If he didn't believe vampires were real, he probably didn’t believe witches were real too, definitely lied to kill what he saw as a threat to his power over the people.
unfortunately not uncommon for religious officials back then and even today. The salem witch trials was sort of a result of it as well we founded multiple forms of medicine but were slaughtered for not being christian
Or, as in line with Christianity, you deny a demon's existence to it's face, and that's supposed to weaken it, since your ability to believe is intrinsically linked to God.
Not really, literally right after he leaves, he talks about how it will take a year to build his army. Its like giving a person a 2 minute head start because you need to get your pistol out of the safe
@@Mordanas ngl but that prist thinks God is a fool and that he uses the name of God to get what he wants so does he have the audacity yes he does does he even believe in god? I don't think so.
"This is just a bad trip. Im going to find my dealer after this and arrest him for selling and falsely advertising his wares being top quality. I paid good coin that con artist!"
To be fair, giving them an entire 365 days' worth of time to leave and apologize for their sins for the unjust murder of his wife is his last straw of goodwill (or maybe half-goodwill since he began prepping them demons for an invasion). Man's restraint and patience on wiping out the entire city in one go was utterly respectable.
All of them deserved what came their were no innocents. They had one year to see how evil the cult was and to remove their marks on the land if they would've they would've lived. They made their choice the evil cult and so they can Lay in the bed they made
Dm: your intimidation attempt succeeded. The vampire lord gives you one year. Player: But you said I succeeded... Dm: I was totally planning a tpk, yall got lucky.
The bishop very clearly never loved anything beyond power and himself because if he did he would understand the rage burning Infront of him and that the words literally burning out of the man on fire Infront of him were words that specifically thanks to the fact he loved the woman you took from him and how he knows even in dieing she wanted him to spare your wasted existence
"Willing to deny me existence right in my face? What of your righteous god? You believe in him and yet... Have you ever laid eyes on him? Even once? No, I didn't think so..."
Bishop: "You're not real, you're imaginary!" Dracula, as a thirty foot-tall conjuration of hellfire that just scorched the bishop's eyebrows clean off: "In a year's time, you will find out the hard way just how terrifying your imagination can be!" Scene closes with the faint, resounding 'click' of several hundred Walachian assholes clenching in unison... 😬
He said you are not real to the giant flaming vampire head which proves that he did not believe in witches he did not believe in the devil he just saw a threat to his money flow
Yeah, but it was common practice to burn, witchs is at the stake back then, in that time if you were accused of being a witch, they would burn you at the stake
@@Fallout4277 yeah but that's more of a western European and russian kind of thing infact most witch hunts during the early modern period took place in Germany, Spain, British isles and new England whom were Catholic or Protestant
@@Fallout4277 the problem with Catholicism and Protestantism is that they're faith only based so in their mind they can be as evil as they want as long as they beg Christ forgiveness that's why the western church has spread so much death in the pass 1,600 years
Because not everyone in the land was responsible. He should have just gone after the people present at his wife's burning and even then should have spared the children
Hold on, he said he wants to eradicate all humans in Wallachia, not all the humanity. I thought he wants to be rid of the entire spaces, not just a few from a measly country
I watched this a while back and now when I rewatch that.. I realized how you gonna kill someone for being a wife of a devil then the dude pulled up and THEN deny he even exist.. Like bro by that logic does that mean you just burned a innocent lady for no reason?
Dude basically said "you're the reason she's a witch, but you don't exist". That translates as "I just make things up because I can". It's offensive and so real.
They were warned for their transgressions yet they did not heed his grave warning. If anything one can learn from such arrogance of that town is that they deserve what was coming to them.
He was giving them time to leave the land so they could save themselves. They didn't listen and actually decided to celebrate the day they killed Draculas' wife the next year, and Dracula opened up a can of wop-ass on them.
Much like Mathias from the actual Castlevania series, when Lisa was crucified, he gave them time to “say their goodbyes”, but his primary reason was to have Hector and Isaac build up his demonic army. Although Hector was against it the whole time, he didn’t want to betray the man who had helped take care of him (and Isaac) since they were kids. Plus, even though Hector is the stronger Devil Forgemaster between him and Isaac, he was still in no position to fight Mathias at all.
The first two seasons of this show are just- Mwah! Then the third was like OK and then the last has horrible. Nocturne had so much potential and then just 💩
@@ykiikiiThere’s a few articles of women coming forward talking about Warren Ellis being “very handsy”, plus, recently, there was an article that interviewed Adi Shankar, the dude who brought the Castlevania show back into recent years (after the 2007 one got cancelled, mainly due to Ellis’ poor behavior and just the general fact that he made some statements about wanting to beat Koji Igarashi in a dark alleyway). But in the article with Adi, Adi brought up that him and Ellis had a falling out, somewhere between the time of Seasons 2 and 3. The reasons why Hector and Alucard were treated the ways they were, was directed at Adi because Hector and Alucard were his favorite characters. So Ellis thought that Alucard being abused at the end of season 3, and the constant mistreatment of Hector was a good enough get back, let alone writing an ending for Dracula and Lisa that didn’t make any sense given their personalities and how Lisa wouldn’t want anything to do with Dracula after his whole genocidal rampage thing.
I know its fiction, but i REALLY REALLY hate religion. The bishop is an all too real character. Ppl like this actually exist. "You dont worship the right god. TIME TO DIE" this. This is the mentallity of fanatics. How many "witches" were burned? How many ppl were killed in the name of their god. All because their magical sky person told them to. At least in their heads their god told em to. Beh religion. Beh
It's like as if Moses didn't not believe God was speaking to him with a burning bush because he knows he was smoking herbs before to get high and chill
@@ArbiterofTruth In the Castlevania universe god seems to exist, but is distant from the world. It is possible to invoke his power, or at least the power of light. It seems however unclear what that means, as it can be used to whatever end one wishes. In Castlevania: Lords of Shadow for example Dracula can utilize the power of light and even of prayer without issue as he knows their secrets.
If a giant head of fire started telling me to make peace i would be making peace with him as best as i can and convert to religion that could protect me from dracula
The fact he could have easily gone down to Wallachia and slaughter them in one night is all you need to know about how patient he is with them. His armies were raised to butcher the entirety of the planet and to ensure that the other vampire lords would stay on his side.
he would not be capable of killing them all, he is not invunerable since a single human is capable of harming him using the right tools, and he wouldn't be able to kill them all on time the majority of people would escape, an army would allow him to avoid that.
@@thephoenix4093 the Wallachians at THAT town would be easy for him to kill, the reason he collaborated with the vampire lords is because if he didn't they would probably stand against him
@@thephoenix4093 Not to mention that the Western Kingdoms had very little vampire presence and strong armies. Wiping all of humanity alone, alongside him choosing voluntary starvation, would be impossible.

In the history of the Vlad the Impaler, he once offered to convert to Catholicism if The Vatican gave him soldiers. That is how he lost the favour of his people.
@@nathanielmartins5930 No, he was obliged to covert to Catholicism ordered by Mathias Corvinus, King of Hungary after he arrested Vlad so that he could've been freed. But his conversion to Catholicism didn't change Wallachia of being Orthodox tho
This Bishop was already an insane fanatic. All that happened from this point on just made him crazier. By the time we see him again in the city of Gretchen, he was damn near a raving lunatic. His grip on his sanity and reason barely hanging on by a thread.
