Maybe if you used a step-down transformer to reduce the voltage and/or placed something with pretty high resistance in the circuit to reduce the current. Though, I’m not sure an electric eel would be able to provide sustained current needed to charge a battery without frying it. Maybe with some sort of inductor it might work.

I once kept an electric catfish as a pet. Probably my most interesting fish in 30 years of fishkeeping. Correction: The electric catfish is NOT a cousin to the electric eel. The electric eel is actually a type of knife-fish, where the electric catfish IS actually a catfish. They're not even in the same order, much less family or genus as what was implied by the use of the word "cousin" in the video.

And if some is to die from an electric shock, we'd need to know how much energy is flowing through the person (W), so we'd need the current and the voltage to calculate that.
