ShieldsJustice I’ve used many others, Lenovo yoga for example was super similar. I really like the 2 in 1 laptops even though their durability sucks long term because of the thinner design. The Hp spectre has been the most resilient and can take a lot more use (doesn’t overheat quick). It also comes with a stylus pen and has a sleek design. I’ve been using it for about a year!
ShieldsJustice no problem! If you have the option, buy through Costco and get the warranty (it’s about 5 years). Any sort of damage gets you a brand new laptop
the other advantage to having the power button on the corner: when in tablet mode, you can rest it in your lap in portrait mode without fear of hitting the power button. This was a flaw on the old design, and as far as I could tell, there wasn't a way to disable the power button when in tablet mode (maybe I'm wrong, but I never found it).
@@meccadagreatest7508 oh I love reading that!! I just got mine and it's freaking gorgeous. I said if Godiva Chocolate and Louis Vuitton designed a laptop, this is it. Love it.
Ilias G1 my friend bought hp Spectre and gave it back to the shop. I will never ever again buy hp laptops. Almost all hp have problems with the cooling system
The 2020 model should be out soon. Hopefully they will sponser another video for you to review. Its weird how they gave you their 2019 version to review a few months before releasing the 2020 version.
I ordered my 15 inch on December 7th and still waiting for it to arrive :’) I can’t waaaiiittttt I’m also kind of worried that the bezels are too wide and will bother me. For anyone who has this laptop do u find it annoying? Arrived on Christmas and I love ittttt! so scared of breaking it when putting it in a different angle tho
@@KcKc-bh6lu That's easy to fix, about the mouse and keyboard thing and about the Fan,it's probably a defect or you are doing a heavy work most of the time
i learnt something lol i had no idea that the case had a pen holder lol i was annoyed at first thinking that it didn't have one but you showed me lol, thank you.
I wonder if I could I have one laptop like this because I am so excited and curious, I have that creativity to learn and improve the technology but my condition don't allow me...... But yes one day I will do what I want🤛🤛🤛🤛 Love your explanation Love from Nepal
Dude you're good. You got right to the point... all the important points ... and you wasted no words. Bam...done. Way to go. BTW I own an older spectre and I love it. I might but the newest version though. One more thing... does it have LTE 4G wan (mobile) connectivity. What a plus if it does.
Soldier Knows Best! It's been a loooong time since I watched a video from you! You were probably the first tech video I've watched in RU-vid. No offense though, but how come 791K subscribers? I would have thought you will have over 2M by now?!
I appreciate you coming back and watching. I took a couple of years off of youtube. I've been doing this since 2007 and got a little burned out with the grind while finishing up my military service, etc. I'm back now though and this past year felt great so check out my other videos to get caught up ;).
@@SoldierKnowsBest You are definitely one of the pioneers of tech channels in RU-vid. And 791k is nothing to scoff at. Much respect. More power to you!
Hi bought the stupid laptop motherboard blew up 12 months it lasted, HP admitted that overheats. HP were rude in Singapore. Knowing that these issues HP Management . they have the stupidity to replace the motherboard for 2000$, said ill burn on youtube never but HP again. anyways bought a razer advancd amazing worth the price. hell with mr sagar and anita from hp singapore... mr sagar very rude should not be customer service
As others have noted, I don't see any 1650 option, just MX250. HP is telling me this is a "retailer" version not available online. Checking Best Buy, this shows up as being MX250 not 1650....please correct your description, unless you know the 1650 to be available...
Hey Dan. Thanks for pointing this out. Yes, this has the Geforce MX250 and not the 1650 Ti. I've added the correction to the description and will edit the video to correct this. You can only get the 1650 Ti with the 9th Gen Intel processor model.
I bought the 1650 gtx modle witb i7 On Black Friday for 1650$ currently playing raninbow six seige on it and runs perfectly smooth. Also I have the 500gb ssd modle

This video is sponsored -- that might explain why everything is "great". Linus' review was more critical, and I agree with him. This laptop is not perfect. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0hXqHH7rZqo.html
Great review. I am looking to change my now 6 year old Asus N550JV-DB72T. It did me well, but recently the screen decided to go and I took it to get repaired, unfortunately the repair was not successful and I have to be using an external monitor with it now. I have been looking for a replacement for it and I have always like the HP Spectre line, even though Im not really a fan of HP. Two issues I have with it though, I'm not liking that ginormous chin at the bottom, lol, and also is 16gb the MAX ram it an take. Right now my laptop has 16gb as is, and I've been looking for something with 32gb. Im a fan of the new Zenbook 15 from Asus, the nano edge screen is gorgeous, it could give this Spectre a run for its money, however the Spectre has it in terms of 4k and HDR especially. I'm torn, I really am, help me, lol...
Hi. Wow we both had the same laptops. My mouse pad and keyboard went so now I'm looking for something new. What did you end up buying?! Curious as I'm also torn on what to get.
Does anyone who has concerns being watched over webcam will believe that that button will switch the camera off?!?! I'd rather believe that the button is a conspiracy to stop people from putting tape over the webcam, when in actuality...lol
I just got a 13" one and its hella pretty+ works really well but the only problem i have with it is that it heats up a lot when i'm using a few programs at the same time and im scared its gonna cause problems as time goes by.
The problem I have sir is longevity. There are plenty of great laptops out there... but now it's about longevity and if there are any planned obsolescence within the manufacturing of these laptops including the absence of perpetual software licensing.
I bought one of this and kept it for 3 weeks. The problem with it was it kept restarting when i leave on my desk at night and tells me that windows crashed. I have formatted the driver and installed a new fresh version of windows. But it kept doing that crash and sometime restarts when i am working. I did some search and turned up a lot of people having the issue which sounded like a hardware issue. Finally I have ended up returning the laptop to HP. Was very as i really loved the design.
The important difference is whether it is a U/G series or H series chip. The former optimizes battery life while the latter maximizes performance. Geekbench 5.3 scores for 11th gen i7-11657G and 10th gen i7-10510U -11th gen is 1500+ single-core and 5000+ multicore -10th gen is 1200+ single-core and 4500+ multicore Max performance (4k, 100% brightness, battery saver off, power mode on best performance): -11th gen 8.5 hours -10th gen 10.5 hours Max battery life (1080p, 40-50% brightness, battery saver on, power mode on best battery life): -11th gen 12.5 hours -10th gen 14.75 hours
HP Spectre's use GTX 1650- not 1650 Ti (I don't think there is such a card). And they use the Max Q version of the 1650. But I believe this laptop model has even different graphics card -NVIDIA GeForce MX250 - which is even lower level than the Max Q GTX 1650.
The last spectre x360 had an annoying issue with the Bang & Olufsen audio crackling. If I remember correctly, it seemwd to be an issue with HP laptops and the audio software. Has this been fixed, now?
Hi, I bought the same laptop with GTX 1650 graphic card, but am facing lot of hearing issue and fan voice is too loud. My battery works only upto 5 hrs. Does anyone facing the same issue?
My AP CS-A teacher has this computer for personal use. We use school-sanctioned MacBooks in his class. Something he told us is really good advice for anyone out there: “If you’re clumsy, get a MacBook. If you’re careful, get a PC.”
If only the GPU was better than an MX250. Gonna have to get the XPS 15 instead but man I wish this thing had something better to go with everything else great about it
I just got this same computer in the 14 inch in Sept. I upgraded from a Surface Pro 6. I love my surface, but being a full time students and having to write papers. I needed a harder keyboard then the detachable one that is with the Surface. I have the 11 gen Intel i7 with 8G RAM and a 512 Hard Drive. I did not need the 4k screen, I rather have the bigger hard drive.
Was about to buy...then decided to get ASUS TUF GAMING. it's just more practical for me with awesome specs for half the price. Cons is it just frickin heavy
I bought the Late 2019 15.6' FHD Sureview (Privacy) GTX1650 version a few weeks ago for around £1444 with free 3 years extra warranty using a student discount login (any University). This was to replace a 10 yr old Sony Vaio laptop. Not a a single regret so far, I just wish they had the Poseiden Blue in the UK store. I upgraded mine with a Sabrent 1TB Nvme to make space for dual booting MacOS Catalina and the touchscreen on MacOS is a very nice experience. Something you won't get on actual Macs. I'd highly recommend using Throttlestop whilst on the move. Actual battery lasts more than 10 hrs, temps around 30 - 40c. It's that cool the fans never turn on and i'm able to do light - medium work with music on the background. Please note that the GPU description on the website is kinda misleading. It's actually a GTX 1650 Max-Q not the full version because its a thin and light laptop. For UK folks, link to store - store.hp.com/UKStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=8XL37EA&opt=ABU&sel=NTB
You just walked past my old job 0:23 lol! I used to catch the link every night to go to the Lumiere Place Casino. Don't walk to far with that laptop bro, them STL niggas be lurking lol, good review tho!
Great review! I just picked one up, and I'm wondering if its normal for the screen to blink/flicker when plugging and unplugging the charger?? Thank you!
@@SoldierKnowsBest Thanks for replying! I actually came across the solution. If you search Windows HD Color Settings, and deselect "Don't Allow HDR games and apps on battery" it should fix the problem. Apparently the color profile is changing when the laptop switches from battery to plug. Hope this helps!
When you mentioned that the Bang & Olufsen speaker was very good on tjis computer I was sure i couldn’t trust you any more and I turned of right away. All other reviews have mentioned the speakers are nothing special or mot so good. Please try to be honest even though you represent the company
Dont worry about it this. The cpu is always overheating. Fans run at high speed. The system freezes sometimes.. Had to restore everything. Let's hope it'll work...
Grmmbl my wife broke both of my ethernet ports, whats wrong with a traditional port ? Apart from that it seems cool, pen touchscreen seems to have some delay, correct me if wrong.
I bought a new Spectre 360x 15 oled for $2000, but I returned it because it had a worse graphics card that the 13 inch previous model. Kind of dumb to downgrade on the more expensive model.
Man, it looks sleek. I just can't justify paying more than $900 for a laptop. I bought my Dell with the same specs (one generation older cpu) with the 4k screen and all the goodies for $850 open box from bestbuy. Slapped linux on it and it is a champ.
I have had countless issues with the last older 15 inch 4k display version of this laptop. don’t know if these issues would be prevalent in this new one but I wouldn’t recommend the version I own, as much as I wish I could like it.
I know you prob hear a lot of these stories and consider them as spam. but seriously I have all documents to prove it. I recently got a scholarship, fully offered by someone on Linkedin, it's Master's degree in BIM at the University of Barcelona (Online), and since I started this course last July, I have been studying in a near internet cafe as I can't afford a laptop. things are getting hard with all that 2D/3D/4D simulation work, I really need a laptop that can handle this stuff, and I have no idea where can I ask someone from, any idea? P.S: I live in a third world country, am paid 300$ per month, I can't afford a laptop
I REALLY wish the physical camera lock-out switch also locked out the microphone, instead of a software level mute button. And I REALLY wish that it was available with the 1050 graphics on the AMOLED version (MX250 is really weak). other than those 2 nickpicks, this looks to be an amazing 2in1.
macbook if you have a ipad and iphone, that airdrop and imessage is everything, then just pick up a local used surface laptop for the low if you need to be in the windows world
I had this computer, returned it after a week and bought a MBP. The Spectre has all sorts of issues. It may not be 4K but the screen on the MBP is sooo much better. Not to mention you can’t scientifically distinguish 4K from 1080p at standard viewing distances.
In my opinion, I think HP has the best laptops out there. I have a decade old HP laptop which is the HP Pavilion dv4 and it still works just fine but the battery is not working now, it has to be charge for the laptop to open so it's kind of difficult but I love everything about it though. And I looked for the date when this laptop was released and the BIOS Version/Date states that it was July 9,2009.. wow, staying strong hihi but I admit it though, I am in need of a new laptop now that I am in college hehe
