How bout some props for Leslie Gore. She does a great job on this single released in 1963 ....a year of some note. EMMA RUBINOWITZ, well she was nowhere near being on the planet yet. But here we have EMMA and dance troupe, interpretive dance to "You Don't Own Me". Some years after her superb performance in the music video for GEORGE HARRISON'S "WHAT IS LIFE"! In 1963 GEORGE, along with his mates were on the verge of conquering the WORLD! It amazes me how connected things can be. Dance on EMMA.....its all so beautiful.
If you study the life of Leslie Gore even a little...you realize that this is an extremely hip choice. Quincy Jones discovered L.G... and gave her 100 tunes to choose from... This was her choice ( and also HIS). She was a consumate muscian... a husband and children were on her mind, but she ended up with a woman because that is how life worked out. She continued to perform late in life.. got better and better ( see versions she did of this when she was a mature woman). Highly under appreciated singing talent... as well as being a somewhat un-intential torch bearer ( at the outset) but not at the end.

8 incredibly beautiful women performing at the top of their profession. Great stuff and gorgeous choreography. I'd love to see more of this. Yet, no matter how hard she tried to be in the background, Emma's beauty is still transcendent. One of the most beautiful women in the world.

This is wonderful art. The technical pieces are important but when an emotional response is reached it is truly art. I felt captured by the movement!. Wonderful!
In a way, I guess that's a little like wanting a flower to stay the way it is. But of course, it depends on the time scale. We can be hopeful that Emma has a long and illustrious career ahead.
I saw Emma cast in George Harrison's "What is Life" music video, and ooh, she dances like a princess-ballerina (kinda Cinderella-esque in this case), and she took my heart away -haha! I hope Emma makes more videos too! Y'all take care out there, and you too, Emma!
