If it's anything like Quebec they're nice if they see you trying to speak French and will try to speak English if their English is better than your French but if you start in English and expect them to speak English then it's Je ne comprende pas
@@kittiesandbotsgemini9892Hey I was wondering something. I am mixed with white but Im also Mexican, my skin complexion is a little pale but I have brown eyes and black hair. Without speaking to me will people think Im a tourist?
@@kittiesandbotsgemini9892 Haha thank you its good to know, I honestly kinda believe they would think Im white or something lol. Are there light skinned or pale Hispanics or mixed Hispanics down there?
Not french , just people who live in paris are like that . Damn for us , it seems that the all world think that Paris IS all the country and , surprise , many french doesn't like Paris. Arrogant , no say "hello/goodbye or have a good D " no , in Paris is ...i don't know a country in the country . PLEASE VISIT all the country , the south is very cool !!!!!!
I'm from Brazil. I lived in Canada and tried to speak english even same with Brazilians. If you living ina different country, you have to speak in their language. But something that I've noted that English Native speakers don't make efforts to learn another language. They come to Brazil, for instance, and want Brazilians speak english.
Same but they spoke Russian to me instead of English 😂 I am French ... My face is soft and round, big blue and green eyes, long blonde straight hair that can make them think that I look Slavic eventually but my body is not at all Slavic hahaha 😅
It’s not even about the beret y’all 🤣😭 Parisian women dress very elegantly, dark colors, coat, sunglasses and 8/10 times you see them with a cigarette in their hand lol
Funny thing was when I was last in Paris it was an American woman that helped me in public not a local. Her American accent gave her away not her outfit.
@@mateoalbertorodriguezhuert4249 America is not a continent. There is south america and north america which are two different continents. Those that live in the United States of America are called Americans. Hope this helps!
@@ok-vs8ws America is SOUTH AND NORTH, NORTH-AMERICA, SOUTH-AMERICA Your country is UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, NOT AMERICA Why we say North America? BECAUSE IS IN AMERICA NORTH AND SOUTH AMERICA ARE SUBCONTINENTS
@@mateoalbertorodriguezhuert4249 America is literally the nickname for the United States of America lmao. This is well regarded outside of the US and within. I should know because I live here and that is what it's refered as. Not only that but I view international news. It's strange for you to correct me on what my culture says. You should know how language evolves over time. People in the United States as well as outside of the US say this. There are 7 continents. This includes south america and north america which are on different tectonic plates. If America is just a continent in of itself then can you name the 7 continents? South America and North America are called the Americas not America. Subcontinents usually refer to parts of Asia. If you search up the definition of American it will tell you that it refers to a citizen of the United States. So i'm not sure why your correction was needed.
@@naelrodriguezllobet Oh really! I have a lot of questions. First where are you from? 2. Why Turkish ? 3. What's you're name and Can we met I hope you say "yes"
this is SO funny lol…i have a dutch friend and when i met him i was shocked to notice how well he wrote and spoke english. he literally wrote complex term papers in college entirely in english. he explained that most Dutch are taught english bilingually as kids. it’s considered an international business language
Why do Americans go to a country when they know nothing about it? Why do you even want to visit? Im soeaking as an American who loves learning about culture. Why would i want to go visit a country i have no infinity to? Its the beret that gave her away😂
1. Saying Americans know nothing about France is really untrue. It’s France. People know about France. You’re acting like it’s some super small country no one’s ever heard of. 2. People all over the world like to travel to places they don’t know very well. A large part of the fun of traveling is learning about different peoples and cultures. I think a lot of people would find it quite boring to only go to places they have an *affinity* to. 3. American slander is really tired. Especially over a silly video. Give it a rest.
@@cuthip @cuthip I get where you are coming from. I'm also not saying know every nick and crany about a place. What I mean is why don't Americans (anyone really but I see it amongst Americans a lot) once you do know where you want to go, why not do the tiniest of research? Save some for learning at museums and other fun experiences but it's good to know a bit about a place before you go. For one knowing a few social norms (not all but enough to feel safe) help avoid you get scammed and charged more. It also helps avoid issues if you know a few laws so you don't get arrested in a foreign country or even specific states in America. What I meant too could be attributed to the fact I don't like doing things without a purpose so it's not supposed to be extreme negativity to Americans but rather confusion. Why would anyone want to go anywhere unprepared or unaware of something?? Now not saying they need a spiritual calling and fantasy dream desire to visit a place but if you are going somewhere across the world, why assume it's so similar to America or interested even a bit in the place you are going to. Say I book a trip to France and took time to learn the language to communicate like it's shown in this video. Why stop there? You want to communicate and social norms play a big role too. Yes, to be fair "nothing" was an exaggeration" however i know alot about many subjects and i was trying to avoid nerding out and explaining every side of a situation. This isn't even an example of that. I completely understand what you mean and agree. Everyone shouldn't have to know anything but even as an American I don't understand many social norms and though I know a lot about America, not knowing the "basics" is like "everything" in social and productive and safe situations. I'm not saying every American despite not clarifying in my original statement. Just so many I see and in my life go so unprepared and I just don't understand why. Other people from other countries too but in talking about this video which is American focused in comedy.
@@cuthip honestly it's just confusion of why would someone take so much time to learn a language to visit a place they don't care about not studying before they go? Not everything but basics like certain social things. She should be able to dress how she wants but it's always good to know what reaction you will get because of that to include getting scammed because most Americans (and others but a lot of Americans) get scammed and talk about their experiences. I hold confusion and worry for my fellow Americans. It's an observation of concern not brutal judgement
I was a transit passenger in Paris Airport with broken foot. Airport was confusing to me. I asked for help in English to lady at a desk. I do not speak French. She ignored me. I was really upset. Finally I found my way myself.
Everyone talks about the French not being friendly…I have been to Paris and Amiens and all I met were friendly people. Busy people often times, but friendly.
The reason french people know you're not french is, a normal french person would never greet someone they don't know. So you must be a tourist who wants them to think you're french but they just don't fall for it.
When someone bumping you in Paris and saying 'have a nice day' or 'i am so sorry', first thing need to do is check your pocket or wallet or belonging. :)
