I was pogging when he said, you know I prioritize the gadget too much, I'm going to focus on more econ. He got level 1 of everything and immediately forgot about that
NL is so smart, by not investing into score generation like at all, he saves whole 2 Iron on Wave Counter, because his score number shows how many waves it has been already!
@@brr4519 well you need to be able to dig the blocks to get the resources out of them, and once you get teleporter or lift carry capacity becomes pretty worthless cus you can push the resources without picking them up
He will repeatedly uncover 15+ blocks, and then waste the next round making 3 trips to carry them all up, instead of just buying carrying capacity. @EgnaroeGod Get carry capacity early and you will have more total resources early to get bigger drills with. It's not carrying capacity or drill, its both, carrying capacity gets you there faster. Even with lift/teleporter carrying capacity is great because you spend less time setting up drags and going back for resources that escape the drag. You don't need as much, but it's not wasted.
1:07:20 This is actually really weird to me. I feel like I ALWAYS see parents kneeling or squatting down to take pictures with their kids. Not to avoid a weird angle, just to get the picture closer together.
"You just have to live 'til the pivot!" - never pivots (By the way, for those interested, the key to high scoring is not to pivot, but to keep boosting your score along the way, as score is a function of time and you're wasting time if you're not boosting score in the early waves.)
Every time he throws triangles to up his multiplier when the scalar is literally still 1 and he risks dying I die a bit inside. Like 3 of his 17 water would have the same effect on score and then he’d be able to heal during a catastrophic wave. But nahh.. “multiplier” just FEELS powerful
@@sarbae8988 lmao i knew he was prioritizing it pretty poorly, but I forgot that’s exactly how he described it 😅 Mathematically, it’s really just down to the fact that if you’re multiplying two numbers and have the opportunity to increment one, the result is always GREATER by increasing the smaller number. (Because you’re adding 1 extra multiple of the big number instead of the small one) Corollary: keeping the numbers as similar as possible is optimal. In this game, obviously there are limitations to doing that, but NL hilariously goes in the wrong direction.
Obv if you want to go big or go home, heavy investment in that hard-to-increase cobalt number can pay off. But it’s more likely to keep killing your run early.
Mike Tyson’s cameo in the hangover is extremely helpful because it gives a reason for the tiger to be in the hotel room which gives a reason for Allen, Stew, and Phill to take the baby with them instead of leaving it in the room which not only leads to funny moments and builds a bond between Tyler (Aka Carlos), Allen, and the audience which is leveraged in the 3rd movie but it also contributes heavily to Stews wife finding out that they were in Vegas not Napa Valley which leads to them breaking up and thus the setup for the 2nd movie. On top of that Tysons tiger is a large focus in Stews song “what do tigers dream of” which is a fantastic moment in the movie. To top that off the meeting with Mike Tyson and watching his video footage of them taking the tiger gives them another clue on how long Dug was with them that night. I appreciate you saying the hangover is underrated which I agree with but I strongly disagree with your take that Mike Tyson’s cameo didn’t add anything
VR is a more immersive experience for sure. It does take a little bit of getting used to though. The same thing happened when I started playing FPS games with mouse and keyboard on my first PC. I enjoy being able to grab at weapons as if they were physically in the space.
Sometimes i genuinely cant tell if all the names he's dropping, all the sports celebs and obscure movie references he talks about, are all just made up as a super-intellectual kind of skit where he feels extreme internal pleasure at being able to completely manufacture fictional "real" people, and have people in chat go "YEAH SO TRUE" even tho everything he talks about literally doesnt even exist.
The other day I finshed unlocking modules, moved to prestige and had an 800ish score and realized it's hard to not be psychotic when so much shit is happening. I apologize for all the backseating I did while doing the dishes.
The "I'm losing ground on the battles, the counter is half done, I have found nothing, and these rocks are all too damn hard" stress is real. And makes dome keeping the great fun it is.
Could not agree more about your pov about the lottery. That is the way I think about it. Only play when it gets to absurd levels and just use it distract myself.
love it coming back. Explore the lower tier gadgets? I hope the overwatch stream is posted over too, although NL saying it would just provided unneeded criticism is probably true hearing that Twitch chat sometimes
I like where you landed the drillbert thread, I also don't like him in the same way. it doesn't make fiscal sense because it produces the least resources out of the economy catagory and it's markedly worse than tp. It's just blast miner and drillbert scraping bottom
That's exactly how I think about buying lottery tickets. I buy one whenever it's over a certain amount. Not because I think I'm going to win but because I like imagining what I would do if I won hundreds of millions, and those thoughts were only realistic if I buy a ticket a few times per year
1:50 is it just me or is there someone in chat who is always asking if NL cried because of x ? At first i thought it was kind of an cute joke because NL often mentions how he gets emotional for movies and games etc etc. (which is really cool). But the more often i hear it it sounds more like some kid has its fragile masculinity challenged by alpha egg and wants to get him somehow with this. But who knows maybe im just projecting.
1:16:00, why can't you just say you enjoy the movie? Why do people have to judge if its a "good movie?" Isn't a good movie determined by how many people like it?
