hahaha yes it takes magic to be patient and let others be who they are meant to be. I use this coping mechanism: Everything is perfect just the way it is... for us to learn what we need to learn. I am still in the arrogant struggles of wanting to change people, to help them see what i see. Lately this has come up against my boundaries of what it means to be a friend and what i need to do to help keep myself out of drama. Sigh, yes, letting go of what i think is right. Just being. Allowing others to just be who they are doesn't mean i also have to be around them. i will ponder how to use magic for this! 🙃
it's not always wise to always be submissive and to never try to stop things you feel are bad actions by others if someone breaks into your house and starts to attack your kid you'll see the flaw in your approach of always letting people be what they want without any resistance to them at crucial times

Your title causes me to make a comment…I used to feel that death was the biggest threat there was and then I found out that we don’t die. Well now, if the biggest threat is no longer a threat then I guess there is nothing left to fear. This is very liberating.

this went insanely hard. it’s taken me years to get my obsession with understanding the universe to go from wanting to “save” (there goes the baptist trauma) the people around me to being genuinely consumed by my hearts desire to dwell in that journey for its own sake, and allowing that to pave the way towards resonant communities. even then, it’s a constant effort of remembering that the yearning is to each theirs, and to trust that they (it, all) will be just as sustained throughout with or without my controlling efforts. hearing this all laid out the way you did rlly sent me

Non-involvment would have been cowardice for the hero and irresponsible for the sovereign, but at this stage and given the archetype's place in life and in society- elderly without position or responsibility for anyone other than oneself makes non-involvment and acceptance the viable and healthy path. But the wisdom of this stage for everyone else would seem to be to pick one's battles. Properly, this stage is more akin to embodying the serenity prayer - changing the things we can change, accepting the things we can't, and having the wisdom to know the truth.
Oh, yes, I should have included the Serenity Prayer in this vid as it’s a perfect description of this kind of wisdom, and the strength required to _not_ rush in to fight every battle in the headstrong Warrior way. And I love your comparison of the roles here, too. I like the idea that we must be able to move between all these modes in different situations depending on our status/experience of whatever context we’re currently in. For example, a therapist doesn’t have to be elderly to need to be able to slip into the Mage’s mode of non-involvement (this is the choose your battles thing, of course). Thanks for this comment! @@Betwixt_App I wasn't thinking about therapist when I mentioned non-involvment, but yes, there are definitely dynamics where non-involvment is appropriate for people who are still very much active in their communities. I was thinking more parent-child, employer-employee, government-governed, etc... situations. I appreciate these videos. They're insightful and give us alot to think about.

The evil made me think of the Darkness in Inkheart. Completely arbitrary. I'm 70. My health is pretty good overall, but recently I've become very conscious of my own mortality. I may have 10 or 15 years left, but at declining efficiency - poorer health and mental acuity. I have a few things I want to do yet though. One of the hardest lessons I've had to learn is that most, if not all, of what people do is about them, not me. We're all on our own paths. I'll help if I can, if I'm asked, but that's all. It's not easy at times. I have a great deal of life experience and wisdom from being on the planet for 70 years, but I can't share it. People only see what they want to see, and only hear what they want to hear.

It seems rare. And becoming increasingly more so to find a person who is ready to hear wisdom from another. And nearly myth to then find one eager to hear and then able to digest another's wisdom and advice and mix it with their own life path. Then take changing actions to adjust their path in life. It's sad and defeating to understand this is the fact. But don't give up. Send feelers out and maybe someone who needs to hear you will draw closer. Or maybe you will only effect many many others in slight ways that have vast impact overall but is hard for any of us to perceive.

This is very much at the heart of Theravada Buddhism as I see it. Understanding this is one thing; implementing it is quite another. I wish I’d only failed this test once. I’ve passed it more than once, but I’ve failed it a lot more times than I’ve passed it. One thing surprises me it’s that the mage’s test comes in all shapes and sizes. Paying attention, bring mindful enough to recognize those tests at the speed of life is the real challenge, isn’t it? Of course, then not holding on to the failure or success after each test event which will blind one to upcoming events in every level. I’d also add that each of these arcs not only gets repeated in a persons life many times,but they often run concurrently on different levels of thinking/being. You've explained something so important in such a simple manner... But I struggle with enlightenment, some days it feels so effortless to just be. The moment I become aware of it, I lose it. When tests appear before me, some of them are so challenging to the soul that I feel like I have to give up everything and die on the spot. These I often suffer defeat to... You could repair everything, build up everything but wether you call it God's will or destiny, it always re-adjusts to be the weight unfit for your shoulders. Even reading over what I wrote, I laugh to myself as I know the truth without the name. But I am not yet able to live by it.

Yes, looking to micro-manage others in the name of protection is nothing other than narcissism. Radical acceptance is key in understanding IS-ness and flow. I think the central problem of humanity is what I call the 'lived life Vs still life dichotomy' .. It is our obligations that make life onerous yet being a monk is hardly a bed of roses either, ironically enough. Profound. The idea I am struggling to get a handle on, though I accept that it is a real concept, is that we are talking about two different deaths. The first is, obviously, the acceptance of the physical death. My solution to the Culture War has been to utilize a conceptual carpenter square one call pull out and measure any given conflict that I call the KIRT/KIM axis. Meaning Keep It Relevant To or Keep It Moving. That has really been a boon to my well being as social engineering cajoles people to go at each other so hard yet we all need the same 5 industries of Food, Water, Gas, Internet and Electricity to have space to have at least some of the opinions we hold so sacred. What you have explained here has mirrored that back to me in a very exhilarating way. The Mage knows the arc will offer the capacity to transform and don't squander energy trying to micro manage and dominate that process. What a find to catch on to your work. What's really the most inspiring to me and I think what really sets the fire in Mac is how his focus and attention to establishing his groundwork and attaining goals allow for him to express himself more and more clearly with less and less resistance. You can tell as his Rhymes progress but also along the longer trajectory of how he addresses his audience that he's no longer just spinning with Incredible skill, he's invoking from the subject matter and crowd what best completes his in the moment artistic expression. He spends the momentum impotency of his energy to such an incredible rate that all he has to do is facilitate anybody or anything's connection to it, and, Alakazam that same energy gets perpetuated with no loss It's really just so inspiring and such an excellent and repeatable example of hard work and dedication that can lead people to manifest representations of God energy. Just imagine, he couldn't be the first or the last human that had the capability to do this in whatever form. The truth is that's the reason everybody can feel it and everybody gets into it and the entire experience is increased with every additional person involved is that we're meant to do stuff like this

However, it depends how we frame the term. Feeling peace is great but it's considered to be a highly exalted state. I'd say experiencing flitting between neutrality - willingness - acceptance are 'good enough' for most of humanity. Therein, you can make your contribution.
Resist the urge to manipulate the lives of those that you love. I don't think that this one is reserved for the elderly only. I do think that parents SHOULD absolutely resist this urge at any stage of their lives.

What people don't realise is that all so called 'evil' and negative experiences are created by your power. Yes, they are real. Yes these experiences can hurt you. YES you have a choice as to whether you keep getting hurt. What you must do is stop externalising your power. You must cease having any faith in an external power stronger than your own will. Identify with God, the highest power, the only power. I don't mean to believe in an external seperate God, I mean recognise and identify with God in yourself. In a visual metaphor, imagine an impenetrable wall or ring of light around you. Behind it is a snarling ferocious beast ready to rip you to shreds, the moment you let down that wall, by your own power, as nothing else can do that, it will eat you. A useful referential example for not helping people is not explaining zen koans. You may have seen through a koan yourself, and whomever is wrestling with one may be extremely frustrated or emotionally upset or persuasive about asking, or may even be giving up, but spoiling the koan for them is nearly always obviously harmful, blunting the insight they need to have themselves. The stage after mage being saint seems...plausible. I'm intrigued considering if there are subtype variants, somewhat orthogonal to helping others versus self-serving, where a mage might evolve into being a dmt entity sleeved in a human body. Metaphorically speaking, when you manage a meeting with the colorful geometric entities that create objects by speaking glossolalia, i.e. weilding magic intuitively constantly, they're not precisely for you or for themsleves, so much as just doing magic because it's their nature to do magic. Though maybe becoming an entity instead of a saint is one of the shadow positions of saint...

Your content is amazing, and as a neo shaman (a spiritual neurohealer, basically) and witchzard (for I am a non binary combination of witch and wizard) I thank you for helping me see the bigger picture. Today I was on deep meditation while thriving on the cold of the winter (I love cold weathers for they remind me how to keep my inner warmth active, thus learning how to preserve my temperature with lots of universal techniques) and after I just vanished from this reality for a moment, I was gently woken up by a woman because they were closing the faculty grounds. Immediately I realized that everything in human life leads to us being constantly distracted or attentive to something, whatever it could be (like the person waking me up), and I really craved going far away from human civilization to meditate and just disappear from the physical realm. I then understood that everything around me was trying to basically distract me from the very basic concept of non being, non existence, an idea that people for some reason confuse with death. I understand from my years of magical experience that non existence is basically the primal state of everything, probably the instant immediately previous to the dream of Brahma. I immediately understood that if nothing really exists and everything is a reactive illusion to help us learn and grow wiser, then it also means that all the projections of fear we have are also uncapable of affecting us unless we allow so (say for example, making a deliberate mistake to hurt someone else, which could turn the fears of cosmic retribution into play and thus whatever fear we have then becomes physical and then it can affect us back as a lesson). That is why this video resonates so much with me, for I now understand that evil is not in others, just as it is not even in the systems of complexity we would like to blame for our human suffering, which evolve and change over time just like humans and societies do. Since everything created in civilization comes from creativity and with the intention of preservation of our lives, then where does the ominous evil we so much fear come from? At that moment of realization and comprehension (because not finding an answer leads also to comprehension, oh oxymoron), I realized the good in me, with a lot of intensity. Like, I AM GOOD, not only good, I am amazing! I am! Oh girl, I can't tell you how enlightening it was to understand that although we don't exist really and this is an illusion, it is still another frame of reality in which we have to thrive properly and love ourselves and others. Like for example, going into the wilderness could be a nice experience, to meditate for days uninterrupted is a nice idea, mainly because natural environments, plants, animals, insects and I have a good relationship of mutual respect, but eventually the body would feel hunger, or crave social interactions, and thus, I understood that the dream or goal of not existing again, basically a primal state before existence itself, cannot be a perpetual achievable state since we are still attached in some ways to the human experience, which requires us by default to basically eat, clean ourselves, communicate with others, etc. At that moment I wondered; can I achieve this nirvanesque sense of non existence and coexistence with everything and nothing, without having to relinquish from the good of human life? I mean, I freaking love meditation and non existence, but I also love to be a master of my life and a good reference for other people, being able to achieve dreams & goals like for example starting a side career on RU-vid sharing my amazing experiences, becoming a music producer and dj, travel the world, learn many languages, do magic shows, etc (basically all the talents I have that I'm super glad to be able to perform). And then I understood that for now, the best answer possible was: Yeah, I can go into wilderness, but then I should have to come back to share my experience and teach, for there is no meaning in keeping that experience to myself alone since every being is interconnected. I also seem to be proficient at talents that basically need other people to enjoy them to have meaning. All interactive talents. I could do that, go far away, really meditate and sleep good under the stars for many hours, but would I do that and also neglect the fact that it is possible to also live a prosperous and abundant life of wisdom and art and magic if possible? And thus, I understood that I can bring that same sense of non existence, that void that people fear might be equal to death, non being, into everyday life, by flowing and accepting things and people as they are, which of course, seems to be a very challenging task for me at the moment, but I'm going to get there soon. I must somehow find a balance between non existing into meditation outside of this realm and also being present in the realm shining light to everyone (or scaring those who do evil, if necessary), because at the end, it would be a waste of atoms and molecules if I just don't exist nor use my existence properly just because I want to non exist. Like, I love voids of non physical nothingness, they're safe spaces for my old soul to rest properly, but also life is amazing and life deserves me just as I deserve life! And thus here I am, sharing my experience with you, and thanking you for your amazing video. Hope this makes some sense!

I feel like I might be walking (kinda skipping, actually) in to the one place where I am certain to be tested in the most perfectly subtle and perfectly enraging ways. Sometimes the Algorithm is magical. How the... Errm, thank you, algorithm?
How can I avoid myself? Trying to fight, flee, hide, and fool myself is that which is referred to as evil. Evil is a verb and symbol for that which can be referred to as the "I am not..." identity. The I am that appears as the fiction and illusion of fearing and desiring I am. I am. I be. The glaringly obvious pointer is that all is now. That which can be labelled as mental illness, darkness, evil, and pain and suffering, is the alert that is the misidentification of I am not. But in truth, it all be I am. So what if I were to Surrender with a Sigh of Relief to the pain and suffering and recognise that symptoms of mental illness be an alert that is the misidentification that says "Hello, I. No, not this! I am"? That the pain and suffering is the one and the same misidentification that is in truth, I am? By Surrendering to the fear and desire, one would Surrender to one's true self. No more action of the painful fear and desire combinations of Sadness, Guilt, Anxiety, and Arousal (frustration-anger and excitement). Could it really be as simple as breathing? Could it really be as simple as physical surrender? Could it really be as simple as being present and aware? Yes. I am and can be labelled as awareness and presence, I never end and I never begin. Point to the memory of I am beginning and ending. Point to the memory of being more now and point to the memory of being less now. What is there to know or unknow of awareness other than I be it? I am. What is in opposition and the position of awareness and the present moment? There is no answer to those questions. The action of trying to answer those questions is always that of fear and desire, mental and emotional illness and physical pain. It is the misidentification of I am not. When in truth, I am that I am. I am the darkness and the evil that is in truth I am. When this is observed, there can be no darkness because the light of awareness shines on! The evil is recognised as the misidentification, the hark to the truth that I am. The darkness and the evil cannot exist as I am not when the recognition is realised. Or simply put, when the alert that is fear and desire pain and suffering is recognised as the true self of I am. I am.
Im not so sure I got what its all about, you made a game about enlightment? Anyways, the understanding of real enlightment seems to be spot on.. I'm really going for it in life.. I've certainly seen progress...

I'd like to offer a bit of a counter point to the idea of the way the mage responds to such things as evil. The idea that the mage (should) accept(s) evil doesn't sit well with me. Here , I'd like to introduce the famous quote: “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” Surely as someone on some evolved or transformed or even enlightened trajectory, the mage can't simply allow evil to triumph? Maybe accept it, but at least do something, say something, shed some light, so that evil doesn't triumph???

I had a super power dream about a wise man that spent the day with me a d he gave me all his attention all day and I let him into my home and into my life. Before he left at about 5 o'clock (because he lost track of time he was so focused on me and my life) I said "what could I do to change my life" he said in the most CLEAR VOICE EVER "unite yourself, with the FACT, there is going to be trouble ahead, and it's NOT going to be nice". But I will say that this wise man character seems to have shared an extremely sage message about the nature and necessity of acceptance. No, it’s not evil. This is actually kind of the point (especially of the previous arc and vid of the series when the key challenge is how to go about the vital process of accepting death as a friend of sorts). I would argue that death is a threat, however.

I think sticking to sex is the best course of action in order to stay in reality. I was taught from very early on both by society and my family that boys like blue, play with trucks and wear their hair short, while girls like pink, play with dolls and wear their hair long.(Not exactly like that, but I think you get my point). I then rejected my own needs and my own personality traits, and my own sexual orientation, in order to not be perceived as a monster (whenever I acted in certain ways or expressed interests that could be deemed as potentially gay, my father would react very negatively. He thought gay people were some kind of monstrous aberration, and I deeply internalized that, leading to caustic levels of self hate from which I still haven't recovered). Then, I was presented with the same ideas (boys do X, girls do Y) in a different packaging when I came into contact with the gnr idea, which I embraced and accepted as valid, at first. This gnr idea just posed the very same dogma: if you don't behave like a walking stereotype of a man, then you surely must be something else. You're not a "true" man. And thus I was led down a path that inevitably led to the trap that is the tns idea. I hated myself very deeply, and even though I had already come out as gay at that point, there was still a part of me that perceived me as wrong for being homosexual. So, thanks to the gnr idea, I started to flirt with the possibility that maybe I was actually a girl, instead of a boy, because I didn't fit 100% to the stereotype of what a man is supposed to be. Thankfully, I snapped back into reality at around age 25 (funnily enough, that's the age when the brain finally stops developing) and realized that I was just as valid as a boy as any other despite whatever personality traits, likes or dislikes I had, because the only thing that makes one a boy or a girl is their bye ah l@ gee. I would have fallen hard down a very painful cliff, if the idea of gnr had been introduced to me earlier, because I would have jumped into it and gone "tns", as a way to avoid my sexuality: no longer a gay boy, but a "straight girl".
Oh wow. That was not the answer I was expecting. Thank you for sharing, and I’m very sorry to hear about the struggle you had with this. From how it sounds to me, I think we both take issue with the same thing - the unrealistic and rigid traditional gender-related expectations forced upon people - but we have contrasting ideas about how to tackle that problem. As someone who has never connected with the gender associated with my biological sex (although I haven’t struggled with this), I feel as though anything that shakes up the way we’re expected to perform our gender is a good thing. I’d like to see us moving forward into a world where children don’t suffer from feeling as if they don’t fit their sex, which I don’t see happening by doubling down on the division of roles. However, to me the problem is that currently, both with traditional (in my opinion, outdated and rancid) ideas about sex roles, and with gnr I dee ugh low gee (sorry, otherwise I can't pass the filters) we're very much telling people the same thing: conform, or you're not really a "true man" or a "true woman". As I see it, it's the same idea enveloped in different wrappings. Old: Boys don't show emotion. If you show emotion you're a sissy. New: Boys don't show emotion. If you show emotion as a boy, then your gnr is something else, because we know that boys don't show emotion. In the spectrum of gnr a true 100% boy, doesn't show emotion, so if you show emotion, you're _something else on the spectrum._ And thus, we get the nb idea as well as the tns idea. If we simply threw the whole concept of gnr out the window, this wouldn't be a problem. No one would have "gnr" dysphoria (which is really sex dysphoria). There's nothing wrong with being a butch Crone, or a Queen with short hair, or a feminine King or Mage. The words merely differ in order to refer to the sex of the person. They aren't imposing certain roles in and of themselves, just because they're sex specific. Being a woman is a beautiful thing, and so is being a man. We're all either or, and if we learned to accept that, along with the fact that there's no one-size-fits-all to be the sex we are, the world would be a place with a lot less suffering.
It’s curious, because I agree with absolutely everything you’re saying. It’s just that, for me, there’s space for enby people in your future vision too (and I would love that world!) Interestingly, I have a female friend (lesbian, butch, in her late 40s) who holds exactly the same opinion as you. She believes she would have transitioned had she been born 30 years later. She sees non-binarism as non-feminist, basically, because (her words) so many more AFAB people identify as enby, and she sees it as a rejection of the whole gender and would rather we just embraced all the many different shapes and sizes of “woman”. Unfortunately, I think the rejection-of-female point is exactly right. Women, femininity and feminine traits are in the cultural shadow, and as a result, men repress their femininity so much they unconsciously project it out onto the women they marry and end up abusing them as a result. And girls and AFAB people (myself very much included) grow up with their femininity equally relegated to the shadow, but also “not allowed” to be boys/masculine, so we’re stuck between a rock and a hard place. Really, what is love the most would be for us to do what you mentioned earlier end delete gender entirely. That would be wonderful.
I've defeated the tricksters and dark priestesses at this stage in my life. I'm in the free timeline. And I guess a true mage, but I have a vantage point that has a kind of alien severity to it which I'm sure is from past lifetimes learning how to individuate. And detachment, a lot of detachment, and willingness to accept loss and sacrifice. I must be ever-vigilant to avoid tricking myself or allowing the energies around me to steer me. As the moment I believe I have reached the end, is where I might be sent back to the start.
Question: If a mage should not influence someone's life, so it may unfold on its own, (which makes sense because of the fact that we apparently have freedom of choice/ free will to do as we please) would creating a YT channel where you share your wisdom be ok? It would cross people's life when needed and if they could see the devine message right in front of them, they would then have "the choice" to watch, pay attention and learn from the wisdom that the mage has put out there for any and all to have, influence their life? I guess this would be the same as if you asked the mage a question or for some advice... of course Yoda would just answer in question form and confuse them more than they already were 😂 But seriously though... thoughts?

Here’s what I said: Ultimately, I don’t think we could call the sharing of knowledge on an open platform evil (even going by this definition). If I was sharing this story in a pointed way to a certain individual because I could see they were making what I thought was a mistake and wanted to change their path surreptitiously, then maybe. Or, if I was sharing information that fed some kind of grand self-serving agenda (like, I wanted to form a giant cult and take over the world), then of course that would be wrong. But I don’t think we can say there’s an issue with peacefully shared public info that people can either pick up or leave, nor with help/advice offered to an individual when it’s solicited. The antagonistic force here is more about manipulation and meddling.
So, I have only made the names and therefore the characters’ biological bodies gender-neutral (which means the reader can project their own sex onto the archetype in their mind). I’m not saying these archetypal characters are non-binary, necessarily. I think this is important because we all have both masculine and feminine parts of the personality and traits, but we have got to the place where trad men expect/want to be masc, and trad women expect/want to be fem, and this causes us great unhealth as a people. In order to redress the balance, we need to integrate both sides of the gender polarity, which is much easier when the traits are presented without specific biological sex markers. For example, the first archetype is traditionally called the Maiden, and thanks to the fact that women/femininity are in the cultural shadow, it’s *hard* for cis men to embrace their inner Maiden.

But if you have been wrongly taxed and the authorities stand behind each other and do not accept their mistake and reject the appeal, what do you do then? I am statement doesn't help or gratitude etc.

Great question!! The answer is that the passive shadow withholds power and experience in a way that doesn’t contribute to their role as mentor. The positive-change Mage resists the temptation to manipulate or control others _while_ also empowering and supporting them. It’s a tough balance to achieve, tbh.
I paused over this one, too, but in the end I decide that as Hero is strictly gendered (and it’s not okay to allow words that mean “man” to simply apply to all of us just because male = default), that I should change it. Also, psychologically, the Warrior archetype is the part that’s in charge of setting and maintaining boundaries, and asserting oneself, so I do think Warrior works well for that 🖤
@@Betwixt_App Except it's not really? It's basically disputed language, and you are missing an opportunity to claim it as gender-neutral. A hero can be male or female. A(n) heroine is strictly female. Of course you may do as you please, but if we live in remotely similar linguistic context, you're wrong about it being strictly female. Psychologically, the warrior is whatever people assign to warriors. Perhaps you mean in Jungian psychology and derived interpretation. Or perhaps you mean "sociologically" based on an impression of dominant interpretation in Western societies or around the world?
I mean archetypally, which is what matters here. Both Joseph Campbell and Carol Pearson (the famous Jungian psychologist) refer to this archetype (this leg of the Hero’s journey for Campbell) as the Warrior, and I’m not going to argue with them about archetypal meaning. The “Hero” is a more modern name for this character, because Hollywood has taken just this one leg of the overall (Campbellian) Hero’s Journey and discarded the rest.
@@Betwixt_App Ah yes, but archetypes are contested territory :D ...Personally I'll argue with them for the same reason modern philosophy looks on Greek philosophy as kind of outdated. If psychoanalysis does not move beyond its elders it will stay stuck as a proto-science forever. And I think Joseph Campbell Hero Journey does set the academic precedent for 'Hero' as a more fitting term than Warrior. I enjoy your Luminary classification.
I agree that we need to allow these stories to evolve (which is why I’m comfortable giving the archetypes new names, of course). Basal archetypal meaning, however, as long as Jung was right, will not change much. He believed the reason myth has survived is because it was not a function created by the ancient people, but a _projection_ of what does and always has excited in the human psyche and collective unconscious. Fascinating stuff. My fave quote from Jung is this: “The best we can do is to dream the myth forward and give it modern dress”. This is what I hope to do with the renaming. I think you misunderstand my point about Campbell, though. He used Warrior for this leg of the journey (Hero was the word he used for the overall story, which encompassed all of these archetypal journey in one epic saga).
