Synopsis:

At last Gaomi came to her senses. It's not a loss to leave a cheating husband. Not only does he cheats, he treats his wife coldly. To him, she's just a baby-maker. He doesn't love her at all. It's good Gaomi realized her worth, as a woman, a wife and a mother. By leaving him, she got her piece of peace.

@@roshanda7006yeah. But this is a Chinese drama where the misogynistic writers are devoted to normalizing women accepting abusive relationships and forgiving their cheating and/or abusive husbands. It feels like there is an agenda to romanticize toxic relationships to young women who this this is acceptable and forgivable. Need more stories where the wins does not go back to their abusive or cheating partner. Not everyone deserves a second chance and women deserve better than a partner like these. Or at least the cheater needs to go through a LOT and improve into a better person to actually earn a second chance. Not a brief “I’m sorry” and she forgives him. 🙄

It's really frustrating that these writers are so misogynistic....they glorify and reward these cheating husbands, and make the wives be treated like doormats with no self esteem or being incapable of being independent....couldn't believe she went back to him after he kicked her out of the family home and moved in his mistress....even his mother approved of him cheating on his wife and favoured the mistress....like someone else mentioned, it was only after he broke up with his mistress that he wanted to get back with his wife, and only because of the child....

Not only did he cheat once behind her back with that one mistress, but he kept on continuously meeting her in front of his wife too...that warrants forgiving and forgetting...as in...forgive him and promptly forget him!

That scene made me so angry 😡 He completely humiliated Gao Mi by asking his lover to eat dinner with them. He devalued their marriage and showed both of them that it meant nothing to him.

He protected the mistress as much as he could cherish. Of course besides the mistress issue, there were still many problems in his marriage. But most of the problems were lightened up by his involvements with the mistress.

Cheating is the true definition of stupidity..doing the same damn thing but expecting a different result every time. No one wins with cheating. No good person cheats and the person you are cheating with isn't a good person either. Honestly, public humiliation should be brought back...i vote for public caning. Not sure if that will prohibit the cheating but at least you know their faces and they can't hide, and that includes the mistresses.

Why the friend even listen to his nonsense! Misunderstanding- no you were very clear in your behavior and how you treated your wife. Really the friend should have told him a few truths. Right before she left him that night was one of the most heartbreaking scenes I have ever seen in a drama. (good acting by actress) She was hysterical and begging him not to leave her again as she tried to hang on to him and the baby was screaming in the background in the crib. He didn't care any of it just threw her from him and rushed out. He was lucky she didn't try to commit suicide. Misunderstanding - yah missed his baby's birth too. He was freaking abusive. He can't even ask her to come back for him use the Mom what an ass. Love her response.

Watch the good wife, it was one of the few Chinese drama where justice was served. She went through too much. He cheated on her with her niece (or distant relative)! It’s a heartbreaking story. Everyone paid for their choices.

Exactly! Using the term “misunderstanding” absolves him of the impact of his CHOICES. His wife did not misunderstand him. She understood, very clearly, by his words and actions that he did not love her and would never put her (or their daughter) first before his mistress. He walked out in her and their crying baby-That’s not a misunderstanding.

First a shout out for the 2 babies in this series they are adorable, so cute! I think it’s good she is divorcing him they were a bad match from the beginning, I never ever think cheating is acceptable, but in his defense she was a flight attendant on the prawl for a Rich husband, and came across him and stalked him, he knew it and only married her to get at his Mom because she wouldn’t accept his Mistress he was really in love with so it wasn’t a love match the foundation was built on shifting sand not solid ground so it was destined to fall! As far as the shop he gave to the Mistress as a separation gift because he was trying to break up with her, and felt he owed her something for the 10 years they had been together, the wife checking his phone finding out and sneaking around behind his back and using her Mother In Law to get the shop wasn’t the right move, she should have been mature enough to talk reasonably with him about it! But she was immature and he didn’t love her so it was bound to fail.

Did Gao Mi know Zou Kai is in a 10 year relationship with Wang Yu before they got married? If not for his mom’s opposition he and Wang Yu would have been married. When his mom asked Gao Mi if Zou Kai did not have money if she would have married him. She without hesitation said NO. So Zou Kai believed she married him for money. His mom promised him to leave him and Wang Yu alone if he would give her a grandchild. His reason for marrying Gao Mi.

The other factor is that you have never treated your wife with respect, not as a person but as a business arrangement for a baby. When you’re married, for whatever reason, at the bare minimum, you should be respectful of the person you made a commitment to. 5:13 Her sister shouldn’t have told him where she was. 10:39 My mom wants you to come back. Nothing about he wants her back. 11:36 He has the audacity to ask if their “love” can be measured with money. Very good response from Gao Mi- he’s always treated her like a business deal. Even when she got pregnant he told her that he would give her compensation for having a baby for him. Not love at all. Business deal. This is just sad.

So firstly he didn't physically cheat on his wife. He had an emotional attachment to the ex so he kept in contact with her. There were many times she tried to get physical with him but he pushed her way. If you pay careful attention to the last conversation with his mother you will see that his attachment to Wang Yu was more of a protective relationship. His love for Mimi started to develop when Wang Yu was away from him after shw had the baby. There were many times during that period he refused to take Wang Yu calls. The one occasion he met up with her she showed up drunk at his offics. However at one point in time Mimi was intentionally doing what Wang Yu was doing to him which was dictating how he did things. Like telling him she wanted to talk about divorce when she was just scheming for him to see Wang Yu with another man and he took out his anger on her by asking for a divorce. Going to Wang Yu that last time was all his fault and Mimi was right to leave him. However I believed that is what he needed to come to his senses. She didn't take him back easily though she made him work for it. Let us all not forget the big picture....he married her because he wanted a child not because he loved her. During this period even though he had ended his relationship with Wang Yu he was still in love with her

He did emotionally cheat o his wife, which you alluded to. He also went to the other women when his wife asked him not to, she begged him, and he still went. Whether or not he was in love with his wife at the time, he made a huge mistake in doing that, he was completly wrong (in my opinion), and it seemed that was his wifes breaking point (again my opininon). He is not the one who broke it off with the other women, she did. Also, when the wife was pregnant and he was with the other women, the wife called him on his mom's birthday to see where he was, it was no one's fault but his own when the other women answer the phone. The wife then went into a difficult labour, then he ignored his wifes calls and eventually shut off his phone to "pout". To me, those are three big actions, some emotional he did, that were hurtful to her. Whether or not he was in love with his ex-wife, he should not have done those things.

Thank you....I feel some people haven't watched this show properly. Some of the comments are obviously going by the titles which are just showing drops of the story. He was still entangled and possibly confused about the ex. They started from no love point and his behaviours prove that. He also had impressions of her. As he was never fully committed (marriage certificate doesnt equate to commitment), ex could manipulate him and the whole situation. I actually enjoyed this couples journey more than the leads of the show.

Having a child with a woman you're not in love with while trying to keep a toxic relationship with someone who has been fulfilling you're mother role... Someone should have solved his Mommy issues before getting married, constantly threatening his wife with divorce and the mistress, she was just trying to love him but he was too comfortable with his old toxic affair, he wasn't even there for his daughter's birth! Then what? He wake up understanding he'll never find another silly wife who will love him and his psycho behaviour? He really deserved to lose everything he had, even the littlest crumble of love she gave him!

When I was much younger, I was told that never to give a beater or a cheater a second chance. Because they never change, and they always get worse. Cheating isn't a mistake. Cheating is a choice. A mistake is leaving your phone in an Uber or accidentally locking your keys in the house. Nobody accidentally falls between someone's legs.

Well, I agree with that to some extent. IMO, mistakes and choices are often mistaken for each other. Mistakes are things that you learn from to get better, similiar to what a child does. Choices are done with solid thought processess. You CHOOSE to drink and get drunk knowing that you can end up in bed with someone other than the significant other you have. You CHOOSE to have an affair or keep a mistress like this guy did. Those are choices. Mistakes are simply not knowing what the outcome would be and having to fix it later as you learn from it. Choices are simply either not caring or expecting a different outcome to what you think will happen. At least to me, I'm open to hear anyone's opinion on it might help to let me see if from other perspectives :)

Honestly she did give him a chance because when she called him and she went into labor and she could have lost their baby and lost her life and pick up anything was a condition of she called only once she called multiple times and what did he do he turned off his phone but yeah when his ex-girlfriend calls he ran away runs and I think that's what's even more hurtful it's like it's not like she was calling before before she got pregnant he knew she was pregnant women so and she forgave him after she gave birth and try to let all that go but he still continued to let this woman into his life in the thing was if he really loved her why didn't you give him a child or into try it seems like what you wanted to overpower his mother

I don’t believe in their long term relationship. I’m. It convinced he actually loves her, just now feels guilty and wants the trappings of having a family because of what it will give HIM. And given that he hasn’t worked hard enough to improve himself, she is going to be exhausted doing 99% of the emotional work in their marriage over time. She deserves better. Every year on her daughter’s birthday she will remember how he left her there scared and aline during her traumatic labor. He can never make up for that. They should divorce, and then he can work on fixing himself, and then maybe have a chance with her.

I didn’t like the ending of series…FL developed with time but her husband didn’t actually changed or developed it’s just the mistress left but still she has power to be back. Woman don’t understand one thing that other woman left or the man actually moved on is a two totally different thing with different outcomes 😂
