@@Tess-he3qg Acetic acid never leaves the pot. Its BP is 244°F. In a microwave oven the walls are always cool. To apply vinegar and clean it, wipe with a damp cloth.

i'm using razzer blades to get the hard baked on crust off first ,It's so bad ,LOL But this will help getting the fish stank out ,so gross ! And No i'm not the one that let it get that bad

That may be but after all the kitchen work who's going clean the oven yes, but another time if you don't forget. Apart from the racks Self Clean Oven is well worth it does a great job. So few times a year turn it on. Even the dirtiest oven comes out sparkling just vacuum out ash. Wish they'd just figure out what to do with the racks You can leave them in on Self Clean but they'll be harder to maneuver pulling in and out but maybe that's ok.

@@mommalou64 I just use a 2 cup measure of water. Heat it in microwave for a couple minutes. The steam will make cleaning easier. I don't add anything, but you could add vinegar or lemon. The same should help in the oven with a larger quantity of water. I'm going to try it.

For instance we can distill water away from its salt content (desalination). This is why I imagine that the boiling of vinegar will result in water vapor but the acid component is not evaporated but left in the container, concentrated.
