I started DJing 6 months ago and this is the same controller I use. Just did my 1st wedding and wedding reception last week and i rocked the hell out of it.
Yayyyy!!! I started with a DDJSB3 and a DDJ-400 4 years ago. Played a big electronic music festival this year in my city. This week I pick up my XDJ-XZ as a congrats for the progress from a 10yr-old laptop and starter controller. Keep it up!
We got bedroom DJs just learning to beat match with 4 CDJ 3000s and a v10. That's $15k worth of gear.... it's insane. We have "gatekeeper" DJs that breed this, "if you want to be a real DJ then you need to learn on the Industry Standard gear" mentality.
I first learned to dj on virtual dj with the on screen mixer using a mouse lol. It's definitely not the best way to learn but you'll get the basics. One good thing about it is you have to mix fast
I'm about to invest in CDJ's after DJ'ing for 8 years. I literally spent the first 5+ years on CHEAP stuff, and mastered it to the ground. Hands down the best way to do it, keep crushing it 🔥
Most definitely. And u wanna hear something bug out. Got a windows laptop 2 years ago and never had a issue. Just updated to winds 11 last week and so far so good. Pay half of what I was going to pay for a MacBook. And my controller wouldn't work with a newer Mac vs my windows laptop that is running perfectly.
@lailaaa I use serato pro. You could do with just a laptop. But it's very difficult to dj. Especially if you are just starting. Best advice I'm going to give you. Get your self a $ 200 bucks controller. And practice of it. Trust me you better off getting a controller. It comes with a copy of serato light.
@@aptmix He quickly doubles the track and puts it on to the other side of the deck I think some peeople just like having their active song on one side of the board. Preference.
@@completd112 hmm never heard of that before, seems like a good way to make a huge mistake playing live...but hey, to each their own! Thanks for the explanation
Please do a real video of budget gadgets that are starting DJ can use like a cheapest controller laptop cheapest music monitors cheapest headphones with good sound cheap things that are beginner dj like me can use 😎
I started djing a month ago. But I, think it's more than that since I tried some apps before deciding to get one. I only have the hercules 300mk 2 but it's worth it. I'm looking for laptops now. :) it's all about deciding. 😂❤😂 Choosing actually stress me out :D it's hard to find that ddj 400 so I decided the one that I could get soon.
My numark mixtracks played some hard parties but unfortunately the day came when I had to retire them because both had the same issues the crossfader kept cutting in and out and if I bumped it ever so slightly the audio would cut out completely and I had to make the decision to put them away and buy a pioneer (the recent one that came out)
For any beginners in here looking for a fiest controller, i cant speak to pioneer's other offerings but at this price point id strongly consider the roland dj-202, its a very good controller with a built in sequencer.
I bought rev1 on Ebay this week! My first controller. B4 that…technics 1200 and an old Numark mixer! I get rev1 for stems, tbh. I’d like a good DJM mixer one day!
You can DJ with a phone nowadays (as long as you have the right cable). I am more curious where you found an 84$ laptop that works well enough to manage the DJ library and software.
Hes doing completely random shit up until his transition. Im not familiar with that controller but on mine you cant switch your song thats on channel 2 straight to channel 1, which is what he did if anything he has done makes sense.
Why do you have the volume down on the right turntable, and the fader to the left? There’s no reason.. and it looks like you’re being overly busy. Sounds good though. Maybe it’s a latency in the video vs audio on the computer’s screen doesn’t match your turntables. Until the end.. So it could be right. Maybe it’s just me.
In my late 50s, son bought me a dj hercules inpulse 300 mk 2 deck for my birthday. Never done any DJ'ing and no idea where to start. I dont want to let him down but want to surprise him by doing a DJ session in our garden. I have a old headphones, laptop, ipad but no speakers Any hints tips where to start ?
I have ddj400, i used to dj live to my friends and followers on Facebook live three times a week for two hours until Facebook starts muting my live streaming sometime i would have 50 or more watching.
I have been a DJ for 17 years and I do same exact thing. The left side is "the live party" (what the crowd hears) the right side is my "strong hand" (the crowd hears this side slightly as I blend/scratch, but once the song is done transitioning it's back to the left) so I bring in every song from the right (scratch, beat match, tricks etc with my strong hand) some DJs can or choose to try both. It is so much simpler to have one strong hand you work with all night and one side you know that the dance floor always hears, that way you never forget what deck you are live on. Trust me you will get distracted by drunk requests, women, club owners, party goers, other DJs wanting to speak with you etc.... I hope this helps. I wish you all the best!
Yo not trying to be a hater I could see the echo and roll you did, but that controller is only 2 channel and you had both volume faders down for a sec just past the transition… all I’m saying is both decks quiet (in serato in the background included) and still having sound full level is a little sus. Maybe show us a better angle?
