King George has to be the most fun part to play in Hamilton. He only has a few short but very catchy & memorable songs & he gets the whole stage to himself to perform

I love how matter of fact he delivered the line “kill your friends and family”

It's interesting seeing how different countries play this song based on their relationship to England, America and royalty. Australia's version played by Brent Hill made the material work really well over here.

I love this version. Less overtly comedic, more menace simmering just underneath the surface.

Just became a massive fan of Jonathan Groff, but this Brit dude is brilliant too. Watching talent at this level is such a joy. Bravo.

This is gloriously creepy and disturbing. (This is 100% a compliment). I love seeing so many great performers put a different spin on this character.

He gave me a fresh perspective on this character. I just wish he walked because it feels like I am watching a challenge where he needs to balance the crown while singing.

This is like if Boris Johnson and Donald Trump had a baby and that baby grew up and became a 18th century singing king.

I'm a little scared of this King George.

This King George 🤴 has a better grasp of the character and that the song was intended to be a break up letter to America than some of the other actors, but it doesn't have the charm and dramatically kinky subtext of obsession like Groff's version. Nor does it have the sass and playfulness. Groff's portrayl is just so amazingly perfect. Like clearly Groff really understands the meaning of the song and connects with the character on a whole other level to all the other actors. You feel that obsessive, crazy love when Groff sings it. Groff also just has such amazing vocal technique that he manages to make seamless and look natural but is actually very highly technical and tricky. It is a wonderful song that has so much history, culture and meaning in it with such a boppy catchy tune. While other actors do great performances of it, Groff just absolutely nailed it to perfection. It is my absolute favourite of all the songs in Hamilton.

This guy is seriously good. Never seen/heard before. But I'm actually smiling now. Talent and effort is such a joy to behold. Thanks to all involved. Bravi!

I like the change for the final big Daaaaaaa, he instead goes over the "a" and inserts a da-yaaaaa. A stylistic choice for sure but it went over well.

I like the difference between the American and British actors' depictions of this role.

i perfer him to the original one and this is why. he is bigger which is so accurate cos rich ppl in them days purposely got fat to show off their wealth. this was a thing cos a poor person could never get fat, it just didnt happen. also the man sounds more british and has better acting skills overall. very impressive

This version is definitely played more serious but to me loses the more comedic nature this role was meant for. It wasn’t a bad performance but I didn’t like the direction he took with the character overall

I would prefer to see him play George IV. That would be hilarious. He seems better suited for him.

Hamilton or Bridgerton?

I am going to see Hamilton on its first UK tour in 2025. Still not sure if I will like it with all the rap songs but I’m sure looking forward to this song and I will have learned all the lyrics before I go to MIME along with- patrons PLEASE don’t sing aloud as it’s distracting and disrespectful for the hard working actors.

There such a massive difference between this and Jonathon Groff's version. This guy rushes the lyrics and Goff works them and uses them for dramatic effect.
