You don't know Minecraft.

This video is purely fictional and isn't meant to represent gameplay perfectly.
I'm sure you think you know Minecraft, but what if you didn't? What would the game feel like then? Meet Blanche and follow her through her journey of discovering the game you already know and love!
This is comparable to RetroGamingNow's video "Why Minecraft Is Secretly Impossible" except the approach is a lot more up-beat and the video itself resembling more of a story rather than hypotheticals.
Inspired by:
@PJiggles for the editing
@TheGreatReview for the writing
@RetroGamingNow for the idea
@nana825763 for the gameplay
Huge and massive thanks to Netti, @Sloimay and @GeniRCT.
This literally wouldn't have been possible without them, they are absolute legends, I love them !!
(if you are in the premiere, spam "We love you" and then all of their name :D)

Oh my goodness ! The video is getting crazy traction and I am so incredibly grateful for it !! I've been trying to answer every comment but I can't keep up anymore so here is a message for everyone leaving a message: Thank you. Thank you so much for your comments, I am both so incredibly proud and happy to have a positive impact on so many of you. I read each and every comment and smile at the sight of every new one. I love reading about your experiences playing the game and watching this video, I love the attention to details a lot of you have, I love the innocence I can read, I just love it. I will keep on reading every comment and will try to answer as many as I can. This all means so much to me and I couldn't be more grateful. Lots of love

there is an italian streamer that never played minecraft and always snobbed it like "it's a child game", but some months ago made a live just for meme and from then he started taking it seriously by playing without reading the chat and being aways more as possible from the spoilers. now he's continuing the series and is discovering everything little by little and it's amazing. the community is so taken that has made a website so track the progress, for the recipies that he discovered, clips , quests and notes he've taken like it's a story. i think that are very few games that can make all of this

I started playing the old classic version in the browser. Then my brother found a hacked indev version, which felt so much exciting and strange compared to the classic version. I remember being amazed when he managed to craft a stick. A stupid stick was enough to keep me hooked 😂. Then he bought the game which was just hitting alpha, and the infinite world felt amazing. Then SMP arrived, and I chose to buy the game on october 9th 2010. That was almost 13 years ago now 🥹. The rest is history now

The way I grew up I was pretty unfourtunate. Heard about the game from couple of friends around 2013. This video is a work of art. From how the music of Celeste, Mario, and Undertale are used. to how the story is told. this is one of the videos I will watch over and over, if not the only video I will watch over and over. this video is so familiar that you can call it an exact replica of what we all went through. The first house, the discovery of tools, getting used to the controls. this one might be specific to me but discovering iron isn't seeds in stone and can only be mined by Stone, Iron, Diamond, or Netherite tools. I almost cried at the end message because its sad knowing you cant forget it, you cant un-remember. maybe this noob can teach us how to play the game properly, not rushing to the end because you've already done it. This, is the real way to play minecraft, don't make haste of your game, enjoy it.

It really depends on how you look on it. I too started playing Minecraft on creative instead of survival and I remember a lot of good memories from it. And while you might not get the same memories, as long as the memories make you happy, it's worth it in the end. There aren't instructions to having fun. There aren't instructions to memory. Everyone has different experiences, especially depending on what version they have started playing on and how much they already know, as we can see in this video. While it's okay to be sad on what you missed out on, you have to remember to be happy about the things you actually have experienced in the game. We only have one shot for memories that will stick to you and that shot will never be truly perfect. And that's why I think it's beautiful looking back on it. Sorry for the long paragraph but I just feel like this is important. 😅

What nostalgia? She's playing the latest version of the game and singleplayer at that, she never even touched Creative Mode or any servers and you call that Nostalgia? I don't mean to be rude but I feel like the people in this comment section are actually just stupid, like you're crying just because you know how to play the game and that's why it's not fun anymore? Like seriously? No, its definitely not the amount of useless and game-ruining updates over the years, no non o its the fact that I know how to get diamonds and survive the night, thats what makes it not fun anymore.
@artiomboyko
@artiomboyko 11 месяцев назад
@@Lachrymogenic If you think the game is not fun, don't play it. If you think it was fun in previous versions, play previous versions. We, however, still find the game fun, we just have nostalgia over the first experiences, over the times when it was all new, terrifying and intriguing. You can have nostalgia over the times you first played the game while still loving the game today, yes. Like you can cherish your childhood memories while still loving life in general.

There is an old Japanese letsplay (with English subtitles) where he goes in completely blind. After seeing the advancement to create a nether portal, he spends a long time trying things, and eventually asks a friend what the advancement says in other languages. From there, he figures out it’s not something he can craft, and after a while longer of building, he figures it out. I wish I still had the link to that letsplay, no matter how painful it is to watch At the time he did it, the recipe book and ruined portal didn’t exist, so the game was incredibly unfriendly to those without outside connection

I feel like Neve is the only other person in the world that finally understands why games are boring, I've played a lot of different games and soon realized that its the learning, improving and the satisfaction to finally get how a part of the game works that is fun and usually takes up to 60% of all the fun you will have in that game. There are not a lot of games that have long and complicated aspects to learn like terraria or hypixel skyblock, but when these games do eventually come out and get played, all we do is blow all the fun of learning away by watching videos on them or asking a friend to make them better. The reason why people don't want spoilers is because the fun of learning something new is to everyone, and yet people still hate school. When a friend asks you to help them, don't just give them what they need, or they will get greedy and after they are done playing for the first time, they will stop and think that's the end of the game. But truly in every game there is just not the main goal to think about, but all the other small things you can be doing like having your own goals, like in Minecraft can be having all the disks or making all your farms automatic. Merci Neve for showing people the truth because I feel only a few people like you that actually get how it works.

I may have not experienced minecraft in the newer version all my myself my first experience with the game were just like that back when I was less than 10. The moment with the crafting table reminded me of when I first crafted then managed to use a nether reactor all on my own without any information(I played on mobile back then). It's very nostalgic for me and at the same time kinda sad as I know this way of experiencing minecraft is now extremly rare cuz we all know the game. I'm glad to be one of the people who got to experience this game for the first time just like this(except I didn't have advancement, the game was in english and I didn't speak that at the time and was too young to know how to do most things since how is a 7 years old meant to know glass is made from sand). I still remember when I was 10 playing Minecraft at a friend's house for the first time and being terrified because giant spiders apparently existed so I just hid in a hole and sometimes came out to get logs. I still remember being in creative, building a giant cobblestone rectangle with lava walls on the inside, and then discovering a village with no villagers. No idea what a village was, and genuinely thought maybe somebody else built it... Confused, me and my brothers went ahead and built an underground railway system back and forth because it seemed like we should. Finding villages, lighting up deserts, figuring out how rails worked... those were good times.

I put off watching this video for a bit, but it was great, good job! I just wanna mention a certain RU-vidr here: Piropito. He started his playthrough in 2017. He had the goal of playing the game completely blind, no outside information at all. He still plays to this day. He created every configuration of obsidian imaginable and lit them all with a flint and steel to create a nether portal (ruined nether portals didn't exist back then). He's conquered bastions, ocean monuments, and even the Wither, though he needed a hint from his friend to build it (one word: painting). He's gotten the elytra, built a massive villager trading hall (before he knew about breeding he imported them all by minecart one by one), mined out tens of thousands of cobblestone manually, and tons more. Kingbdogz, the creator of the Aether mod and now a developer at Mojang, said he binged the entire series over one weekend. Sadly he doesn't do Minecraft too much anymore since he's developing his very own horror game, but damn his playthrough is amazing.

I know the guy !! He actually was quite the inspiration for this video and goes under the name @nana825763 on youtube apparently. So yea, haven't seen all of it but it seems so fascinating and I sort of wanna make a video on his adventure but probably not soon as it'd get repetitive

I really love how this covers the entire journey of a completely new player. It's both a testament to how awesome the game is blind, and how far Minecraft has come in trying to teach the player what to do.

Congratulations on making the best minecraft video I have seen in months The animations, the voice, the music... it was perfect. It was really relaxing, and I loved it. This is the type of content I would expect from a youtuber with millions of subs. Seriously, it was amazing

The first tears came when she lit the portal. I remember playing minecraft on my xbox 360 with an old best friend maybe ten years ago.. we were on a creative world because I was scared of survival at the time. We finally figured it out- out to go to the nether. There was no googling or watching tutorials.. just pure child-like wonder. The tears kept flowing for the rest of the video.

i don't know whats so powerful about this video. Is it the fact that it is about the single most influential thing in my life? Or is the story telling is so good? Is it because i am so regretful about the past and the fact that we cant do anything at all to change the past? Not just the storytelling and the production quality is high level, the concept, the idea is so on point. When i say idea, i don't mean nostalgia and past memories, we talk about that a lot.. all of us are sad about that. What i mean is this "new player" concept. How it makes me remember diffirent things, not just past memories, but feelings i can't quite explain. In the end, this video holds a special place in my mind and heart.

Beautiful video that sends a beautiful message, i literally grew up with minecraft, i still remember my first night. lost in a snowy forest without food and surrounded by monsters, the terror that gripped me did not allow me to leave my shelter and then death came, and together with death the spark was lit that led me to compulsively play this wonderful game.

This video really made me enter a well hidden and closed part of my memory, and really captured the true essence of minecraft's cycle, the die and repeat type of cycle. Everything about learning just from trying over and over again, taking notes from your mistakes and eventually reaching the stage where you start understanding minecraft. That's a really good video!

I still get a lot of wow out of the game, i add a lot of mods now to java but stay vanilla on bedrock. This reminded me of not only my first experience with the game but also when I first introduced my wife (then friend) to it. I refused to give any information beyond how to make a crafting table and tools. It was almost cruel, but it was to preserve that sense of self discovery. Remembering those times brings a tear to my eye ❤

I wish minecraft will never end and they keep adding new stuff. All my life ive been playing this game and ive always been looking for ways to make it better. But it was already better. I just had to try new stuff instead of the same boring cycle.

I think I did know this, every time I made a new world and stopped playing a a few days later. Every time I was left alone on a server surrounded by the derelict structures of my formerly eager friends. I knew it, not in a subtle way, but in a clear way. It’s the same reason I don’t use iron pickaxes even when I get Iron, or why so often people avoid or forget blast furnaces, we just don’t need it to be over faster. This was incredible.
