When I got to Bangkok in 1966 I wondered Why the buildings were so far apart in the city. I found out that before the automobile came along the waterways covered the city like Vennis. When the canals were filled in this made the street very wide unlike most old cities.

OMG I was at those markets 4 yrs ago. It's amazing how they pull in all the shades before the train passes through. And not far from there is the famous World War 2 Bridge is. The Bridge over the River Qy. The spelling is wrong but it was made into a Classic movie.

I used to work in that part of the world, although based in Singapore. I remember having to meet people in Bangkok and thinking I could schedule two meetings a day, one in the morning and one after lunch, in the afternoon. I soon learned that was impossible. The traffic was just horrendous, and seemingly completely out of control. I couldn't "schedule" anything, because I never knew how long it would take to get there. In Bangkok you could get trapped in traffic snarl-ups at 3 o'clock in the morning. I've been in cities all over the world, Bangkok was easily the easiest to get lost in! Phone books in Thai script didn't help, either... I remember that train market, too. Nothing seems to have changed, except the train! It seems to look more modern.
I saw those boat food markets in Thailand when I was a kid. I more recently sold my 15hp Yamaha on eBay and it was shipped to Thailand I Imagined it would be used to drive a floating grocery.

When I was in Thailand during Nam, those little 3 wheeled taxis didn't have motors, the driver had to pedal them and they were called samlors (sam-lars). That was a few billion years ago.

Don't be surprised, sometimes dogs reject families that have abandoned them. So keep that in mind I very much doubt he's going to do that but it has been known to happen where dogs carry a memory of abandonment

Looks like the Floating Market has not changed since my first visit there in 1968. The long tail boats are a lot of fun to ride out in open water, they are very fast and the drivers like speed,

That was a RUSH OF HUMANITY.... reminded me of Tristan Jones final adventure building a boat in Thailand with a group of DISABLED orphans and paddling across Thailand rivers... what kind of crazy adventure awaits you next??? Great story, great editing.. One of my favorites is when you two went to that mountain 5 star resort and really showed how cool it was. This was super interesting and I felt like I was right there with you three. New Boat, Better health in your body and family and now going to get sweet Marlee...
