RE: Cathouse Painting. Many years ago, my mother bought an awesome barrel table at an auction house. The table top is made from a thickly shellacked, round wood hatch cover from a sailboat. In the center of the hatch cover is a beautifully preserved leaf. We had the table in front of our sofa for a few years, before one of my mother’s friend’s sons told her that it was a marijuana leaf.

That crazy jack in the pulpit vase is by a local artist in my area (Hocking Hills area in Ohio). Jack Pine is well know for his blown glass pumpkins. He makes a special one every year for the Circleville pumpkin show!!! 🎃🎃🎃

The beautiful moriage in such a complimentary color way of purple, blue and yellow. The introduction of the pink ceramic cat to everyone’s eBay search history and finally a sprinkling of an educational experience in what is a cat house and a prison TV. Great ending to the 2022 Extravaganza.

I would have bought the cathouse painting because number 1, I laughed and thought it was great humor and 2nd because I just adored the dancing cats .If only you would have bought it for the humor sake at least. I probably would have done my darndest to buy that from you and think others would too.

The monster toy marked Mattel is called a Boglin. They were these rubbery puppet toys that came in boxes that looked like cages. Late 1980's. My grandma had bought me 2 or 3... still hoping to find them in one of the boxes from her house.

Good thing Andrew told you what the "cat house" represented. With your dad being a minister I would have loved to be a mouse in your house if you had indeed bought it and hung it up in your house and the reaction of your dad the minute he spotted it. In college, I took this pottery class, which I really enjoyed. My professor was great and encouraged the class to attend a sculptor's art exhibit at a local museum, so I did. His entry was 'Cat House' which featured coqettish cats leaning out of the windows of a house, dressed and sculpted like female humans. I didn't know what it meant at first, but I quickly figured it out. I must have heard the term from an old movie or something. Anyway, I'll never forget that night at the museum, where I learned more than I bargained for.🤣 P.S. This was in about 1980. I wonder when the painting was made that you saw and if it was a part of a cheeky trend!

Oh my stars Jocelyn! The "Cat House" conversations between you and Andrew are priceless. My parents were so prim and proper, they told me in the most proper way possible that it is called a "House of ill Repute". I figured it out even at a fairly young age that It was a house full of ladies with a bad reputation. They have both passed now. Sis and I lost our Mom back in May. I still love calling a cat house a House of ill Repute! I miss them so much! Mom and Dad that is! Thank you for giving me the giggles! Wonderful video! I adore your precious Laurel! She's wonderful! I love when you shop with Andrew, he is so knowledgeable and you are able to bounce things off one another. The Cat House painting might have turned out to be a good seller. I liked the large pink cat with blue eyes, a mistake to leave it I think. Best of all we got to see baby Laurel who enjoyed riding along with Daddy.
