I just found your videos .i have been letting myself go (since Covid n hitting 50) I’ve been wearing a top bun .it is all one length done my back.i have NEVER wore this style .all off my face showing,pulled back and im tired of it.i am going to attempt to cut it myself .thank god I found your videos before i do.😂 You make it look easy and explain well .i know this is an older video but ill be watching them all .hope u see the message I could watch you cut all day .its relaxing watching and the way you hold your shears ,WoW Amazing .its great to watch .i WISH YOU could cut my hair.Anyone who gives a mannequin that much moment ,can do wonders on a human .its so hard to find a good hair dresser .my daughter n mother have the same issue .Ok im gonna end I think im talking to myself here😂😂😂

I’m always surprised how many hairdressers don’t point cut or texturize.after 30some years of layered hair ,trust me I’ve tried to find someone who would give me texture movement n layers me it seems impossible to find .You make it look so simple n easy to do .All hairdressers should have to watch your videos haha😂

Instead of treating the sides/ear differently than the rest of the hair, what happens if you just pretend the person's ears lips/face is completely covered with hair just like the back of the head, and pretend the hair is there. So like go around the whole entire head using the same technique and method that was used for the back,,,, What happens??? Ps. This is a beautiful style!!!love.

Hi Summer - Thanks for your videos. Amazing. Can you please tell me if this a “vertical” cut? I’ve asked my hair stylist to cut my hair vertically, especially the bottom quarter or third, in order for me to style it easier. My hair is naturally wavy and the shorter it’s cut the wavier it gets. I’ve mentioned a dry cut, but she’s not a fan. As I watch her cut, she lifts the hair straight up and cuts horizontally, but tells me she cuts it vertically. Can this cut be done just along the bottom third or quarter of the hair? My hair is not blending together at all 😵‍💫

Oooh man, I love both so much! I am newer to using Olivia Garden so I'm not sure how well they hold up over time compared to personal experience with Cricket...but I do know Olivia Garden is a great brand. I feel like Olivia Garden gives a bit of added shine over Cricket.

I know i'm annoying !!!...but why didn't you tip cut into the back to create texture ,,,?.. instead of doing that horizontal chopping? Seems it cld little choppy marks. This is absolutely gorgeous styled and I think someone commented that maybe you should show us how you do the curling because that is fantastic!!!

They have to be cut much more strategically on thinner hair. If you cut to short or in certain areas they can make the hair look more thin.

@@StylesBySummer Do you have any videos on your technique for that? I would love to have something to show my hairdresser. Your mannequin's hair looks amazing, but on my thin, fine hair, all of that point cutting would be disastrous... ask me how I know! 😢 I can tolerate a little shallow, VERY fine point cutting, but I had a hairdresser once make DEEP point cuts into my fine hair! OMGosh, it absolutely RUINED my hair for at least a year and it was SO difficult to curl because it was like my hair had "fingers" of longer pieces that looked like crap! I actually cried it was so bad. This may sound weird, but I also feel like if you were to look at point cut hair under magnification, I bet it gets split ends easier because of that fine point. Plus, the entrance "hole" at the end of the strand is larger than when cut straight across, allowing moisture to escape more easily. I have no proof or studies of this, but with my hair, I definitely get more split ends when my hair has been point cut.

Anytime you want max volume blow drying is needed. Having less length and some layers helps you achieve more volume as well.
