They probably had to speed up the tempo because at district competition, the performance has to be finished by a certain amount of time. And if you are over that time, you get stopped and points are taken off
Piano player is stunning. This was before any Hamilton sheet music existed, no album only a few video clips from previews. He rewrote and transcribed music himself, in a new key. He knew Daniel was going to run out of time, therefore played a bit faster than normal. And Daniel, well I’m biased, but he was hysterical and amazing! These two guys are now doing amazing things in the theatre world! WE ARE & GO BLUE!
Don't fault the accompanist for not "understanding the speed of the song." They've probably rehearsed it 100 times like that, and it was probably the soloist who told the accompanist to play at that tempo. If he didn't like the tempo, he should've brought it up in rehearsal.
No one cares about how fast the piano guy was. This wasn't his video. There are 200 other people saying the exact same thing. Say something different, geez. I thought your movements were cool. At first, I was thrown off because the whole point of Groff standing still is that it resembles how King George stands still during the war, but I grew to love your dancing the longer the video went on. Really made me chuckle. Hope you won!
Melody Powers yes because he doesn't know the backgrounds of those students. Just because they're in college doesn't mean they handle speak of death and violence well.
Jozie Cox I would understand if there really was horrible, graphic talk and/or depictions of death and violence, but there really is nothing in here that would earn more than a PG rating... On the other hand, language, or sexual innuendo (is that how you spell it?), that's content that makes sense to warn people about.
Melody Powers It was for a high school theatre competition where we have to say the what the piece contains as a precaution for those attending the performance
This was great! I think you did the part of King George justice. I just had my regional thespian competition today. I think next year I will sing this selection. Would you mind sharing where you got the sheet music for it? :)
@@vacui1 I just thinks its annoying how the other people were laughing 😡 this is history and an amazing musical. People just don't respect history these days 😤
MY SISTER MADE HER WAY ACROSS THE ROOM TO YOU, I GOT NERVOUS THINKIN WHATS SHE GONNA DOOOO SHE GRABS YOU BY THE ARM IM THINKIN IM THROOOUGH THEN YOU LOOK BACK AT ME AND SUDDENLY IM *HELPLEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSS*
Nice voice. Tempo is a bit too fast. A bit too much body movement, remember George was king and would have had a regal attitude which makes the lyrics all the funnier. I realize you wouldn't want to copy the Broadway performance, yet George under the robes and heavy crown moving only his shoulders up and down, while looking disdainfully at the audience, adds a layer of absurdity to the whole thing.
you definitely have the voice and the stage presence, but please slow it down a bit. I'm assuming nerves were a part of the quickness. The beauty of this song is the pacing and the line delivery. You've got a bright future ahead of you :)
I absolutely love this Soooo much. I love his movements they match groff alot 😍 I jus tcant explain it. I'm a huge hamilton fan mostly king george as you can see for my pfp. This was incredible
This is a district competition, so you only have a limited amount of time to perform, usually only about 2 to 3 minutes. If your performance goes over that time limit, it gets stopped and they take points off your score. They probably told the pianist to play the piece quicker because of the time limit. If the performer had had a problem with the speed of the piece, he would have told the pianist to play it slower during the rehearsals. It's a good performance either way. I loved it! 😀🎵
Everyone out here hating on the pianist when he was literally doing his part correctly they had a time limit, tempo HAS to be quicker if theres a time limit and the song wont fit that limit
