I've made fancy cardstock using several things: adhesive vinyls (dollar tree rainbow vinyl, holo vinyl, etc); metallic paint (acrylic and watercolor); foils; even a mix of eyeshadow and watered-down pva glue! I'm not against buying fancy cardstock, but if I can save money then why not? 😁

Omg so happy you are better again, lovely cards but i think it would be even be better if you "paint" the fluids on, brushing in only 1 direction, i think that would make a big differencee, but putting it in a spraybottle, you can buy a lot of small once 4 very little money, and the result is perfect!!! i don't mean it in a bad way, just my only thought.

Hi Noreen, thank you for all the love and support. My mom is doing really well actually. We've just booked our flights home to see her at the end of August. It will be very expensive as we have to stay in a hotel the whole time, but it will be great for my mom to see the kids again after 3 years!

I love doing backgrounds. I've done with sprays haven't gotten into mica powers or any other kind of powders. Don't recall seeing any in my craft stores to tell you the truth. Will have to see next time. Thanks for sharing. The first one showed,the under color was silver, didn't really see any of the maroon-red color that you used. Like the others better. :)

I you're looking for a nice cheap option you can likely also use eye shadow, though you will need to set it to keep it on your paper- Hair spray is really good for that :)

I love your use of Explosion Powders but cannot get them shipped here in the US and then saw people using Lindy’s Magicals but there was a wait list and then found someone using a ton of Tonic Nuvo Shimmer powders, so I got the basic set like you on Amazon and fell in LOVE! Cards I made with them immediately became my best sellers at craft shows in just the past couple weeks. But I haven’t gotten to play with it on anything but the watercolor paper so I thank you for sharing it can also add some shimmer on black card stock too! Can’t wait to dabble with it some more in the morning! Thanks again!

Since i fell in love with the explosion powders i have found SOOOOOO many companies have very similar products! I had no idea about them. Ive got those 3 brands, tonic, cosmic shimmer and pretty gets gritty(explosion powders- which are my fave) but also you can get Ranger-Perfect Pearls which are the same as well. So many brands have this type of product. It's so addictive, I love sparkle and shine!

The stamp and die set that cuts out all the sentiments at once -- that would look nice with different colors behind it, with maybe one sentiment in one box. Not sure I described that well. Maybe you get the idea! 😉

Nice to hear you have recovered. It seems a pity to have a pretty colour and have it come out silver, even though it is beautiful - does it come out the same on white card?

Oh no it's super bright and amazing on white or light coloured card. If you check out some of the other videos ive done with the powders you can see how bright they are. They just have a solid metallic base colour for the mica in them. But on white card it's the colour you could see when i mixed it :)

ahh it's a we r memory keepers one that isnt in stock any more anywhere :( It's a 3D embossing folder. So as long as you look for one with that title you should get a really nice dimensional one. Sorry the one i used isnt available any more :(

If you pop a few drops of gum Arabic in with your water/mica powder mix you’ll find it stops it rubbing off.

@@SashaReade it’s worked well for me with pearl-ex and cheap mica powders from ali but maybe it’s the amount or that my pearl-ex are ancient 😂 ( they weren’t even called that 25 years ago - same pots and colour names though.)

where are you located? Mica is in all eye shadows, so another option is to mix up some eye shadow and paint it on, though you would need to set it with hair spray so that it doesnt rub off

@@SashaReade in in NZ. I tried a powdered eyeshadow but it did nothing. I tried to get some from Ali express but they couldn't ship them due to being powder. Ah well I'll keep looking 😊

What pads do you use to cut out the dies? I have a Big Shot and cannot quite figure out how to use dies.

I use the standard platform base, then the thin die adaptor plate and then the 2 standard clear cutting plates. I always have one as the bottom that the die cuts into, and keep the other on top so it doesnt get cut into

There is usually a little arrow to the bottom right, you should be able to see something like "More information in here, just open this section. ↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓…'' and then there's either an arrow or a 'more' button you can click which opens the description box. If you cant manage drop me an email and i can send some screen shots of what i mean :)
