Swapping a Bravada intermediate shaft into the Blazer for the CAD shaft will eliminate the vacuum crap, and turn it into a reliably shifting 4x4. Pull out the old shaft, replace seals and bearings in the carrier housing, and install the Bravada shaft. Plug the vac lines for the CAD and you're done. Eliminate 6 or so of your 12 oil leaks by removing the garbage remote oil filter assembly and replacing it with the engine mount adapter 14081300, then screw on a 2.2L engine oil filter direct to block. Side benefit: your oil pressure goes back up to factory recommended. The fuel gauge might be as simple as the notorious stepper motors crapping out in the dash panel. If you're junkyard surfing for parts anyway, add a dash cluster swap before you start dropping fuel tanks.

Did have the PCM die on me, which rendered the car inoperable for a couple weeks, but that was the only real issue outside of doing the tie rods and some bushings, which I knew needed to be done when I bought it. Experienced multiple -20 degree mornings in in Chicago winters, and it always started on the first crank. Amazingly bulletproof engine, albeit horribly inefficient. Super easy truck to work on for the DIY crowd. Parts are cheap, and you know it will never die. I'd buy another WJ in a heartbeat if I needed another SUV.

LMAO what a great series for a few bucks less,PLUS Roman was right you get what you pay for, first attempt was awesome tommy cruises up with out any issues, Nathan gets a little college reveal from Tommy on the way up to Dare, 😀😀 i almost spit out my coffee, so Nathan just bombs up truth and failed attempt up dare and was stoked and even Andre got super excited after making it up truth and then you all succeeded going up Dare with the new tires, Guys I gotta say these series that Roman invents are crazy and really bring out your personalities and it is just freaking awesome, I think Andre is channeling his inner Buhanka to get the soul of the Mazda energized enough to make it through the challenges now and ahead, Nathan well all we can say about Nathan is he's a ripper, Hell yeah brother ,let the bald eagles out and maybe the 4wd will work a little better, So looking forward to the next video BTW TODAY NATHAN WAS THE SKINNY PEDAL KING 👍

If the Jeep has the Quad Drive (2?) system, it’s an insane engineering that can shift power at will to whatever tire has traction. Our 2000 had it and it was unstoppable compared to our 2005 which was only 4x4 was a POS, no post in the rear which resulted in it getting stuck a lot.

2005 had quad drive 2. 2000 had the first version. But 2000 is unstoppable

Yeah the automatic locking hubs on fords are awful, I had a 96 F150 & the 1st thing I did was put manual locking hubs on. And the Chevrolet most of the time it's a vacuum leak that keeps it from locking in.

So far the Jeep is winning in my book!!! I have a near identical 2002 Grand Cherokee and I honestly LOVE this thing. Tho I have the 4.7 HO and the NP 242HD cased so I have 2wd Like Tommy does. Not a lot of 4.7 got that case. Mine has under 100k on it tho and is in much better condition than most. I think the Jeep has this in the bad at this point!!!!!!! Go Jeep!!! Oh and Tommy your Jeep has the 545 trans and is MUCH better than the trans used behind the 4.0s and is actually well known to last. It was used in the Rams and several other vehicles and actually has a rep as a decent trans. So I would not worry about it unless it starts to give you any problems or you over heat it it should be good. My last one had 368k on it and still worked great.

The work on the ranger was very easy. If you're offroading in $2500 trucks, you need to know how to replace a ball joint and tie rod

I knew when the Mazda was being tested before he bought it that the 4wd wasn't going to work. He put it in 4 then drove in a straight line and said I can't tell how about turning the wheel because in 4lo you'll definitely feel it with the wheel cranked.

As a parent cheep toys for myself is all I can afford. And just to be out on the trails is awesome. I have a trailered sh_tbox and that thing always puts a smile on my face. You don't have to have a expensive truck to play, get yourself a sh_tbox and get out there

Nathan, I would look into installing a Posi Lock for the front diff actuator. It replaces the vacuum actuator with a cable, you can manually actuate it from inside the cabin to ensure you always go in and out of four-wheel drive. Otherwise, as you found, if that vacuum part goes out you lose fwd.

For the blazer if you want a free "fix" pull out the battery tray and remove the vacuum actuator for the 4x4. Reinstall the battery tray and ziptie the vacuum actuator somewhere accessible. When you need 4x4 squeeze it to pull the cable, then vice grip the cable so it can not go back into the sheath. Front diff engaged. Select hi or low range accordingly. Oh also a cheap mini spool. Edit guess i should watch the whole episode before stating exactly what he did
