I was there that night and that was handsdown one of the best loop battles ive ever witnessed. (i have a video of bizkits 2nd round uploaded) Ill be going to GBC and World Champs in August and September so there will be definitely more dope loop battles to experience!

Bizkit dominated the ENTIRE gbb! One of the best runs for sure, also that “no dice” line was actually a small diss to the looper Dice who he beat in the 2020 championship! Highly recommend watching that battle as well 🙏

like bizkit mentioned in his 2nd round I still like the fact that frostys table has 8 devices and 700 cables on it and bizkits table is mostly empty btw no presets used in this battle everything from scratch also from frosty just silent recording

silent recording: it is made from scratch but you can start without outputting sound, so you dont hear anything before he got everything together. Kba for example did that alot i think

For context to why they had to edit at the end. For final and small final, the judges don’t immediately cast their vote. So the winners were only revealed at this winners ceremony or whatever you call it, along with the tag finalsts, loops, solos, crews.

There are no presets. Every sound produced must start with the artist inputting a sound into the devices with their microphone and a lot of modern loop station is done with the silent recording technique meaning only the artist hears the inputted sound in their headphones and not the audience through the venue speakers. From there on it can be manipulated however much they want to manipulate the sound. 2nd devices in this competition were legal and so some artist showed up with very powerful devices that can do some pretty cool things at the touch of a button so to speak. Bear in mind that they don't come up with these routines on the day, it probably takes months for these guys to perfect the routines and in that process they get very very fast at setting the stage I guess you could say. Unless of course by "preset" you mean what I just explained with the patterns these 2nd devices have built into them just waiting for an input sound, then yeah. But the days of building tracks up layer by layer with just a mic and simple loops are gone. It's all turning into fully produced tracks created live on stage. But if you mean to say you think the artists are pressing a button that is making the sound for them? No, that's against the rules and can't be done is my understanding.

This might blow your mind BCP. But this battle was actually a 3-2 decision. Frosty definitely messed up live, and all of his confidence was gone because his first sound started feedback, and he couldn't shake the hit to his confidence right off rip. On the other side, bizkit did not perform perfectly either. There were some quite significant timing issues in his rounds, and his rapping was quite mumbled live. Though the video mixing makes it harder to notice. Overall, bizkit definitely had the better performance of the two and deserve to win. But it was by no means a cut-and-dry decision.
