@@od3910 same. My firsy playthrough had me mostly going for the main story because of that. After I know that I did it(, and while I wish there was post-game running around) it's easier to take in the sights.
You missed messing with monsters on the mountain. If you throw meat at bokoblins in Hebra, the food will freeze and they'll throw a little tantrum as they bite their hardened food.
One time my sister was playing botw, and she was fighting a few bokoblins when her axe broke. So when she hit one of the bokoblins, she then took his sword and shield and tried to make a break for it. When the bokoblin she had robbed got up and went to get his weapons, he realized that Link had them, and pointed at link while doing a little stompy- tantrum as it then began to try kill link. I freaking love the detail in this game
I also love how when theres more than one boko and you give them food, they’ll both go for it, and the one who doesn’t get the food will look at the one who got it like “EXCUSE ME?!!!!??”
I love how the Lynel just stands there like: “Link, wha- what are you doing? Why are you throwing meat on the ground? Wha- Ye- YES! YOU KNOW I’M VEGAN!”
New headcannon, Lynels are vegan and the reason they attack you when they see you is because you are ruining the vegetation and wild life by having your dirty feet step all over their property.
i once watched as a wolf chased after me on a narrow bridge, slipped off, died of fall damage, and the lizalfos underneath the bridge immediately ran over to eat its 'corpse' of raw meat left behind. it was kind of brutal, and i audibly gasped in horror when it happened
Lizalfols will actually flick their tongues out at flying bugs and eat them! It was fun to watch... I think they primarily ate dragonflies and I don’t remember if they would eat butterflies (Although they probably would)
Link’s expression of pure joy when the fruit cake was done cooking is something rare to see in this world today. He looked happier to see a fruitcake than he did to see Zelda again tbh.
Interesting theory about Maz Koshia and the bananas: the Yiga clan splintered off from the main Sheikah clan when the king turned his back on them, leading them to live peaceful, rural lives in Kakariko. Maz Koshia is obviously from before that time, and it stands to reason that ancient Sheikah enjoyed bananas, since they are such a big part of the Yiga diet, even in the desert.
it legitimately makes me happy that someone is doing this research; i try to feed animals when i'm exploring around but i didn't know what to give each of them until now, thanks :) bro, feeding bokoblins is one of my favorite things to do
Lizalfos also eat frogs, lizards, and any insect. They’ll actually nab lizards and insects with their tongues like real chameleons do! If you’re standing in the way of their mouth when they’re trying to grab a bug you can get slapped by their tongues even if they’re completely non-aggro with you (ie Lizalfos mask with no other enemies nearby). You can sometimes see them lick up bugs out of the grass if you watch from afar.
You must be the best at BotW trivia in the world, man. I'll bet less than a hundred people know that fish only eat food with the same cooking effect as them. (Aside from the people who have seen this video of course)
Bruh I have like 1000 hours on breath of the wild, I consider myself an expert in botw trivia, like how you can find a diamond under a specific rock on satori mountain or a royal greatsword on top of the woodland tower. I've memorized the contents of many chests scattered across hyrule as well as unique and bizzare points of interest (Like that wall without collision on the east side of Death mountain). But damn, after watching this guy's channel for 5 minutes I've already learned several new things I never knew or even thought about. Every time I think I know _everything_ about this game it turns out there's still so many layers to uncover.
I love the details Nintendo put in this game, I always discover something new, but I just realized that between all animals added, no felines! I loved some kitties around
I was patient and very, very lucky with an Ostrich on Eldin's Flank!! I left one each of Apple, Hylian Shroom, Hyrule Herb, Raw Meat, and Acorn. It left the meat alone but ate everything else! (although it nearly spooked between the first three and the acorn)
13:17 Well, if you were bound to sit and meditate for countless centuries without the slightest taste of food or water, you’re bound to work up an appetite, and would SO want to spare a moment to eat something! 😊
I like to make food and make Link eat it, even if he has full health, just because it says he loves to eat. I also wish that you can feed Riju’s sand seal without getting advice from her every time, because I just want to feed that seal, I don’t want her advice again
This game has been out for almost four years now and I had no idea that you could feed the different types of animals. It’s incredible how the community continues to find new things about the game years after it has come out! 🤯
This is so wholesome! I never knew there was such a variety of animals in BOTW. Lowkey expected that you'd try to give something to Ganon at the end :^).
If you drop food in freezing areas, lizalfos will throw a fit when the food freezes halfway through their meal. I haven't tried burnt food yet but I'm sure they'll react the same.
Funny fact 2:00 : in the spanish version of this game, the name for a sand seal is "morsa del desierto" (desert's walrus, literally) and the spanish name for Patricia is "Morselia". I think "Morselia" from "morsa" is a funny nickname. Anyone knows about where Patricia gets her name? Any meaning? 11:06 There is a rock octorok near gerudo tower, the one with no ground around it, wich is more usefull to clean your rusty equipment since there is no lava nearby.
Patricia means "noble" so maybe she got that name because she's the "noble" (royal) Sand Seal and the others are "commoners"? Or maybe it's a wordplay on "patriarchy" since the Gerudo tribe is a strict matriachy. Sadly I don't lnow about an official / canon explanation. The spanish nickname is super interesting tho! I love these details ♪
@@velo4442 I played the spanish version since I am from Spain and watching english channels I noticed that about the names. I just find those details are great so I thought someone else could be curious about it 😊
this is the sweetest thing ever. I would get this game just to feed all of the little guys. I love how happy they all are when they find the food, like "ooh! yummy! what a stroke of luck! isn't that nice!"
"the chest doesn't even spawn until you feed the dog" Wow, this makes so much sense. In the past I've tried to find those stable chests myself without the dog but have never had any luck.
I love how even the big, beefy Yiga Blademasters happily run over to bananas when they see them. So adorably funny. Speaking of, why exactly _do_ the Yiga love bananas so much? Is there a reason given in-game?
I recall some NPCs telling me that the Yiga are such fierce fighters in part because they eat a lot of mighty bananas (an attack-boosting ingredient), but other than that I think it’s probably just a gag.
today i learnt you can hand feed horses… this is the game that keeps on giving frfr… and also this is the first time i heard the track that played when Lord of the mountain disappeared
This is so fascinating. I thought you could only feed horses and dogs. Glad to know i was wrong and can make even more animal friends. 9:15 is such a beautiful shot
Maybe try wearing a Enemy Mask while you feed the stal-monsters you won't distract them while they eat so you can see if they really have no feeding behavior or if you just distracted it.
This is amazing. People keep discovering stuff in BotW, even after all these years. I'm surprised Nintendo put so much thought into what these animals eat. It gives me the hope that in the sequel, we'll hve a better ecology system! Thanks for your video, keep it up.
i love these types of videos lol. no offense, but there's no reason for this video but I love that you made it into a nature documentary, I liked the vid :)
You may know this cause someone else told you, but you CAN pet dogs. There’s no special animation, but if you unequip your weapons and then press the button that usually takes your weapon out near a dog, you will technically be petting the dog. If you do this a couple times, the pink sparkles will appear. Feed them one meat, and they’ll lead you to treasure too! I love petting stable dogs
The pink sparkles only appear because you’re looking them in the eyes, so if you just crouch next to them and stare there will still be sparkles but I’m definitely gonna do this and pretend I’m petting them lol
wow you put some serious effort into this! I had a lot of fun having dinner parties with monsters but trying to feed the super-skittish critters like deer and squirrels didn't even occur to me
This is the kind of gameplay I'd be doing... let's see what the animals in this game will eat just because I don't want to go do the main quest. The ostrich in this game has two too many toes to be an (earth) ostrich, haha. It looks weird to me to see chicken or loftwing feet on it. Ostriches and other ratites don't have rear facing toes. Actually, ostriches only have two toes. The larger toe has a long claw for clawing their enemies. Can link tame and ride an ostrich? I've never heard of someone doing that but I want to try.
Now hat you mention it ... i've never paid attention to their toes, but there are indeed a couple too many, lol. For a bird of that size whose main defensive mechanism is kicking other animals and then running away, a "backhand" toe of that size would be a huge hindrance instead of an evolutionary advantage. Sadly you can not ride them ... the same goes for Water Buffalos and the moose and rhinos in the Tabantha/Hebra region. I hope they make it possible in the sequel to not only ride but also keep those animals (and of course also stalhorses, deer etc)
