My biggest problem. When I get lazy or tired or cocky I always make a full shoulder turn but it’s level. And I never remember until I’ve stuffed up my round 😂😂
Shoulders tilt and turn are set by your corrcted posture. Is it not? Coach. I mean, you've got to set your body posture with your club reaching the ball in about 45 degree. By doing so, your shoulders are tilted and ready to turn from the takeaway movement. Just my own thought. Thanks
Been working on this for a while and it makes a huge difference to strike. I do have to have a sense of keeping my shoulders angled the other way into and beyond impact too (so right shoulder ends up pointing down, at least into the first part of the follow through), because as well as turning too flat in the backswing, I think I had a tendency to straighten up too quickly looking to ‘exit left’ into the follow through.
Does there not have to be both? But the torso turns the shoulders & not the shoulders separately or it'll be an arm swing. Isn't tilt part of the set-up & maintaining posture?
My key is to make a slight hip bump , so left hip is little higher then right hip. This way I turn much better I only have to control that weight stays inside right foot
great drill! I will be sure to start using this before I start hitting balls at the range. I struggle with this and bringing the club too far inside at the takeaway.
been working on this as an element of stack & tilt, my take away key is to feel as though i lock the trail leg knee just before take away. forces me to stay inside the trail leg and turn the hips back and away
Ok fine. But easier said than done. What I got from this is point the shoulder at the golf ball. I was getting excited because I thought tilt left to commence golf swing but that is ridiculous. perhaps one has to blend tilt and turn. Again easier said than done. Coach needs to be a lot more specific rather than "point shoulder at ball"
I guess there’s more than one way to skin a cat but I’m not sold on Paul’s technique . If your ball sat on a waist high tee then your spine would be upright at set up, therefore swinging around your spine would give you a flat shoulder plane. The ball is on the floor so you tilt over to get to it. Now when you swing around your spine the shoulders have to tilt.
